  • Brilliantly Bright: SR Auto Fisker Karma Chrome

SR-Auto-Fisker-Karma-Chrome-THUMBSR Auto Fisker Karma Chrome is a vehicle that can’t be seen everyday. Firstly, given the fact that it is a Fisker Karma, and secondly because it’s outstanding exterior appearance. Brilliantly bright this vehicle exudes perfect stance and electrifying charm.

The four-door Fisker model brings to reality the astonishing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. Despite this performance the model is able to achieve an impressive consumption of more than 100 miles per gallon and 83 g/km CO2 emissions.

What is more important however is that this car transcends the boundaries of color and tones. A majestic reflection of the world is cast upon the hybrid super car – it wears a chrome cloak. In addition, the elongated frame accentuates the sheer magnificence of each panel.

Thanks to SR Auto Group, what completes the perfect visual attributes of this particular vehicle is the new bespoke set of twenty-two inch forged PUR 2WO wheels, which are brushed silver face with pearl white windows.

  • Fisker Atlantic Ahead of NYIAS

Fisker-Atlantic-thumbOfficial news from Fisker – the Atlantic concept/prototype as seen before its debut at the New York International Auto Show in a few days. It’s design is said to be drawn from nature and there’s some talk about crouching tigers and what not. But to be honest it doesn’t look much different from the Karma, does it? The good news is that it is also as clever as the Karma.

It will be a four-door saloon aimed at families who “want to drive an impactful, high-end vehicle while making a positive statement about responsibilities”. For a driving force, the Atlantic will be using Fisker’s second generation EVer drivetrain – a plug-in hybrid that’s being charged by a four-cylinder gasoline engine. No words on performance yet.

In terms of design feats, the Altantic’s glass roof is interesting. It has a ‘spider’ rigid construction designed to withstand great stresses which can come in handy for future safety tests. The door handles of the rear doors are hidden away within the C-pillars so that you or I can fool people into thinking “That’s a coupe we have here. The person inside must be cool and slim and smart”. The taillights are the only other distinctive feature that prevents me for confusing the Atlantic with a Karma – sleek streams of LED clusters. It actually looks kind of nice.

More information on this will be available within a few days probably.

  • Fisker Karma – The Luxury Car of the Year

Fisker Karma Interior ThumbBridge of Weir Leather and Fisker Automotive are bringing together the combination of low carbon leather and a sustainable luxury! The vehicle is the world’s first luxury, range-extended electric car – called the Fisker Karma. All this comes in a formidable package. Top Gear has already put a high evaluation on it giving it the title “Luxury Car of the Year”.

The quality of the interior  is set as high as possible: the bulk of the Fisker Karma’s luxurious interior material on the EcoStandard™ and EcoSport™ models comes from Bridge of Weir, with seats, steering, dash, door-casings and the centre-console trim all wrapped in the Scottish company’s locally produced Low Carbon Leather™.

Not only is this car powerful, beautiful, exotic, exciting and fun-to-drive car, but also the Karma drives its wheels with electricity. Not a surprise it got the award! The success is due to the mix of high-octane, internal combustion engine the Low Carbon Leather™ interior! This was definitely the factor that secured Karma’s title the 2011 Luxury Car of the Year.

To go further into details, Bridge of Weir boasts the most environmentally friendly leather in the world. Most of the world’s leather is sourced from South America several thousand kilometers away. However, the Bridge of Weir’s hides from abattoir to tannery traveled just 96 kilometers and it is one of not so many industries that have thermal energy plant converting waste to energy.

The award-winning automobile, similarly to the rest of the Fisker range, can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in only 5.9 seconds. Yet, it can also achieve the equivalent of more than 100 miles per gallon.  Moreover it has just 83 g/km CO2 emissions in real world driving on an annual basis. The electric car is now on-sale across Europe, priced from around €85,500. And don’t worry – the price of the Low Carbon Leather™ is included.

  • 2012 Fisker Karma Price – €85 500

Fisker Automotive has announced the all-new 2012 Karma coming with exclusive interior.

Fisker Karma EcoStandard™ and EcoSport™ now include seats, steering, dash, door-casings and centre-console trim wrapped in low carbon leather.

The four-door Karma coupe can accelerate to 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds and to achieve an impressive consumption of more than 100 miles per gallon and 83 g/km CO2 emissions. 2012 Karma is priced at €85 500.  Bridge of Weir will also go on to supply low-carbon leather to the full Fisker range, including the recently announced Surf model.

With a production process supported by Bridge of Weir’s innovative new thermal energy plant in Scotland, Fisker vehicles can boast that even the interior leather is low carbon and manufactured with zero waste.  Opened in 2010, the thermal energy plant is the only one of its kind in the world leather industry, and takes what was previously waste sent straight to landfill and converts it directly to energy for heating the huge volumes of recycled water required in the manufacturing process.

“Bridge of Weir produce the finest leather I have seen in a car, and now that they can do this with zero waste, their low-carbon leather just had to feature in Fisker cars.”, finished Henrik Fisker, Fisker Automotive co-founder, CEO and executive design director.

  • Fisker Karma has achieved 52 MPGe

Fisker Automotive confirms Karma EPA certification, which means that the official rating of the vehicle is already known. It is 53 MPGe on combined cycle. Fisker Automotive’s Electric Vehicle with extended range (EVerTM) powertrain technology clearly represents the future for the automotive industry.

Fisker Karma is powered by two electric motors with combined power of 408PS (300 kW) and 1300Nm (959 lb-ft), which is enough to catapult the car to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and to bring it all the way up to 200 km/h (124 mph).

Another test showed that the Karma’s all-electric range is just 52 km (32 miles), which is less than the original claim of 80 km (50 miles). However, the overall range is more than 480km (300 miles). It is provided by a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine generating electricity to recharge the batteries, when they are depleted.

“We are delighted to have EPA certification and fuel economy ratings that verify the Karma’s remarkable green credentials.” said Henrik Fisker, CEO and co-founder of Fisker Automotive.

“As with all electric vehicles, range varies greatly on the conditions of the road and how you drive the car. We firmly believe that most owners will get up to 50 miles of driving range on a single charge and will use our electric-only mode most of the time they drive the car, thereby running on zero emissions. Overall, we are very pleased with the results of EPA’s tests. The Karma is a groundbreaking product with a unique powertrain.”, he finished.

  • Fisker Karma auctioned for £140 000

Fisker Karma was sold at a charity auction held in Camden’s famous Round House performing arts venue. The price was £140 000 for the very first Fisker Karma to be offered for sale in the United Kingdom.

Fisker Karma is powered by 408PS (300 kW) hybrid system. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and the fuel consumption is just 2.4 liters per 100 km, which is 100 mpg and emissions of 83 g/km of CO2. The top speed is 201 km/h (125 mph).

The car has two drive modes: Stealth and Sport. In Stealth Mode the efficiency is maximized, while in sport you’ll feel the full power of the beautiful vehicle.

Fisker Automotive’s engineering team designed the Karma’s space frame around the car’s unique powertrain, filing for multiple patents in the process.  Benefitting from four-wheel independent SLA (double-wishbone) suspension that also employs aluminum components, the Karma has been specifically tuned to run on standard 22” aluminum wheels, a first for a production car.

Pratham UK is an overseas chapter of the children’s charity founded in Mumbai by UNICEF in 1994.  Its mission is to ensure that every child in India has the opportunity to attend school and receive an education.  Since its inception, the organisation has helped over 36 million Indian children with its literacy campaign.
