2015 Ford EcoSport SUV comes with numerous improvements, that include style upgrades, improved driving dynamics and many more. The leather seats and chrome details are also available with the standard equipment. And as we talk about equipment, Ford now offers a special Winder Pack (just when the Summer season starts. Good one, Ford). It includes heated windscreen, heated mirrors and heated front seats. There are also some fine tunings, made to the springs, dampers, rear torsion beam, Electronic Stability Programme and Electronic Power Assisted Steering settings.

So, the Ford EcoSport will also be offered without rear-mounted spare wheel, but instead will come with mobility kit. And another changes have been made t the rear swift gate. Now it allows easier access to the bootspace. Furthermore, all models include and a sweet EcoSport badge on the rear.

Interior

As said above, leather seats are included, but only to the Titanium models. Furthermore, the interior awaits you with privacy glass with all trims, while the Winter Pack adds and rear seat ventilation. The restyled cabin also offers black lower instrument panel, centre console and door boards. The instrument cluster also includes a light dimming function and chrome-surround rings.

Drivetrain system

The EcoSport vehicles are now available with 1.5-liter TDCi, that offers 95 hp (69 kW) and delivers 64.2 mpg. The next variant is a 125 hp (91 kW) 1.0-liter EcoBoost unit, that delivers 52 mpg. The last engine offers 1.5-liters and also 125 hp with 44 mpg.

Furthermore, additional technology tweaks come later this year and will include satellite navigation and Rear View Camera, that helps with the reverse maneuvers. You can see for yourself, that Ford’s growing SUV family has a lot to offer and it gets even bigger and more confident.

Ford EcoSport will make many people happy, especially those living in Europe and keen on Ford cars. Although Europeans do not have a good opinion on Fords, this one might attract their attention because of several reasons. Secondly, there are some changes that make it even more likable, and an example is the rear-mounted spare wheel, or precisely the fact that it is not there. Ford EcoSport also features minor stylish changes like the new heated (front only) leather seats, steering wheel, and chrome detailing.

Changes in the Exterior

The major change here is that Ford is offering customers the option of specifying the EcoSport SUV without a rear-mounted spare wheel. This happens for the first time in company’s history. Distinctive EcoSport badge is adorning the rear.

More Changes Throughout the Interior

Compared to the exterior, the cabin got more extras to show-off with. For instance the Titanium trim comes as a standard with partial leather seats as well as new design for the steering wheel design, and chrome details.

EngineRange

In Europe, Ford EcoSport will be offered initially with 1.0-litre EcoBoost and 1.5-litre petrol engines and 95 PS 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine. The latter offers fuel efficiency rated at 4.4 l/100 km and emissions of 115 g/km, while the 125 PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol generates 5.4 l/100 km and has 125 g/km CO2. At last, the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine delivers 6.3 l/100 km and 149 g/km CO2. All three units meet the Euro 6 emissions standards.

Ford is slowly expanding in the SUV market in Europe with hopes to strengthen its position. After the EcoSport, it is planning to introduce the Kuga and Edge in 2016.

The exterior of 2014 EcoSport boasts a short bonnet, raked front pillars, and a distinctive five-piece chrome front grille with angular headlamps and signature LED light strips.

The engine range includes a 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine (three times winner of International Engine of the Year) – 125HP (92 kW) and 200Nm (148 lb-ft) capable of returning 53.3 mpg UK (5.3 liters / 100 km) with 125 g/km CO2. There is also a 1.5 liter petrol engine with 112HP (82 kW) and a 1.5 liter diesel – 90HP (66 kW) returning up to 61.4 mpg UK (4.6 liters / 100 km) with CO2 of 120 g/km on combined cycle.

EcoSport features Hill Start Assist, Cruise Control, automatic wipers and headlights, and rear-parking sensors. The Ford SYNC in-car connectivity system enables voice-activation of phone calls and music selection from devices connected via Bluetooth or USB.

Ford SYNC Emergency Assistance will directly connect the vehicle occupants to local emergency services operators after an accident, and crucially, in the correct language for the region. Ford SYNC with AppLink will enable EcoSport owners to voice-activate apps, including leading music streaming service Spotify.
