  • Novitec Rosso Ferrari F12 Berlinetta – 340 km/h on a Highway [video]

Novitec Rosso has released a cool video with featuring their latest project based on Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. The sports car managed to hit 340 km/h (211 mph) on a German Highway (no speed limites there, though).

Not only a perfect aerodynamics is needed for such speed, but a super powerful engine – in case a naturally aspirated 6.3 liter V12 with 764HP (562 kW) at 8,500RPM and the maximum torque is 703Nm (518 lb-ft) at 6,300RPM. The redline is raised to 8,900 RPM. The official top speed is 345 km/h (213 mph), so the car was pretty close to it.

Other upgrades, which are very important for this achievement is the rim/tire set – NOVITEC ROSSO NF4 9.5J x 21” for the front axle are mounted with Pirelli high-performance tires in size 255/30 ZR 21 and 12J x 22” fitted with 335/25 ZR 22 tires. The ride height is lowered with 40mm.

  • Novitec Rosso Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

Novitec Rosso has introduced their latest project based on Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. The tuning company made the most powerful Ferrari, ever. The car’s appearance and handling are further improved with NOVITEC ROSSO sport springs and high-tech forged wheels with diameters of up to 22 inches. Exclusive interior appointments round out the product line-up for the super sports car.

The 6.3 liter naturally aspirated V12 is boosted to whopping 764HP (562 kW) at 8,500RPM and the maximum torque is 703Nm (518 lb-ft) at 6,300RPM. Raising the redline speed to 8,900 rpm makes the spacing of the gears of the 7-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission working even better. This also benefits performance as evidenced by a new top speed in excess of 345 km/h (213 mph).

Other upgrades include electronically controlled sports exhaust system, which can be adjusted via the steering wheel. NICE!

The NOVITEC ROSSO NF4 9.5J x 21” wheels for the front axle are mounted with Pirelli high-performance tires in size 255/30 ZR 21. For maximum traction the rear axle is fitted with size 12J x 22” wheels, shod with size 335/25 ZR 22 tires.

The exclusive appearance can for the time be upgraded further with black NOVITEC ROSSO side markers that will be complemented with black tail lights in the near future.

NOVITEC ROSSO sport springs lower the ride height of the Ferrari by up to 40 mm, lending the car an arresting appearance and further enhanced handling as the result of a lowered center of gravity.

For added utility the German specialists equip the F12berlinetta with a lifting system for the front axle. At the push of a button in the cockpit the front of the car can be raised by 40 mm to facilitate navigating obstacles such as underground garage entrance ramps or speed humps. Upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h the suspension automatically reverts to its original position.

NOVITEC ROSSO also offers full individuality for the interior. The product program offers countless options from carbon-fiber shift paddles to exclusive Alcantara and leather interiors in any desired color or upholstery design.

  • BMW M6 Coupe F12 [video]

BMW US has released a nice video for the fans, where a brand new 2012 M6 Coupe (F12) with Matt Mullins behind the steering wheel is raced over special paper to create unique autographs for M fans across the world with the help of specially applied ink to the tire treads.

The new M6 is powered by twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter engine delivering 560HP (412 kW) and 680Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission. 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – electronically limited. When fitted with the optional M Driver’s Package, top speed can be increased to 305 km/h (189 mph).

The shock absorbers are electro-hydraulically operated trough the car’s Variable Damper Control (VDC) again with three settings. Driver aids come in many abbreviations such as DSC, ABS, CBC and DBC but thankfully all can be overridden with the very important M Dynamic Mode (MDM) which allows you to do what one must do with an M car – wheel spinning, oversteer and other tire-destructive activities.

  • Audi F12 Prototype or a R8 with 204HP

Audi has announced a strange car – F12 Prototype, which is actually a R8 but with an electric motor. The sports electric car comes a 38 kWh battery and three motors with a combined power of 204HP (150 kW) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque.

When the car goes at low speeds, only the front axle is powered by a single electric motor and on high speeds or fast acceleration – the two rear motors are activated for full power and control.

“Our team united engineering art, creativity and a portion of lateral thinking,” said Dr. Christian Allmann, one of the project managers.

“Young, independent free-thinkers worked together with the experts from the Technical Development departments at Audi and Bosch. We enjoyed a constant sharing of our respective knowledge and different work cultures.” “The project was very dynamic with respect to personnel and technologies, resulting in a very flexible collaboration with open interfaces,” added Martin Schüssler, Allmann’s colleague.

The F12 driver controls basic drive functions – Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive – by operating buttons on the center tunnel. All other operations are controlled via a tablet computer that can be removed from the center console. A user-programmable instrument cluster presents all key information in high resolution.

The car is actually planned for production, but nothing is sure for now.

  • Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tyres – 255/35 and 315/35 ZR20

Michelin has created the new Pilot Super Sport tyres specially for the brand new F12berlinetta, which is the most powerful Ferrari ever. The new tyres are the world’s fastest series-produced tyre on the track. The Italian manufacturer, after its previous successful collaborations related to the development of the tyres for the 599 GTO and the FF, has once more chosen Michelin among the original equipment suppliers for the new F12berlinetta,

The new Ferrari F12berlinetta has a naturally aspirated 65-degree 6.3 liter V12 – 740PS (544 kW) and 690Nm (509 lb-ft). To handle all that power, a number of technologies have been developed by Michelin’s Research and Development Center.

    Here are some of them:

First is the Twaron Belt. Esentially, it is a high-density fibre which gives the Michelin Pilot Super Sport superior high-speed stability. A key feature of Twaron is that it is very strong, yet light; Twaron is five times stronger than steel of an equivalent weight.

The second is a variable contact patch 2.02 that changes its shape when cornering. That’s why the amount of rubber in contact with the road remains the same.

Last is the Tri-Compound and Bi-compound tread. Used in endurance racing, this innovation uses different rubber compounds on the left and right sides of the tread. On the outside, a unique elastomer specifically developed for racing tyres ensures exceptional endurance. On the inside, a latest-generation, high-grip elastomer enables the tyre (on wet surfaces) to break through the water’s surface and adhere to the road.

The new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres come in two sizes: 255/35 ZR 20 for the front wheels and 315/35 ZR 20 for the rear axle.
