Hennessey shows the potential of its HPE850 Hellcat

It is clear that the stock Hellcat is a very cool muscle car. But it is also as plainly as anything that the modified Hennessey HPE850 Hellcat is better than any production version. But have you ever asked yourself, what exactly would happen between those two in a Street Fight. You don’t have to wonder anymore, because Hennessey Performance ha shot this amazing “Street Fight video”.

The Hellcat is probably one of the Seven Wonders in the automotive world. It looks great, has that muscle car stance and performance and it features attitude. Maybe, it is not everybody’s cup of tea, but hey, we live in a free world. And it is exactly what I like.

For those wanting more from their muscle car cat-beast, Hennessey Performance has produced the so called HPE850 Upgrade. As the name shows, it boosts the power of the 707hp Challenger to the potent 850 hp and this happens at 6,200 rpm.

Here’s the boring information: the upgrade comprises of new ECU and upgraded tuning software. By the way, you can see the chassis dyno testing in the second video featured in this post. Going back to the point, the HPE850 also adds high flow air filter element, lower pulley upgrade that increases boost by 1-2 psi, port matched throttle body, Hennessey embroidered head rests for the interior as well as Hennessey and HPE850 exterior emblems. As usual, the performance company has featured serial numbers on the dash plaque and plaque in the engine compartment.

At last, we all know that the Hennessey Hellcat HPE850 was going to win. Maybe the point in this video was to show how much faster Hennessey’s variant is.

  • The Hellcat is back with 900HP and more aggressive than ever!

Prior-Design Dodge Challenger Hellcat front and side viewPrior-Design is mostly famous for its exclusive tuning and aerodynamic kits as well as beautiful sets of wheels. We can hardly expect from these experts engine uprating or even something that can bring out more from the inherent power of car’s powerplant. However, the case with their latest project is actually the opposite and we have surprisingly found that Prior-Design can actually make things pretty cool!

The chosen car is the newest Dodge Challenger Hellcat, which impresses with its stock output numbers coming from its 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 unit. Precisely, it produces a maximum output of 707 horsepower (520 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque, which is enough to enjoy hell-of-a-ride.

But… 707 hp seem not enough for many and this is why the performance of the Hellcat has been boosted up with additional 200 horsepower, making it up to over 900 hp (662 kW)! Sadly, we can’t tell how these extra horses were achieved because no official details were announced so far.

Besides the output uprating the car, the car received widened exterior via the addition of a PD900HC package. Thanks to it, the car achieve not only wider but more aggressive stance. Precisely, the aero kit comprises of an add-on spoiler for the front and rear, side skirts as well as trunk spoiler. The front and rear widenings have to be mentioned as well.

Contributing for the aggressive appearance are the bronze PD3Forged wheels as well. However, we do think that the chosen bronze color is rather… strange. Just for a comparison, the Canadian studio SR Auto Group has recently introduced their Hellcat based project, which we dig very, very much (click the link above for more info)! And we like the wheels, too!

  • This Red Hot Dodge Challenger coming directly from… Hell

Liberty Walk Dodge Challenger Hellcat by SR Auto front viewIf the devil had a ride it would be most definitely this Dodge Challenger Hellcat. With its Red Hot exterior paint scheme and one-off tuning pack, this is the most badass vehicle we have seen for awhile. Four different names are involved in the making, precisely Liberty Walk, KW, PUR Wheels and the Canadian tuning masters at SR Auto Group.

The tough part of the work can be attributed to the experts at the SR Auto, who have designed and put together this incredible project. As you can see nothing subtle is going on here. This Hellcat literally turns heads and breaks necks! And although we have already seen two examples of the unique Liberty Walk Challenger, this one proves to be the best out of them.

The first thing that the talented tuners have done here was to fit the Liberty Walk kit on. If you wonder what it comprises of, it is pretty simple (but very expressive): front and rear flare, and a rear spoiler.

From there they mounted a set of staggered twenty inch PUR LG06 wheels. They make the perfect harmony with the hellish exterior color of the Challenger with its matte black face and gloss DaVinci red step lip. As the experts say, “maintaining the whole red and black theme was a priority”. And it surely brings out great effect! The wheels were then shod with low-profile Michelins.

At last, but not least, the suspension which has brought the Dodge closer to the ground comprises of set of KW coilovers. Although we wanted to see a little bit engine tuning here, so that this Hellcat could perform even more devilish, the specialists have left the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 unit intact. This means that whoever is taking a ride in it will enjoy a maximum output of 707 horsepower (520 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb.-ft.) of torque.

  • Liberty Walk Dodge Challenger Hellcat Goes Green

Liberty Walk Dodge Challenger Hellcat Front and Side ViewLiberty Walk Dodge Challenger Hellcat might seem to you as a very common name if you follow our blog regularly. And it is common. We have seen a similar car a couple of months ago, which was the result of the joint work of Liberty Walk and SR Auto Group. Unlike the first white car, this example comes in toxic green exterior color and this and no other reason (like electric motor) makes the vehicle go green.

The pure raw American muscle car is basically another angry cat that has come out of SR Auto’s bag. The Canadian tuning specialists have given it a Liberty Walk wide body kit. And we must admit that it gives the Dodge menacing and fierce look.

Just like the white Hellcat, the widened body was supported by Airrex air suspension system, which lowers the height of the Challenger significantly. The lowered ride height and the wider body proportions just screamed that they need new wheels.

So, the expert heard that and decided to install a set of forged three-piece PUR LG05 wheels with a matte black diamond face and polished step lip. With a compressor in the trunk, the lines run through to all four corners to increase and decrease pressure. Oh, and have we mentioned that the wheels measure 20-inches?

But there is still one problem. We can not decide which car we like better: the white one or the green one? What’s your choice?

  • Liberty Walk and SR Auto Unite for Monstrous Dodge Challenger Hellcat

Liberty Walk Dodge Challenger Hellcat Front and Side View Liberty Walk Dodge Challenger Hellcat. This is the answer to the question “What is common between United States, Canada and Japan?” You might also ask, what does Canada have to do with it. Well, this is actually the first Liberty Walk Hellcat unleashed in Vancouver by our fellows at SR Auto Group. In addition, they also added some extra detailing, that makes the muscle car look even more astonishing!

Just take a look at the pictures below! I am already in love with this car, looking so menacing, purposeful and at the same time carrying something from the spirit of the legendary Challenger. I also adore the Liberty Walk kit, which seems that fits perfectly to the Dodge. And have you spotted the wheels?

    Balance Between Old and New

Continuing to the details here, basically the tuners at SR Auto added the front and rear fender flares from Liberty Walk’s kit. After doing this, something still didn’t feel right. And it was the height of the car. Actually, no Liberty Walk car would be complete without bringing it straight to the ground. This has happened with the help of Airrex Air System, which literally dropped the Dodge to the pavement.

At last, the experts added classy PUR LG01 wheels in gloss gold with polished step lip. They come in size of 20-inch at all four corners. And this is the element of the tuning which gives the car that good-old look we all love.

It is always nice to see such great projects, isn’t it? Only one thing makes me very sad. SR Auto didn’t say how much the car costs, so that I could start sparing some money.
