  • G-Power shows how the BMW X5 M could have unlimited source of power

    G-Power BMW X5 M F85 front viewG-Power uprates second gen BMW X5 M F85 to 750 HP and 980 Nm

BMW X5 M is in its second generation and is one of those outstanding SUVs that offer not only style, but also performance. Powered by a twin-turbo V8 with significant potential, (575 hp and 650 Nm of torque), the X5 have capabilities that other rivals should be envious about. But what happens when you want to extract power even further? Obviously, the first thing you can do is find and call someone who can help you.

You can reach out to G-Power for instance. The experts at the tuning company specialize in making the M Series, into more than just an M Series. In other words, they unlock the hidden potential of the cars that come in their garage. They have exactly what you need for your X5 M: a three-stage performance upgrade and other modifications that aid performance.

    Stage 1

This stage raises the output to 650 hp via a simple software remap, G-Power Bi-Tronik 5 V1- or the Bi-Tronik 2 V1-remap. The results recorded by the dyno are an additional 75 hp and 100 Nm of torque for both, making it to a total of 650 hp and 750 Nm.

    Stage 2

It steps over the first stage and adds a special flow-optimized stainless steel downpipes to the exhaust system. Then the software upgrade is calibrated to eventually jump to 700 hp and 905 Nm of torque.

    Stage 3

The last stage generates 175 hp over the stock, bringing about the effect of an incredible 750 hp! The torque has been uprated to 980 Nm delivered between 3000-4000 rpm. Here the turbochargers are re-engineered with larger turbine and compressor wheels that spin within machined and gas-flowed housings. They work hand-in-hand with the stainless steel downpipes and a titanium exhaust system. By the way the latter is fitted with two rear silencers and four 100 mm diameter tailpipes; and it also releases a very powerful and impressive soundtrack.

Performance-wise: the quarter mile is reached within 11.5 seconds, while the V-max has been unleashed to 300km/h.

At last, G-Power’s X5 M benefits not only from better performance but also from new GX5M-RS coilover suspension and 23-inch HURRICANE RR forged alloys. And this is the most simple way you can make your X5 M more individual and powerful! Enjoy!

  • Meet Manhart’s MHX5 700 Project Based on the X5 M F85

MHX5 700 Front viewThis special project called MHX5 700 is based on BMW’s X5 M F85 model. We are definitely satisfied what Manhart Performance has achieved with it and therefore we impatiently wanted to share it with you. Although we have seen even stronger X5s by he same tuning company (visit the link below for more information), this one here is surely one-off because it also adds some other cool equipment features.

    Engine Optimization

The current X5 M F85-series is factory-fitted with the 4.4 liter V8 engine, which produces 575 hp (423 kW) and 750 Nm (554 lb-ft) as a standard. These numbers weren’t enough for the tuner and therefore it felt the urge to introduce the MHX5 700 program to this BMW model.

The modification began after installing in-house made downpipes and stainless steel sport mufflers with valve control and 100-millimeter twin tailpipes. Then the modification of the engine software began, thus making the datasheet show full 700 hp (515 kW) at 6500 RPM and a brute torque of 900 Nm (665 lb-ft) at 5700 revs.

After the maximum speed limiter was removed, the SUV can even show-off with beefy 315 km/h into the airstream. And if you aren’t keen on that much power, Manhart is offering a “small” Power Stage with 640 hp (471 kW).

    Looking Good or Better?

    MHX5 700 Rear View

In terms of exterior appearance there hasn’t been done much. But it is in fact sufficient. First we should pay attention to the custom-built foil coverage that comes in Grey Matte. And then we should look lower and spot the 10.5×22 and 11,5×22 inches BBS SV rims. They were fitted with Vredestein Ultrac Vorti high performance tires dimensioning 295/30ZR22 front and 335/25ZR22 rear.

In order to sit lower to the ground, the modified X5 M received H&R lowering springs. They bring it 35mm closer to the ground but also maximize its cornering performance. Even better, there is no loss of the offered comfort.

Inside there is a single change and it includes a new extra AWRON display, which informs the driver about all important MHX5 700 operating parameters and driving dynamics values.

So, which one is your favorite tuning from today?

  • G-Power and the Brand New BMW X5 M F85

G-Power BMW X5 M F85 Front View G-Power has prepared for today two projects and we are starting with the BMW X5 M F85. It looks massive, features some exterior tweaks and more importantly substantial power output uprating. What is more, exactly this vehicle unit can be found on G-Power’s online shop, in case you like it that much.

    HURRICANE

This is the name of tuning company’s new forged wheels generation, which is the lightest, strongest and most individual aluminum wheels production in the history of G-POWER. The alloys are made from ultra-light aircraft-grade aluminium. They can be specified in Jet Black (just like the X5 here), Gun Metal Grey and Stardust Silver colors. They can be also combined with a polished surface Diamond Cut and adorned by individual signature of up to 15 characters. In the wheels line-up there is also a polished version of the HURRICANE RR.

BMW X5 is fitted with 23-inch wheels, from the RR specification. They have been fitted with low profiles sized at 315/25 R23, thus enhancing the steering precision and handling.

    ECU Choices?

But more important in my opinion is the power update made to the engine. G-POWER ensured that there is up to 700 hp (514 kW) and 905 Nm (668 lb-ft) of torque. But the really interesting thing here is that this power uprating can be achieved either by the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5 performance module or the Bi-Tronik 2 bespoke remapping of the factory ECU. And the best part: both ways are advantageous!

The second step after the power increase was to delete the serial top speed restriction. G-Power raised the top speed to a theoretical value that cannot be achieved in practice, thus making it possible for the X5 M F85 to reach a Vmax resonating to its new power output of 700 hp (514 kW).

    So… Are you ordering?
