  • 2015 Dodge Viper Gets More Horsepower and $15k Price Drop

2015-Dodge-Viper-SRT-THUMBGood news for all 2015 Dodge Viper future buyers: the new starting price of the MY 2015 model is $15,000 USD less than the 2014 model it replaces. In addition, Dodge is giving the snake more horsepower and improved fuel economy. The new model year version of the Viper SRT will produce 645 horsepower (474 kW) and get up to 20 miles per gallon.

Dodge launched the original 1992 Dodge Viper priced at $50,700 USD, which adjusted for inflation equates to $86,130 in today’s dollars. This is even more compared to the price tag for the MY2015 Viper (see below). The first generation model 400 horsepower (294 kW), it didn’t have air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control or … even have real windows. This made it the rawest American performance car of its time.

On the contrary, the fifth generation Viper, which maintains the purity of the original car through its seductive design, perfect weight balance and all-aluminum V10, adds 245 horsepower and five-mode ESC, two-mode suspension, ABS, traction control, launch control and a lightweight carbon fiber, magnesium and aluminum structure.

Furthermore, Dodge is also introducing various product enhancements, new packages and new colors for the 2015 Viper. The SRT is getting new accent stitching on the seats and instrument panel as well as Alcantara accents on the doors and instrument panel, and ‘Viper’ badged aluminum sill plates.

In addition, the GT now comes enhanced with Nappa leather seats with Alcantara inserts, Alcantara accents on the doors and IP, ‘Viper’ badged aluminum sill plates, two-mode suspension, five-mode ESC, ‘GTS’ hood and two-piece StopTech slotted rotors. The GTS Ceramic Blue Special Edition has an exclusive Ceramic Blue exterior color scheme accented by Black stripes.

At last, the TA 2.0 Special Edition is improved via the high-performance Aero Package. 2015 Viper is also getting three new exterior paint colors: Y’Orange, Stryker Orange and Stryker Purple.

The production of 2015 Dodge Vipers will begin in the second half of the fourth quarter of 2014. The cars will be arriving in dealerships in the first quarter of 2015 with a starting price of $84,995 USD.

  • GeigerCars Dodge Ram 1500

    Dodge-RAM-1500-tDodge-RAM-1500-651
Dodge RAM 1500 is now presented to us with breathtaking variation. In my opinion it’s probably the best looking full-size pick up truck on the road. It was named a “Motor trend truck of the year 2014”, the only vehicle to win that award in back-to-back years.

This award winning, half ton pickup truck is equipped with the new 3.0 liter V6 Common Rail turbo diesel engine, with the maximum performance of 241 hp (179 kW). With a maximum torque peak of 569 Nm (419 lb-ft). Highly manageable consumption rate of just 7.5 liters(100 km), ( 38 mpg UK or 31.3 mpg US), along with a brand new automatic 8-gearbox, pneumatic suspension and huge trailer load of a maximum of 3,500 kg Dodge RAM 1500 4×4 Crew Cab Ram Box 3.0l V6 EcoDiesel, makes us happy and mostly surprised to witness its overwhelming leadership over the Nissan Navara which has a slightly different gearbox of just 7 levels.

What I really like about that Dodge Ram is how wide the doors open with a great entryway. As far as for legroom, there is plenty of space in the backseat position with enough space for your knees, providing enough room to feel as comfortable as you can. The headroom is great, and even better with a indent at the top of the roof line which provides extra room for the taller ones.

The leather interior is what I like as well, with its brown on tan color scheme. A folding armrest placed at the middle of the backseat to which you can lean on, along with a pair of cup holders. There are also two cup holders on the floorboard. An 8.4 inch touchscreen display has all the navigation controls you can access and work on making your driving a lot easier.

The rear view camera position is right next to the handle of the tailgate which allows you to see how close you are to the trailer hitch, assuming you want to attach a trailer or a boat. A few other safety items, like parking sensors positioned all along the rear bumper, along with duo exhaust tips. The Dodge Ram 1500 behaves extremely well and handles itself good in deep snow and rough terrain.

  • Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept: Muscle Car or an Off-Roader?

Dodge-Challenger-AT-Untamed-Concept-THUMBDodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept combines two worlds: the one of the iconic American muscle car and the one of the off-road universe. This Challenger is sleek enough for the city nightlife and rough enough for the off-road landscape. It visual appearance looks extreme and because of this it catches the attention immediately. It looks “more muscle” than ever. Joey Ruiter, who is responsible for this incredible work, pushed the performance, power and capabilities of the iconic Dodge from the street to the dirt.He has customized almost everything – from body armor to racing seats, this ride is “ready for some serious use”. Precisely, the car has received new front long travel arms, rear trailing arm with links and body armor with rock sliders. The designer has also added new fender flares, front skid plate, integrated lower light bar and of course the distinctive A/T logo badge. But if you think that the customization stopped here, you might take into consideration the following body modifications, which include wheel well trimming, inner fender wall construction, exhaust tuck and reposition, off-road tool storage and spare tire truck mount. As one can see the muscle car form the outside has some graphic twin striping. Furthermore, being a true off-roader with some serious amount of power under the hood (just thinks about the Hellcat engine), the car needed more safety equipment. Unfortunately this project is only in a concept form, but we are impatient to see it become a reality very soon!

  • 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat – 635WHP [video]

K&N Air Filters has published a video on Youtube showing the real power of the epic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The fastest and most powerful muscle car in the world has even more horsepower than officially stated. It has been put to dynotest by Motor Trend team and showed amazing 635WHP (467 kW) and 798Nm (591 lb-ft) at the rear wheels, which is 722HP (531 kW) and 914Nm (672 lb-ft) at the crankshaft.

This is “just” 15HP and 34Nm more than the officially stated figures of – 707HP (527 kW) and 880Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque produced by the mighty 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine under the hood. What is more, the American car manufacturer has recently unveiled the Charger SRT Hellcat, which is the fastest saloon on the planet (non-tuned).

Other nice highlight is that the speedometer stopped at 202 mph (325 km/h), but the revcounter continued to build speed. If we pause the video, when the speedometer is at 202 mph, we can see that the engine is at 5,300RPM. The rev limiter is at 6,000RPM, so at 8 gear the car will be going theoretically with 229 mph (368 km/h).

    Enjoy the video!

    Enjoy!

  • Trans Am Series Debut for 2014 Dodge Challenger SRT

2014-Dodge-Challenger-SRT-THUMB2014 Dodge Challenger SRT made a Trans Am Series premiere this weekend. Miller Racing team drove two Dodge Challenger SRTs at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The four-time series champion Tommy Kendall drove the No. 11 Dodge Challenger SRT, while his teammate and TA2 points leader Cameron Lawrence drove the No. 1 Challenger. Miller Racing gave the team a more-robust support base. In fact, Kendall won four championships in the 1990s and he last competed in the Trans Am Series in 2004.

The driver is best known for winning championships in Trans Am and IMSA. He is also popular with his victory in the 1995 Rolex 24 At Daytona as well as a television analyst for Fox Sports 1 and NBC Sports. Another interesting fact here is that Kendall has the third most Trans Am victories with 28. On the other hand, his teammate – Lawrence, has captured 14 wins in 21 series starts since 2012.

Miller Racing has switched the manufacturers to Dodge but this won’t keep of Lawrence from retaining his TA2 class points. The 21-year-old driver currently holds a 35-point margin over second place. The driver expressed his wish to continue the success he had and to stay on top and keep the season rolling.

The Miller Racing team was “born” in 2012. During the 2013 Trans Am Lawrence won eight of 10 events in the TA2 class, including the last seven-consecutive races. The team has captured 18 Trans Am victories in 26 races over three seasons.

Next to the newly formed partnership with Miller Racing, SRT Motorsports also fields two Dodge Viper SRT GTS-Rs in the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, and supports a customer racing program with the Dodge Viper SRT GT3-R in the IMSA TUDOR series, Pirelli World Challenge and Supercar Challenge.

Dodge has announced the addition of the popular Blacktop Appearance Package to the award-winning 2014 Durango three-row SUV. Now with the addition of the Durango the package can be found on seven 2014 Dodge models including the Charger, Challenger, Avenger, Dart, Journey and Grand Caravan.

The main function of the Blacktop Appearance Package is to bring a distinctive, sporty and sinister look to the vehicles that make use of it. It features unique Gloss Black 20-inch aluminum wheels, dual rear exhaust with bright tips offering 295 horsepower (217 kW) with the V6 engine and 360 horsepower (265 kW) with the HEMI® V-8 engine, a Gloss Black crosshair grille with matching grille surround, Gloss Black side mirrors, Gloss Black exterior badging, black headlamp bezels, body color fascia and moldings, and five options for exterior paint colors. The Blacktop Appearance Package is available on Durango SXT, Limited and R/T models.

“The rear-wheel-drive based Dodge Durango is already one of a kind. It stands out as the Charger of the three-row SUV segment,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO – Dodge Brand and SRT Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Now with Blacktop Package, customers can make it even more unique, and it’s customized by the factory.”

Apart from the Blacktop Package, the new 2014 Dodge Durango offers a number of improvements that include a new standard eight-speed automatic transmission, better fuel economy and performance, new LED exterior lighting, an internal 5-inch or 8.4-inch touch screen, a new programmable instrument cluster and a high-definition dual-display Blu-Ray entertainment system.

The Blacktop Package now applies to the Dodge Durango SXT, Limited and R/T models but there is some differentiation when it comes to the extras included. To the SXT models the Blacktop Package adds Gloss Black 20-inch aluminum wheels, dual rear exhaust with bright tips, Gloss Black crosshair grille with matching grille surround, Gloss Black side mirrors, Gloss Black badging, black headlamp bezels, and body-color fascias and moldings. • 2015 Dodge Viper To Get Extra Horsepower

The latest news around the Dodge Viper from the model year 2015 is that it is going to get more engine power. The car’s engine won’t be supercharged nor be the most powerful Dodge’s Hellcat V-8. On the contrary, it will keep its naturally-aspirated 8.4-liter V10 unit which will be boosted with the minor 5 horsepower. The increase of power will be done via tuning.

This means that the initial 640 hp (471 kW) of the Viper will become in the 2015 model year 645 hp (474 kW). Unfortunately, there will be no change in the torque figures in this Dodge, so it will be left with the original 813 Nm (600 lb-ft). Still, not bad at all.

Reports stated that the increase in power will probably be due to a combination of enhanced breathing and altered code. We also expect to see some changes in the transmission, which for the MY2014 was the six-speed manual gearbox.

The 2014 Version of the SRT Viper has a curb weight of just 1,521 kg (3,354 lbs) and Dodge seems to make little or no modifications here. With the original 640 hp, the Viper can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in the impressive 3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 331 km/h (206 mph). The ¼ mile is covered in 11.5 seconds, while the 0 to 160 km/h sprint is covered in less than 12 seconds. Wonder what these figures will look like with the minor 5 hp update.

  • Inspired Autosport 2014 Dodge SRT Viper GTS

Inspired Autosport has unveiled their project based on 2014 Dodge SRT Viper GTS. The extremely powerful sports coupe has received even more power and exceptional stance from the tuning specialists.

The 2014 SRT Viper GTS is powered by an all-aluminum 8.4 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine – 640HP (471 kW) and 813Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The curb weight of the vehicle is just 1,521 kg (3,354 lbs). 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 331 km/h (206 mph). The ¼ mile is covered in 11.5 seconds and 0-160-0 km/h in less than 12 seconds.

Inspired Autosport has boosted the engine to 700HP (522 kW). The result is thanks to a complete titanium sports exhaust system, an Agency Power CAI (cold air intake) and an ECU re-map.

The exterior boasts a complete 3M frozen black body wrap giving the sports car a unique and aggressive look. The stance is improved by a set of Eibach coil springs and a set of light alloy wheels – 20” at the front and 21” at the rear fitted with Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires measuring 355/25 ZR21 (rear).

No words about pricing, but a regular 2014 Dodge SRT Viper GTS is priced from $122,390 in the US. The standard equipment includes a rearview camera, SAT NAV system, HD radio, 12-speakers Harman-Kardon audio system with two subwoofers and Uconnect infotainment.
