SKODA AUTO engineers employ a wide range of measures to ensure that all vehicles in the iV lineup offer optimal safety, even in the event of a severe accident. Special attention is paid to the installing of high-voltage batteries in a way that they are impact-proof and protect in the terms of overloading. This approach makes the vehicles as safe as their siblings with internal combustion engine systems.

The entire SKODA Enyaq iV has proven itself worthy of numerous awards in terms of safety, even the renowned Euro NCAP tests, which proves that the approach is indeed effective. Enyaq iV comes with a well-protected high-voltage battery which doesn’t pose an increased risk. This has also been confirmed in independent studies by accident researchers and fire safety experts: battery electric vehicles have the same level of crash safety as models with conventional combustion engines.

Engineers have paid special attention to prevent the energy storage unit from being overloaded and by applying sophisticated tech approaches that include applying protective relays and extensive sensors. Furthermore, the high-voltage system is also designed to be safe and in the event of a defect or accident, the electrical components are immediately disconnected from the battery in a matter of milliseconds and do not endanger passengers anymore.

Independent tests, some of which go far beyond the legal requirements, have shown that the well-protected battery packs remain undamaged even if the body is deformed and that there would be no increased risk of fire in a rear collision.

SKODA expands the Enyaq iV electric SUV lineup with a new AWD 80x SportLine version. This is by far the most powerful Enyaq iV with its 265hp.

The newcomer is geared with a second electric motor which drives the front axle and contributes to a more responsive and aggressive driving character. It also helps the vehicle to be the fastest in the lineup with an acceleration rate of 6.9 seconds to reach 100km/h, this is truly a menacing vehicle.

Just like its rear-wheel sibling, the 80x SportLine is geared with a sports chassis and comes with a lower ride height that reduces gravity and enhances the handling capabilities. Furthermore, the new Enyak iV comes with full LED Matrix headlights with an intelligent technology that automatically turns off individual segments of the light beam when the camera on the windscreen detects vehicles, pedestrians, and any kind of object.

As it comes to the interior, the 80x SportLine’s upholstery and roof lining are covered in black, and the dashboard is upholstered in black synthetic leather with grey contrasting stitching and carbon-fiber effects. Furthermore, the three-spoke multifunctional leather sports steering wheel is also a part of the standard equipment and features a leather-covered rim with grey contrasting stitching and exclusive badges.

The model was firstly showcased back in 2019 as a Vision iV concept vehicle and showcased SKODA’s future plans for electrified vehicles.

Now, the production vehicle offers innovative drivetrain technology, elegant design, and a large list of standard features. The Enyaq iV is specially designed to fit a wide range of people and answer the needs of even the most demanding customer.

The range consists of two variants: Enyaq iV 60 Nav and Enyaq iV 80 with 62kWh and 82kWh battery packs respectively.

Along with the technical excellence, the entire Enyaq range provides customers with a cozy and elegant interior with tons of functions, a dedicated suite of safety features, and an overall rewarding driving experience with numerous utility and convenience gadgets.

Furthermore, any vehicle in the lineup comes with aftersale care packages: Small Medium, and Large. The first one, the Small covers customers for essential servicing like brake fluid changes, dust and pollen filters leaning. It also includes Driverline concierge – 24/7 service that covers breakdown, recovery, and glass care.

The Medium pack adds routine maintenance services, including brake, suspension, and cooling system repairs, electric system maintenance, all fluids top-ups.

The Large pack adds includes tire replacement and wheel alignment (due to fair wear and tear), puncture repair, geometry check, and wheel balance.

New SKODA Enyaq iV, the brand’s pure electric vehicle, has started its awards and recognition collection by scoring a major victory at the 2021 electrifying.com awards.

The jury named the new Enyaq iV the Best Family Car 2021 and praised the model’s practical design and convenient features. Commenting on the award, electrifying.com founder Ginny Buckley said: “We’ve had more questions from readers about this car than any other over the past year. Real people are thinking it could be the right car for them. Having driven the car on UK roads, we don’t think they’ll be disappointed.”

Enyaq iV comes with a new concept and will be the base for all future SKODA models. Available with two battery packs and a wide choice of personalization options, the vehicle can specify its Enyaq in many convenient ways and benefit from a WLTP driving range of up to 333 miles on a single charge. In addition, SKODA has announced four-wheel-drive models coming to the lineup later this year, as well as a special SportLine version that will be soon announced.

New Enyaq iV is already available for order and the first deliveries will be available in July this year.

New SKODA Enyaq iV, the brand’s first purpose-built battery electric will be available to order on 10 March 2021. Based on VW’s modular electrification toolkit (MEB), the highly anticipated all-electric SUV will be available with two battery size variants, a new range structure and numerous new interesting design approaches.

More customization options

New Enyaq iV comes with numerous possibilities for personalization. What is new is that instead of choosing one of several trim levels, buyers will have the chance to specify the battery size they need, select interior package and then personalize the vehicle from a long list of equipment packs and exclusive components.

At the moment, the ranges consist of two models: Enyaq iV 60 Nav and Enyaq iV 80, with 63kWh and 82kWh respectively. Also, there are five design variants that buyers can choose from Loft, Lodge, Lounge, Suite and ecoSuite, all of which feature different interior and exterior design and equipment.

Design approaches

SKODA Enyaq iV measures 4,649mm in length and 1,879 in width. The vehicle ensures enough space and flexibility for tons of luggage and numerous different activities. Also, for this particular model, SKODA designers have completely restyled the interior. The traction battery which is housed in the floor and the compact motor is mounted beneath the boot floor which allows Enyaq iV to offer a cabin without the burden of the packaging issues of the internal combustion engine vehicle. Put simply, the setup ensures more interior pace and a flat floor. Also, the boot can store a total of 585-litres of luggage. This number further expands to 1,710 when the rear seats are folded.

New Enyaq iV charging options

All Enyaq iV models come with a minimum DC rapid charging capability of 50kW as a standard feature. However, customers can specify their vehicle with the higher 100kW version and the highest 125 DC charge pack.

Furthermore, Enuaq iV offers customers a total of three charging options. In addition to using the standard household 230V socket with a 2.3kW altering current (AC), the vehicle can also be charged at home (or any other place) using a wall box of a maximum of 7.2kW. By using this way, the car can be completely charged for about 10 hours and approximately 13 hours for the 82kWh battery type. The third option includes a connection between a rapid DC charging point with a charging capacity of up to 125kW.

Drivetrain and performance

The entry-level 2kWh battery model is geared with a 180ps (132kW) motor that delivers power to the rear wheels via a single-speed gearbox. This setup has a WLTP combined range of 256 miles on a single charge.

The larger 82kWh model is capable of generating a total of 204ps (150kW) and is capable of covering about 330 miles with a single charge.
