  • Flying Huntsman 6X6 Concept Debuts Today!

Kahn Flying Huntsman 6X6 Concept Front ViewKahn Flying Huntsman 6X6 Concept is hot exactly like the summer days right now. It has its exclusive premiere today and we are extremely happy to be among the first to introduce it to you! The vehicle looks gorgeous, and guess what, it runs on six wheels! If you want to view this beauty and be around its presence, you will have the opportunity to do that at the Billing Land Rover show. It begins today at the Billing Aquadrome in Northampton and ends on Sunday the 2nd of August.

Of course, to add two more wheels means that the Defender had to be transformed in a clever way. In other words, extension and widening were very useful for this task. Precisely, the bonnet was extended by 400mm, while the rear cabin by 800mm. The width of the concept has been also enlarged by 150mm.

The Volcanic Rock Satin Defender also got some tweaks for its exterior. Take a look at the new front bumper, X-Lander grille and the exuberance of Kahn badging. The addition of a third axle at the back, and two front-wheels and four back-wheels is what make the Flying Huntsman truly stand out. All six got 9″ x 20″ Volcanic Black Mondial wheel coupled with Cooper LTZ 275/55/20 tires.

Besides the heavy-duty chassis, upgraded suspension and braking as well as the hi-lo ratio drive system and locking differentials, the six-wheeled Defender hides something very special under its hood. And it is the GM LS3 V8 engine, producing a total of 430 horsepower (316kW). The unit works perfectly in collaboration with a GM six-speed automatic gearbox. There is more to that: it channels waste through an upgraded stainless steel exhaust system.

At last but not least, we should speak about the interior. It looks so cool, that I am regretting that I haven’t seen this combination on other Kahn projects. For instance, there are Red Leather Sports seats with 100% wool Abraham Moon Skye Almandine inserts. Not to mention the quilted and perforated centre glove box or the Churchill time clock fascia insert. Finally, you have probably noticed already the single spoke steering wheel, ideally complementing the great new look of the cabin.

Go see it if you are in Northampton this weekend! It’s worth it!

  • Kahn Reveals the Defender Based Flying Huntsman Pick Up

Last month we told you about a very strange but at the same time captivating vehicle – Kahn’s Flying Huntsman Defender Pick Up. Now, we have the first official pictures of the car, after it has officially debuted at the Great British Land Rover Show. The coach-built pick up is actually only in prototype form, so this means that it has to be further updated.

    Exterior

The most striking in it design is that its 90-inch wheelbase has been extended with 15 additional inches. What is more, the front end of the car appears to be longer. This is because it has been also lengthened by 400mm, while the width by 150mm.

At the front of this modified Defender 90 pick up we can also spot the front bumper replacement with new bumper lights, front wide wings with vents and bolt apertures, stainless steel sump guard, shadow chrome headlamps and X-Lander front grille.

The sides are adorned by the extended wheel arches, side vents with mesh stainless steel, side steps and 8″ x 18″ Defend 1945 Retro Wheels in Matt Black with gold stripe. At last, the back shows-off with rear wide wings and CTC semi-rigid wheel cover.

    Interior

Inside, one steps in a kingdom of leather. The GTB Sports seats for example are in Artico, while literally everything else is upholstered in leather: starting from the roof headlining and ending with the sun visors.

Furthermore, the front is adorned by new Churchill clock, new rev counter facia and the exclusive three-spoke Kahn billet steering wheel. Below it are the vented machined aluminium foot pedals and rubber mud flaps.

Although there aren’t significant changes regarding the performance, the tuner says that it has completely overhauled the suspension and brakes. And with the introduction of a six-speed automatic gearbox and cubby box in leather, it has also succeeded to achieve better driving experience and improvements in performance.

  • The Amazing Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6×6 Concept Lands in Geneva [VIDEO]

Last week we have promised to give you more information about a very special vehicle called the Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6×6 Concept. This unique project is made by Kahn and it is based on the Land Rover Defender. Three examples of the six-wheeler were revealed at the Geneva Motor Show. And what we basically see is the redesigned front grille and bumper as well as a square sectioned wide arch body kit.

As we have reported previously, the limited edition car has additional 400mm extension to the bonnet, while there is 1000mm (and not 800mm as we stated) extension to the rear cabin. In addition, the width has been increased by 150 mm. The same happened to the windscreen rake.

Under the hood of the Huntsman sleeps the powerful 6.2-litre GM LS3 V8 engine which is coupled with a six-speed automatic gearbox and delivers up to 430 horsepower (317 kW). Braking and suspension have been also upgraded and what rounds out the changes in terms of engineering is the quad crosshair exhaust system.

Furthermore, Huntsman Concept can be transformed into B4 and B6 armored variants. There are also several potential engine options like the V8 Ford Coyote and V8 Ford XS, intended for those wanting more power and torque.

The CEO and Creative Director of Kahn Group said that it is a pity vehicle like the Defender to retire. For this reason his aims were focused on creating a concept which is fashionable, iconic and revolutionary. And he did.
