  • Citroen DS3 by Benefit Explores The Female Side Of The Range

Citroen-DS3-by-Benefit-THUMBHave you ever wondered how the ultimate woman’s car would look like? Well, Citroen and Benefit Cosmetics have the answer. Both brands have collaborated on a one-off version of DS3.

The colorful model is based on a range-topping DSport and is powered by Citroen’s THP 155 engine. The exterior of the model is inspired by colours from the Benefit palette and features brand’s signature pink and yellow ‘Candy Stripes’ motif and a graphic of the San Francisco skyline.

Everything in this car is made is stylish and even the alloy wheels exude a sweet candy-like character. They have been detailed in white and pink with the Benefit logo on the wheel rims, alongside the Citroen chevron centre caps.

The yellow wing mirrors harmoniously match the roof and give a slight contrast to the pink body. The same girlish design is transferred to the interior which has been upholstered in fine Italian leather with the Candy Stripe design on the seats, headrests and parcel shelf.

Pink detailing can be seen everywhere throughout the car, including the steering wheel, dashboard and centre console. There is also a “hello gorgeous” graphic on the passenger side of the dashboard.

In addition, in the coupe are featured bespoke LED lighting, luxurious deep pile floor mats with pink leather edging and Benefit ‘Iconic words of wisdom’ scatter cushions. Interesting feature here is the armrest, which has even been converted to house a custom makeup kit. Other highlights which will impress any woman include a handbag hook, fragrance dispenser, and an ornate vanity mirror emerging from the dashboard.

  • Step Out Of Line: Citroen DS3 [VIDEO]

Citroen-ds3-ad-THUMBThe newest Citroen DS3 advertisement, named “Step Out Of Line” reflects the non-conformist stance of the DS line. In fact, through this commercial the brand aims to motivate everyone to express their own personality.

The ad was filmed in some of the most famous streets of Paris – Boulevard Haussman, Place des Victoires, Pont de l’Europe, which were closed specially for the occasion. In addition, it also includes a cast of almost 250 extras wearing 500 costumes.

As one can see, the clip shows hundreds of men and women that are all marching in step in military-style parades. Whether they are businessmen, elegant women or fashion victims, what is common between them is that they are all strictly identical and march in tune to the music by DiscoBitch.

The parade continues until “Step out of Line” appears. At this point the Citroen DS3s and DS3 Cabrios, which are all different, make their appearance. The different combinations of bodywork, wheels, roofs and upholstery, emphasize that the vehicle are customizable and express individuality – in other words, they refuse to be submit the established codes.

  • Citroen DS3 WRC

Citroen Racing and Abu Dhabi now takes real shape with the presentation of the racing programmes for the 2013 season. The Citroen Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team’s line-up for this year’s FIA World Rally Championship will feature three crews: Mikko Hirvonen/Jarmo Lehtinen, Dani Sordo/Carlos del Barrio and Sébastien Loeb/Daniel Elena. Khalid Al-Qassimi will also be taking part in the majority of the WRC events, but will be competing first and foremost in the FIA Middle East Rally Championship.

“We are very proud to have forged a relationship with a partner that is as prestigious and dynamic as Abu Dhabi,” commented Yves Matton, Citroen Racing Team Principal.

“Like our long-time partner Total, Abu Dhabi will be visible across all our 2013 programmes: on the works teams competing in the WRC and the MERC (Middle East Rally Championship), but also in the Citroen Racing Trophy held in the main countries in Europe. Together, we are also committed to establishing a rally driver development programme with Abu Dhabi Racing.”, he added.

The eight-time World Rally Championship-winning works team – including five consecutive titles between 2008 and 2012 – will now be known as the Citroen Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team. Three cars will compete at each of the thirteen rounds on the WRC calendar. Lining up in all of the events in the no.2 DS3 WRC, Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen will be looking to win the Drivers’ title.

“Now that I have my first season with Citroen under my belt, I feel ready for this new challenge,” asserted the Finn. “I have been World Championship runner-up four times, so the next logical step is to aim for first place!”

The second DS3 WRC nominated to score points towards the Manufacturers’ World Championship will be driven by Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena at four rallies.

“We’ll start the season in Monte-Carlo and we’ll also be competing in Sweden, because it’s a rally that I would love to win in normal racing conditions. And I couldn‘t begin to think about missing the Rallye de France,” confirmed Seb.

  • Citroen DS3 Electrum Concept at the Paris Motor Show

    Citroen
is going to present the new DS3 Electrum Concept at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The technology used on the ‘plugged-in’ and ‘electrifying’ DS3 Electrum city car ensures performance consistent with the current DS3 together with zero emissions, a range of up to 75miles (120 km) and optimum on-board comfort with zero noise. Fully respecting the spirit of DS3, the Electrum concept shows that a full-electric car can be a thrill to drive and that being environmentally considerate doesn’t have to be boring.

DS3 Electrum’s electric drivetrain has an innovative and non-intrusive design. It has two 65kW electric motors on the front axle. This development makes it possible to ‘electrify’ existing internal-combustion vehicles. DS3 Electrum also includes a Panasonic 17.5kWh lithium-ion battery and a charging socket located under the fuel flap for connecting to quick charging stations. An 80% charge can be achieved in just 30 minutes.

Still, there are no pictures of the vehicle, so we expect the official premiere at this year’s Paris Motor Show to take a glimpse to the interesting vehicle.

    Stay tuned!

  • 2014 Citroen DS3 Cabrio – First Pictures Released

2014 Citroen DS3 Cabrio - Side2014 Citroen DS3 Cabrio will make its first world debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. This is the cabriolet version of the multi-award winning DS3 which uses intelligent design to make top-down driving considerably easier and more enjoyable.

The DS3 line-up was launched two years ago and immediately captured the hearts of many with its distinctive style and improved personalization options. Adding a convertible to the range, DS3 Cabrio doesn’t lack all the hallmarks and thrills of DS3, but instead delivers even bolder styling, sophisticated refinement, extensive personalisation and enjoyable handling, combined with the pleasure of al-fresco driving.

Furthermore it will continue Citroen‘s personalization philosophy by offering three soft-top roof styles – black, Infinite blue and a DS Monogrammed design. An innovative 3D rear light signature and original tailgate opening action are some of the refinements included.

Being totally urban and contemporary, the DS3 Cabrio delivers to customers electrically operated roof up to motorway speeds, 5-seater cabin and a large boot, in fact – the largest in the class.

Furthermore, the French brand announced the first details of the Cabrio. It is 3.95 m long, 1.71 m wide and 1.46 m high. This basically means that it keeps the hatchback’s compact and agile proportions.

All the unique styling choices are also retained. For example such are the “floating” two-tone roof and dynamic “shark fin”, the sculpted front-end with its instantly recognisable LED daytime running light signature.

However, an innovation is the soft-top roof, which is a source of personalization either. It will be available in a range of colors and designs that add to the model’s unique personality. In addition to this DS3 Cabrio can choose among seven body colors with the folding roof available in three designs – black, Infinite blue and DS Monogramme.

    2014 Citroen DS3 Cabrio - interior

The interior of this car includes white LED ambient lighting on the ceiling-mounted console, which in addition serves as a home to the roof opening control, white lighting around the instrument cluster and automatic air conditioning displays, high-end feel and outstanding acoustic comfort.

All-new upholstery is features, which includes Granit blue leather and Akinen weft available in Mistral (dark grey), Chic brown and Infinite blue. In color are made the decors on the dashboard strip, air vent surrounds and gear stick knob.

In particular, there are going to be available six decors: grey, Brillant black, white, Carbotech, Infinite blue and Moondust grey. The rear also features a new three-dimensional LED light signature.

An innovation here is the 3D LED tail-light technology. The central part of it is made of a rectangular set of 31 LEDs and semi-reflecting mirrors which reflect the light guide into infinity.

The 3D unit illuminates at night when the headlamps are turned on and in daylight during braking. A 15-LED blade on the upper part of the light emphasizes the 3D unit and serves as both side and stopping lights.

Another important detail in terms of innovations included is that the roof takes just 16 seconds to fully close up to speeds of 120km/h (75mph). Moreover, a button, positioned on the ceiling console, opens the roof to three positions: intermediate, horizontal and total.

Occupant space of the car perfectly fit for up to five adult. In addition, the DS3 Cabrio features the largest boot in its class estimated at 245-litres. The aerodynamics are identical to that of the hatchback. However some of the modifications here include adding a longer spoiler and aerodynamic deflectors on the quarter-light surrounds.

2014 Citroen DS3 Cabrio is going to be officially launched in the beginning of 2013.

  • Citroen DS Line and Sebastien Loeb Honored by International Automobile Festival

Citroen-DS-line-thumbThe Citroen DS is still young and ripe but already it has set on maturing into a hefty lineup : the DS3, DS4 and DS5. Unlike the standard range, the DS line with its bold design and bonkers features is for people with the driving enthusiasm of teenagers or lunatics. The Citroen DS5 is the latest addition to the line-up and the first one to feature Full Hybrid Diesel technology with the Hybrid4 version. It will join an already successful market of DS vehicles with around 180 000 units sold and counting.

And know, the International Automobile Festival has decided that the DS needs some recognition so the Design Grand Prize is rightfully allocated to Citroen to honor the vigorous design team and the car marque as a whole. The award was presented to Jean-Pierre Ploué, Director of Styling for the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group on 25 January at the official ceremony marking the 27th International Automobile Festival.

    Citroen DS Line

In the mean time, rally driver Sebastien Loeb who has been racing Citroens since 2001 and is the only driver in the world with eight consecutive World Rally Championship titles was honored by the Festival’s jury. Because of him, Citroen has enjoyed much success as a manufacturer of rally cars (seven titles to be exact). This year is looking good too, as he has already sealed a victory at Monte Carlo, the first rally of the new season, which took place last weekend. That success story is the reason to honor Loeb’s exceptional sporting career by presenting him with a Palme d’Or (golden palm) award.
