  • Kia announces official automotive partnership with Boardmasters Festival

    2021 Kia e-NiroKia has been named an official partner for Boardmasters, the Cornish surf and music festival. This event takes place in Newquay, Cornwall on Fishtail Beach, the home of British surfing, 11-15 August. The partnership provides the perfect opportunity for Kia to share its new “Movement that Inspires” concept as the brand looks forward to an electric-only future.

    David Hilbert, Marketing Director for Kia UK comments, “Partnering with Boardmasters is an exciting new step for Kia. Thanks to its celebration of surfing, creativity and sustainability, the festival is a perfect match for Kia and our new ‘Movement that inspires’ brand purpose. Through this strategic partnership, we will add to the festival experience with a schedule of activities and classes to inspire and invigorate visitors to Boardmasters this August, with an activation space designed to encourage people to engage more closely with notions of sustainable mobility.”

    The event will host a timetable of exclusive classes and experiences for visitors and surfing enthusiasts, as well as a place for all kinds of activities.

    Kia will also exhibit some of its coolest vehicles – the best-selling EV, the Kia e-Niro, and an EV Concept, created especially for this festival. This vehicle will be unveiled days ahead of the event.

  • New Kia e-Niro continues to impress both skeptics and enthusiasts

    2020 Kia e-Niro Ever since the Kia e-Niro made its debut last year, it has been awarded with tons of recognitions from well-respected industry commentators. The electric e-Niro won Car of the Year at the 2029 What Car? Awards and was named “Game Changer” at the 2019 Autocar Awards. It was also recognized as the Best Electric Car at the Business Awards 2019 and grabbed the Eco Award at the 2019 CarWow Car of the Year Awards. Additionally, Auto Express has named the vehicle the Best Affordable Electric Car at the 2019 New Car Awards and Driving Electric announced it as Electric Car of the Year 2019.

    But even with this expanded list of recognitions, Kia decided not to rest on its laurels and for 2020 announces the “First Edition” lineup. Its standard equipment list is even more lengthy, and some of the features include new 10.25-inch touchscreen satellite navigation system with telematics system UVO Connect Services, LED headlights with bi-function projection, ambient lightning and a battery heating system.

    In terms of interior, there’s black leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an electronic parking brake and automatic air conditioning. The adaptive Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go and the smart entry system make the driving experience more convenient, while the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions, along with the eight-speaker JBL premium sound system make it more pleasurable.

  • Kia reveals plans and specs for upcoming 2020 e-Niro and Soul models

    2020 Kia e-Niro With its latest update, the new e-Niro and the all-new Soul EV arriving in 2020, Kia will have two distinctive electric cars capable of covering a range of 280 miles range or more with a single charge and zero tailpipe emissions.

    The original allocation of the new e-Niro models for the UK has sold out within weeks of going on sale in 2019 and now for 2020, Kia Motors Limited has promised numerous more supplies to clear the existing 3,000 customer waiting list. The plan is to roll out the cars in the first six months of the new year and ensure even more supplies for the second half.

    With a relatively affordable price, the new e-Niro grants buyers with LED headlights, Battery Heating System and an enhanced cabin pack with a 10.25-inch Touchscreen Satellite Navigation, Telematics System and UVO Connect Services and Ambient Lighting. Customers who haven’t applied for the waiting already, have the chance to order the model at dealerships now for delivery in July next year.

    The all-new Soul EV’s order-bank opened in July and deliveries are due to commence in April. It comes with improved specs and technology over predecessor models and benefits from the same batteries and powertrain as the e-Niro lineup.
