Dodge Dart Race Car

Dodge and SRT Motorsports has revealed the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart rally car, which will be piloted by four-time Rally America Champion and 17-time X Games Gold Medalist Travis Pastrana. He will compete in the 2012 Global RallyCross Championship (GRC) Series.

“At Dodge, racing is an integral part of our heritage and embodies our competitive spirit, so we’re very excited to announce the next chapter in racing for Dodge with our all-new Dodge Dart,” commented Reid Bigland, President and CEO – Dodge Brand.

“The new Dart Global RallyCross Championship car with 600 horsepower and driver Travis Pastrana takes our passion for performance to all new heights.”, he added.

Travis is very popular athlete and one of the most appreciated from the motorsport fans. He had over 6 million Google searches in 2010 and more than 3.5 million Facebook followers. He is just 28 years old and we hope that the upsurge in his career will continue.

“When I first heard about GRC, I was really interested, and after watching some of the rounds last year and then actually competing at X Games I was hooked!” said Pastrana.

“Now to be able to partner with Dodge to field my own program this year is a dream come true. The new Dodge Dart offers the perfect platform for rally cross, and I look forward to putting it on the podium all season long!”, he mentioned.

Dodge Dart is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 600HP (441 kW) and 745Nm (550 lb-ft) of torque. All that power is sent to the road through a Sedav 4-wheel drive gearbox.

Global RallyCross is a spin-off of the X Games rally races. It combines the skill of rally racing with the excitement of X Games. The revolutionary motorsports series enters its second season and features high-flying extreme competition between cars that are relevant to today’s youth. The series consists of seven racing events in closed-course rally tracks and incorporates bumper-to-bumper competition among 600 horsepower all-wheel drive vehicles. There are 70-foot jumps over racing traffic, creating a “motocross with cars” action.

The series begins May 26 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and concludes Sept. 29 in Las Vegas. Also included are races at X Games scheduled for June 30-July 1 in Los Angeles. It’s one of the most anticipated stops on the schedule. The ESPN family of channels will broadcast live coverage of the entire 2012 race series.

Dodge Durango Special Service

If you are contemplating a local bank robbery, make sure the police force at your area still hasn’t received its batch of specially made Dodge Durangos. They will be designated by the term “Special Service” and, much like the Dodge Charger Pursuit, will serve the law enforcement or, by choice, the fire department or any other fleet out there. Either way, we are looking at a lean, mean machine, designed to rule over all sorts of terrains and offer as much versatility as possible.

A standard Dodge Durango comes with two engine choices: A 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 delivers 290 bhp and a range of 550 miles on a single tank. Then there’s the upper edge HEMI V8 with 360 bhp and the healthy 390 lb.-ft. of torque. The former has a towing capacity of 6200 lbs while the latter – 7400 lbs. And that load will cling on as standard equipment includes Trailer-sway Control.

The Special Service Durangos come with this very same engine choice with the possibility of being either RWD or AWD. But because the cargo area here is custom made to fit the needs of whomever might be using it, several performance components had to be beefed up – the breaks are new, there’s a heavy-duty battery now and a larger alternator. The water pump and engine oil cooler have also been replaced.

Standard Durangos already have 30 storage areas scattered around but the Special Service vehichles offer even more diversity – under-floor storage compartments and additional storage in the side compartments. Also, one might find service interior dome lamp and headliner and spot lamp wiring prep as additional extras. The otherwise commonly present third row of seats has been sacrificed, but it is all for the better good.

Since Servicepeople already put their lives at great risks, why not offer them some sense of security inside at the very least. That’s why these Durangos come with a full package of safety features such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), electronic roll mitigation (ERM) and Hill-start Assist/ There are seat-mounted and side-curtain air bags in the front row. The side one reaches out for the second row as well, and the third, non-existent one.

Chrysler Group fleet operations will start taking orders now, with deliveries expected to begin in the second quarter of 2012 so fugitives for now will still have some room to breathe. However, just by looking at the gallery here, I already feel discouragement of indulging myself into a life of crime.

2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Dodge Charger to compete in NASCAR

SRT Motorsports has just showed the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Dodge Charger that will compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series next season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS). What the designers basically did is to expertly incorporate the Dodge Charger Features into the racing version. From the beginning they have worked in collaboration with NASCAR. From NASCAR they got all the basic specifications. However, the manufacturers also wanted a new look of to venture beyond the look of the current race car. The design and engineering group of Dodge transformed the Dodge Charger street version into the race car. In fact, the Dodge Charger street car is the only rear-wheel-drive model in Sprint Cup competition that is available with a V-8 engine. In addition, NASCAR eased rules on where manufacturers could put glass and solid body pieces. 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit

The new 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit is designed and engineered to be a high-performance police vehicle. It is in two models: V-6 and V-8, which will set new levels of performance during the Michigan State Police’s (MSP) 2012 Police Vehicle Evaluation tests. The V-8 model is powered by 5.7-liter HEMI engine, which delivers best-in-class 370 hp (272 kW) and therefore could deliver the fastest lap time ever recorded (1:33.70) during MSP’s 2012 Police Vehicle Evaluation tests last fall. In addition, Charger Pursuit V-6 models with their the 292 hp (215 kW) showcased their world-class performance and precision with the fastest average lap times for naturally aspirated (1:37.71) and E-85 capable (1:37.57) six-cylinder powered police cars.

The 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit V-8 also delivered the police sedan segment’s fastest acceleration times and covered the 0 to 60 mph for just 5.83 seconds.

Most Collectible Cars from the Present

Here is a short list of some of the most collectible cars from the present, which in my opinion, are going to cost even more amount of money in the near or distant future. They are unique in several aspects, including style, speed, expense and produced examples of their particular model. Such cars are driven for prestige and are considered as a symbol for high status.

Let’s start with Dodge Viper, which undeniably is one of the most famous cars ever produced. Its production started back in 1992 and continues till now. The vehicle has 6 speed manual transmission which allows the person behind the wheel to experience the excitement of driving. Moreover it is usually equipped with very powerful engine which produces a pleasant roaring sound and in some versions achieves the whole 600 hp (442 kW). Therefore, if you seat behind the steering wheel with the aim to achieve the top speed, then you’ll get up to 202 mph (325 km/h). Undoubtedly, this model is an emblematic one for the American automotive history and I am sure that one day models will cost a lot.

Next comes the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which production started in the near past – in 2009 and since then it is still being produced. Although it has a short history, it is the most powerful Corvette ever made. It includes six speed manual transmission, but unlike the previous discussed vehicle, it can produce the astonishing 638 hp (470 kW) at 6,500 rpm of torque. The top speed here is 205 mph (325 km/h)! It definitely deserves the investment, because it is going to be one of the most desirable collectables in the future.

Here comes the luxury Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren without which the sport car industry wouldn’t be the same. Its production began in the 2003 and lasted till 2010. Unlike the Corvette and the Viper, it has five speed automatic gearbox. Here the Mercedes achieves the 617 hp (454 kW) at 6,500 rpm, but its maximum speed is higher than Corvettes. This vehicle can reach up to 208 mph (335 km/h). And the price as well is far grater than the ZR1’s. The last one costs around $100 000. The Mercedes however, is estimated around $ 450 000. What is so typical and emblematic about this model, are its unmistakable gullwing doors.

There is a real rarity present to our attention – the two door coupe named Lamborghini Reventón, which production lasted just one year (from 2008 till 2009). What makes this car so special and priceless is that you can’t see it on the streets very often. And this isn’t due to its high price (which by the way is estimated around $1.6 million dollars), but due to the fact that there is only twenty of it produced! This beauty, has a six speed manual or six-speed paddle shift transmission, and as you expect its engine is a powerful V12 6,5 liter one. Hence, it produces the astonishing 650 hp (478 kW) at 8,000 rpm of torque. The top speed is exactly 211 mph (340 km/h).

Without a doubt a collectible one is Bugatti Veyron, for anyone who can afford it of course. It costs around 1,7 million dollars and since 2005, when it production started, is one of the most appealing cars to the famous people. Its acceleration, which for only 2.5 seconds goes from 0 to 100 km/h, is due to the unbelievable 1001 hp (736 kW) at 6,000 rpm! And not to forget the maximum speed of 268 mph (431 km/h) which makes the car one of the fastest cars in the world! But wait this is not all! The new hyper car model, which is going to make its debut in 2013, will be also powered by the famous 8.0 liter W16 quad-turbo engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Moreover, it is expected to achieve more than 1200 hp (895 kW)! This makes it a real collectable car even before its official release, isn’t it!

2013 Dodge Viper SRT [teaser]

Street & Racing Technology would be teasing the new 2013 Dodge Viper on Facebook, but there is one condition – 10 000 likes before 1st February. It is pretty good advertising for Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge.

Still, the task wasn’t so hard and the page has even more likes, that’s why the teaser was released even earlier. It is hard to say anything about the car, because we can see only several lines, which are most likely from a hand drawn picture, instead of a real car.

The new 2013 Dodge Viper is expected to be at the 2012 New York Auto Show in April. Can’t way too see it’s real shape and more important – the performance characteristics.

A Mossy Oak Ram Truck

With numerous cabin sizes and a variety of engine choices, the Ram Ttruck has a lot to offer in terms of versatility and character. But those who want that extra something on top or they just fancy a hunt should turn to Mossy Oak Graphics. It is a company that has formed a close collaboration with Ram (separate from Dodge) with the end result being the Ram 1500 Mossy Oak® Edition – a camouflaged, army green, four-door pickup truck.

Ironically, the most striking feature are the leafy, muddy patterns that decorate the truck’s body. It is a special sort vinyl (3M™ premium cast vinyl) that is said to be resistant to shrinking, cracking, fading, shredding and peeling. Everything about the Ram feels right about off-road hunting except the fact that no matter how good of a camouflage it has, one can never conceal the clutter of a diesel or the rumble of a HEMI.

2013 Dodge Dart with Mopar Accessories and Performance Parts

No surprise is that the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart will arrive in the showrooms later this year. However the great news is that it will offer more than 150 different accessories and performance parts all delivered by Mopar®, from which the customers can choose. The aim here is to deliver to the customers even more customization and personalization.

To have a glimpse over what is going to be offered by Mopar, we have made a selection of the most attention catching and performance parts for the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart. First, let’s begin with the Performance Styled Hood. This is a carbon fiber scooped hood, designed to give the vehicle an aggressive and sporty appearance. Next comes the Performance Braking Upgrade, which features upgraded calipers, rotors and performance pads to provide increased braking power. In the Unique Grille chrome aluminum, replaces production grille below the bumper to provide a unique appearance. Mopar also offers Grille Cross-hatch Insert – a carbon fiber-style finish, which attaches to Dodge cross hatch over grille area, perfect for enhancing the “tuner” image. Of course there are also Side Sills, again in Matte Black, which are attached to side rocker panels to provide a sportier appearance. The Rear Deck Lid Spoiler is also in Matte Black, and also attaches to rear deck lid for a sporty appearance. Furthermore there is a Chrome Fuel Door, which was made of chrome aluminum and replaces the production fuel door. In details it coordinates with Chrome Mirror Covers and stainless steel B-pillar appliqué. And these Chrome Mirror Covers are also chrome-plated. They replace the production mirror cover. Next, the B-Pillar Appliqué is made from polished stainless steel; it is attached to the b-pillar area and enhances the appearance of the vehicle. The Pedal Kit has the unique bright finish – it has to be attached to gas and brake pedals to enhance driver’s foot well appearance.

An important highlight to be mentioned here is that Moper also offers the unique Industry-first Wireless Charging. In details, battery-powered devices can be now charged with this new system. It also allows driver to set electronic devices in a specified charging zone and charge without wires. Chrysler Group and Beats™ by Dr. Dre™ announced at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today the next level in their bold new partnership. It will bring about the studio quality sound experience of Beats™ Audio into the new 2012 Dodge Charger. The goal is to integrate a recording-studio quality audio experience for everyone who wants to feel and hear their favorite music as it was intended. In addition the project will debut at the same time at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where audiophiles will be able to experience for the first time demonstrations of the Beats by Dr. Dre audio system. The two companies have worked together in order to design and tune the 10-speaker audio system. Short preview on next weeks North American International Auto Show

Everything about this year’s North American International Auto Show will spin around small vehicles. As the population grows big and hence the customers of vehicles too, there is obviously the tendency of making more downsized automobiles. The North American International Auto Show will take place next week in Detroit. In addition, there will also be a premiere of the automotive world’s most eagerly anticipated new vehicle. The North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week will also be full of luxury and innovation. Another important highlight is that there will be a huge “invasion” of hybrid vehicles as automakers compete to boost fuel economy. The North American International Auto Show 2012 is undeniably where the global automotive community comes together to catch up on the latest news and events.

In short this is what we are going to see just in few days:

Strongly anticipated at this Auto Show is the Acura brand. First, there will be presented a brand new concept called Acura NSX. This is a high-performance hybrid with a V-6 engine mated to a lithium ion battery pack. It will be developed and expected on the market in three years. Speaking about the immediate future there is the 2012 and 2013 Acura ILX Sedan, and also the redesigned 2013 RDX Compact Crossover, which will be powered by a V-6 replacing a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.From Audi we expect to see a refreshed model of a small sporty sedan and a crossover concept. The next brand with a downsized automobile is Buick, which will reveal a new small crossover, called 2013 Buick Encore. From Cadillac we expect the ATS Sedan, which, as promised will be launched in the second half of this year. Chevrolet will present a sporty RS modification of the Sonic Subcompact with a new front image and grille, and a six-speed manual included. In addition we are going to see two concept vehicles from Chevrolet. Dodge will thrill us with the new 2013 Dodge Dart with a lot of powertrain options and Dodge Charger styling cues. The Dart will be at dealerships in the first half of this year. Ford brand will present at the NAIAS its renewed version of 2013 Fusion which now is with smoother lines, has an engines with direct injection and turbochargers, and a hybrid. Honda will redesign its Accord model in the middle of the year and will also show a new Accord Coupe Concept. This will be a great show for the brand Hyundai which will unveil the turbocharged four-cylinder Veloster. Another preview will be made with a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe which has now a new grille and front fascia and a brand new interior. From Lexus we expect to see the LF-LC Coupe Concept and we also expect to get the answer whether this vehicle will be hybrid or not. Lincoln will appear with a concept of the new generation MKZ Sedan. A lot of success is going to be expected again from the brand Mercedes-Benz. First of all there will be a presentation of the redesigned 2013 Mercedes SL Roadster, which is now longer and lighter than the previous model and has a new all-aluminum body. In addition the SL550 will be powered by a new 4.6-liter direct-injection V-8. Furthermore the luxury brand will present two E-Class Hybrids: the E400 Hybrid Sedan and the E300 BlueTec Hybrid. We can’t continue without mentioning the MINI brand which will “show-off” with their 2012 Roadster which will be in dealerships in February. Nissan Pathfinder Concept will be previewed by Nissan which will also show an electric version of the NV200. The luxury of Porsche will be presented by the 911 Carrera and Carrera S models which will go on sale in few months. Scion is a Toyota sub-brand which will show a new model of FR-S Coupe. The smallest of all small cars – Smart, will exhibit a two-seat electric pickup concept called the Smart For-Us. The Toyota brand of course will compete with a plug-in hybrid concept called the NS4. In addition it will also show the production version of the 2012 Prius C Hatchback. Another European car – Volkswagen will preview a hybrid, called 2013 Jetta Hybrid. And at last the Swedish brand Volvo has prepared for us a surprise with a new Hybrid concept will be firstly revealed at the North American International Auto Show.
