  • Ringbrothers Ford Mustang Convertible CAGED

Ringbrothers, the world-renowned custom car builder and parts manufacturer, has unveiled its latest creation — a custom-built 1964.5 Ford Mustang convertible known as “CAGED.” The design objective was to subtly evolve and modernize the original Mustang’s lines and proportions while honoring the aesthetic of Ford’s original pony car. The result is a modern appeal and unbridled performance mating the design of a 20th-century icon with the technology of the 21st.

Born from an original 1964.5 Mustang convertible, nearly every component is a Ringbrothers-built one-off piece, with the only factory Mustang parts being the center caps for the wheels. The Ringbrothers team conducted extensive metalwork converting the Roadster Shop FAST TRACK chassis back into a unibody, as well as widening and lengthening the bodywork by one inch. The BASF Glasurit “Burgundy Brave” finish was then applied, and all the chrome and stainless-steel trim was treated with Cerakote Titanium C-105P

  • Ford Mustang under Speed Test. Covers 0-100kmh in 4.8 seconds [VIDEO]

Ford Mustang Side ViewIf you think that there is nothing new about the Mustang, you are wrong. Ford has just released a video, showing how the V8 powered pony car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 4.8 seconds. This is actually record-braking, because it guarantees that the Mustang is the fastest accelerating Ford coupe ever offered in Europe.

If you wonder what will happen if the car is equipped with the 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, well, the answer is simple. It will need an additional second to cover the same sprint, but it will be also more economical and environmentally-friendly, delivering 35mpg and 179 g/km of CO2 emissions.

To go into details, Ford’s 5.0-litre V8 engine produces 435 horsepower (320 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb.-ft.) of torque. On the other hand, the more fuel-efficient 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine generaes 317 hp (233 kW) and 432 Nm (319 lb-ft) of torque.

Both engines are supported by a standard Performance Pack, which adds updated brakes and cooling. The new chassis and body structure, the additional advanced technology, are the other key factor, which helps in terms of optimized driving dynamic.

The famous pony car also features selectable drive modes, which are controlled via the toggle switches in the centre console. They adjust the electronic stability control, throttle response, ear-shift patterns, and steering with the help of four settings: Normal, Sport+, Track or Snow/Wet settings.

In addition, the new Mustang also uses independent front and rear suspension and double-ball-joint front MacPherson struts. In addition, body of the car is 28 per cent stiffer than the previous generation, which has also contributed for the great 0-100 km/h performance. Lightweight materials like aluminium for the bonnet, front wings, suspension, transmission and brakes are the other feature which has played a significant role in weight reduction and 4.8 seconds acceleration time.

The Mustang is offered in cabrio and fastback variant and is available throughout the United States. European dealerships will get the Mustang from July this summer. And don’t forget to watch the exciting video below:

  • Ford Starts Shipping 2015 Mustang Convertible to Dealerships

2015-Mustang-Convertible-THUMBThe keys of the first produced 2015 Ford Mustang Convertibles will be in customers’ hands very, very soon. We are talking about those who live in United States, because the company has just began shipping the pony cabrio car to dealerships nationwide. The Mustangs will come with heated seats and remote start and selectable drive modes with a snow/wet setting. This comes exactly for winter time and cold weather, and this car is the perfect present for Christmas. In my opinion … at least.

Heated seats also have a cooling feature. But owners will have to wait until temperatures go little higher. Unlike them, the remote start is standard only on the automatic-transmission models. This feature allows customers to fire up their drop-top from the comfort of their home. When one uses the remote start, the Mustang not only warms up its engine, but also warms the interior of the car to a comfortable temperature.

There are also selectable drive modes that come as a standard on premium Mustang models. It includes a wet/snow setting. It tweaks throttle response, steering effort and traction control in order to “soften” the wheel spin and maximize vehicle control.

This year the Mustang model celebrates 50 years of its birth. Since its debut in 1964 more than 9.2 million Mustang models have been sold. Now, Ford is offering the musclecar with even more options to choose from.

The car, be it in a fastback or a convertible form, can be powered by an upgraded V8, 3.7-liter V6 or a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. The first one is offered only for the Mustang GT and now produces 435 horsepower (320 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb.-ft.) of torque, while the V6 generates 300 horsepower (221 kW).

The new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine uses direct injection, variable cam timing and a twin-scroll turbocharger to offer an output of 310 horsepower (228 kW) and 434 Nm (320 lb.-ft.) of torque. 2015 Ford Mustang is turning on dealership lots in eight days.
