In fact, the Vengeance has been officially launched there, since we have seen slices of it through the previous months. The coach built two-door coupe, which is based on the Aston Martin DB9 chassis, is a synthesis of modern engineering and classic design.

Aston Martin DB9 GT and its drivetrain system

Definitely one of the most interesting parts of the car is the V8 engine, but there are another interesting components. For example, the special Touchtronic II six-speed gearbox, that comes with the special electronic shift-by-wire control system. The elegant pair of engine and transmission helps the Aston Martin DB9 GT to go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds and start chasing the top speed of 329 km/h (183 mph).

Furthermore, the suspension continues to deliver smooth drive, while the special three-stage Adaptive Damping System (ADS) ensures incredible dynamics with its three modes: Normal, Sport and Track. Surely each of them will find its place on the track and will serve as additional customization feature for every single customer.

Aston Martin DB9 GT and its interior

  • Kahn Shows Three Sketches of Vengeance Project

Kahn’s Vengeance is here! At least in sketches. Yes, the tuning company has released the first three detailed drawings of its exciting upcoming car. As we told you last week, the ambitious project will be based on another British classic, just like the Flying Huntsman based Defender). It will feature tuner’s specific WB12 wide body and will be built in Coventry, UK.

In addition, also confirmed today was the fact that the car will be a two-door coupe in “hammer formed aluminium”. My guess about the marque was completely right – it will be an Aston Martin, however – not a Vantage, but a DB9.

SEE ALSO: The Vengeance: Kahn Teases New Project

Yes, the coachbuilt car will use as a basis DB9’s chassis. The future wide body two-door coupe will have a muscular stance and as we can see from the sketches – aggressive design.

    Design

The specialists at Kahn always seek to push the boundaries of design. Project’s design is inspired by the 80s and 90s. This means that Vengeance follows the philosophy of volume and flowing curves over angular surfaces. As a result we will see a spectacular mix between old and new, between classic and contemporary design.

The details here are of importance. First, take a look at the widened rear wings, that are highlighted by lines projected from the signature bonnet bulge. And have you noticed the roof and the length of the car?

These visual characteristics are further emphasized by the striking front with this aggressive grille centerpiece. The polished stainless steel roof halo and window trim are accompanied by diminished rear windows.

Furthermore, this design treasure will be running on 16 spoke 20-inch wheel at the front coupled with 225 tyres and an 18 spoke 21-inch rear wheels mated with 335 tyres. The wheels are retro-inspired and will also have a two-tone body colour with the diamond cut outer section.

    Production

Since there is no information about the interior, the next important question is whether this car will see production. The answer is positive, and it will begin in 2015 with a limited run. What you should also know is that each vehicle will be hand built by Kahn’s team of experts and will carry an engraved plaque in the boot.

The same blue color has also been used for the soft top.

There is also a special mesh grille and even more special and elegant 10-spoke alloy wheels. The two-tone design scheme continues inside in the cabin. There we see the combination of Pearl White and Spectral Blue leather seats. The latter leather is used also for the air vents, while Cobalt Blue is used for the fascia trim.

DB9 Volante Morning Frost will be driven by 6.0-liter V12 engine. The unit produces 510 hp (375 kW) and 620 Nm (458 lb-ft) of maximum torque, and is coupled with a Touchtronic 2 six-speed transmission. The transmission helps the car accelerate effortlessly from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

  • 2013 Aston Martin DB9 – Full Specifications and Pricing Announced

2013-Aston-Martin-DB9-THUMB2013 Aston Martin DB9 has just been revealed in full details, showing significant developments affecting styling inside and out, plus core changes. Having the classic Aston Martin GT silhouette as its base, the new model has additionally emphasized rear boot “flip”, which improves the aerodynamics of the car.

The exterior of the DB9 has powerful but still elegant stance. The new Aston Martin sits low and wide. The inherent width is accentuated by the “light catcher” feature which runs from the lower front bumper and continues along the sill.

Bi-xenon headlamps are another highlight here. In addition there is also a large lower front grille which directs the air into the standard Carbon Ceramic Braking system. It also features five horizontal vanes which are chamfered to create an aerofoil profile. Integrated side strake and LED side-repeaters are also visible in the design.

The interior of the model is more luxurious than ever. A lot of attention to the detail has been paid here. For instance, DB9 comes with unique leather welt feature. Great craftsmanship can be seen in the jewel-like glass switchgear as well, which is utilized throughout the interior.

Additional interior option is the lightweight seats. These are available when the 2+0 seating option is chosen and use a state-of-the-art carbon fibre and Kevlar® composite structure. They save 17 kg per car and offer occupants more support at the shoulders.

More importantly, here is featured for the first time the new generation AM11 V12 engine. It has effortless torque of up to 620 Nm (458 lb-ft) and peak power of 517 hp (380 kW). Key features of the AM11 unit include a revised block and new head including dual variable valve timing, enlarged throttle bodies, uprated fuel pump, revised intake manifold and machined combustion chambers.

Furthermore, the DB9 boasts a number of important enhancements. The braking system for instance, now utilizes Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) discs and Brembo calipers. The new carbon brakes provide the confidence and reassurance of reduced brake fade when pressing the car to its sports capability.

In particular, the CCM consists of a compound of carbon fibre which is impregnated with silicon, injected into a mould and baked at ultra-high temperature. The resulting material is not only much tougher than conventional cast iron discs but also dissipates heat faster and provides reduced fading.

The brake rotors, mounted onto the bespoke disc bells, utilize “floating disc” system. This allows the discs to flex relative to their mountings thereby making them less prone to “judder”. In addition, here is featured also next generation Adaptive Damping System (ADS) with Normal, Sport and Track modes.

All the luxury equipment that one can wish comes as a standard here. Such are the automatic headlights, uutomatic windscreen wipers, arch-filling 20-inch alloys wheels in a variety of designs, full-grain leather interior, leather sports steering wheel, electrically adjustable Sports seats with side airbags, memory seats and exterior mirrors, satellite navigation, automatic temperature control, trip computer and Organic Electroluminescent (OEL) displays.

There are also optional choices such as reversing camera, two Carbon Packs -one exterior and one interior. The exterior pack comprises of carbon fibre front splitter and rear diffuser, carbon fibre mirror arms and caps and dark tailpipes with a graphitic finish. On the other hand the interior one offers a carbon fibre upper facia, carbon fibre gear selector paddles and carbon fibre door pulls.
