  • Honda’s “Never-Ending” CR-V YouTube Campaign is Simply Mesmerizing! [VIDEO]

Honda "The Endless Road’" Campaign Is there a better way to promote the newCR-V other than with an endless film? Obviously there isn’t, since Honda has just done this, which makes it the first company to create a ‘never-ending’ YouTube Film. This is part of an integrated campaign, called ‘The Endless Road’, which comes to advertise the latest CR-V. The campaign also aims at showing all new benefits of the model, starting with the expanded engine range and continuing to the improved equipment.

The endless video displays a vicious cycle, showing how Honda CR-V drives up a hill, chasing a spiraling road. And this never stops, literally. What is more fascinating however is that everything is personalized and happens in real time.

Another interesting fact that the company has revealed that since launch, this film will be always running, visually reflecting the time of day and weather of the particular location of the viewer. One can even click on other locations to see how it would change. And it does, but I won’t tell you more. Just try it.

The secret behind this commercial is that it uses a hypnotic visual illusion with the aim of demonstrating Honda’s constant pursuit for superiority. The video was filmed with the help of a one tenth scale model and a custom motion control rig. The latter was used to capture this mesmerizing illusion. Everything was shot by Nick Meek and led by “mcgarrybowen London creative agency.

You can view the film at HondaVideo YouTube channel, and also below, but you won’t get the same impression as at the interactive site. However, we also have added a ‘making-of’ video below, so you can fully enjoy the process.

  • See How Honda Have Updated the 2015 CR-V

A good start in 2015 for Honda CR-V! The car got some comprehensive updates that make it even more attractive. There is a new diesel engine and nine-speed automatic gearbox that aim to deliver great fuel economy. In addition, Honda has added a new technology, which is a world-first that comes to enhance occupant safety. There is an innovative app-driven connectivity system, which is now standard. And in terms of driving fun, the CR-V got reengineered. Of course, the designers did made some minor styling changes to the exterior.

First, the CR-V is offered with a more powerful diesel engine as well as an optional nine-speed automatic transmission. Furthermore, the new 160 PS 1.6-litre i-DTEC four-cylinder diesel engine will be available with four-wheel drive. The result: outstanding performance and low CO2 emissions.

The combination of both – new engine and nine-speed gearbox, will deliver exceptional fuel economy, which you can see in details below. Just to spoil it a bit: it is one of the best power-to-consumption ratio of any engine on sale today.

Honda Connect infotainment system is the second highlight in the list with updates. It will offer convenience and connectivity while on the road. Its key characteristics include DAB / FM / AM and internet radio, Bluetooth connectivity, internet browsing, satellite navigation and rear-view parking camera.

World-first active safety feature will also be a highlight in the facelifted CR-V. In fact, the car will premiere Honda’s new Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC) system as part of company’s commitment to ‘Safety for Everyone’. The system predicts and automatically reacts to other vehicles that are ‘cutting-in’ to the vehicle’s lane.

i-ACC does this via the use of camera and a radar to sense the position of other vehicles on the road. Combined with the enhanced suspension and optimised NVH measures, the new CR-V will definitely deliver more refined yet dynamic drive.

2015 Honda CR-V Facelift will be distributed only in Europe and is scheduled to arrive in showrooms this Spring.

  • 2015 Honda CR-V Gets New Powertrain and New Technology

Bolder and sportier than ever, the new 2015 Honda CR-V comes with a refreshed style, enhanced engine line-up and new technologies all of which contribute to the remarkable road presence of the car.

Thanks to the new 1.6-litre i-DTEC four-cylinder diesel engine, from Honda’s Earth Dreams Technologyseries, the power of the four-wheel drive CR-V is boosted to 160 PS while the maximum torque is that of 350 Nm. There is a choice of two transmissions: a six-speed manual that produces a class-leading sub 130g/km of CO2 emissions, or a new nine-speed automatic transmission. The latter emits less than 135 g/km of CO2.

The two-wheel drive diesel CR-V is powered by the 120 PS 1.6 litre i-DTEC engine with emissions as low as 115 g/km. Nevertheless, the 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which develops 155 PS is still available.

Some of the most visible alterations are seen on the front due to the restyled headlamps flowing into the new grille. What is more, the appearance of the CR-V is further improved thanks to the new bumper and skid plate. The LED combination lamps at the rear have been reworked too and now provide the 2015 Honda CR-V with “a more fluid, three-dimensional appearance.”

In terms of technology, European buyers will take advantage of the first use of Honda Connect which represents the company‘s innovative new app-driven infotainment system. It includes: internet access, nine pre-installed apps – as well as access to the Honda App Center – optional Garmin satellite navigation, audio display, AM/FM/DAB and internet radio, phone interface and Bluetooth connectivity. Finally, it offers a rear-view parking camera with functional guidelines, as well as vehicle information like trip meter, fuel economy and journey time.

  • 2015 Honda CR-V Makes European Debut Tomorrow

2015-Honda-CR-V-THUMBSwindon-built 2015 Honda CR-V has new looks to show and it will do that at the Paris Motor Show, which starts tomorrow. The iconic for the brand SUV gets more powerful 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel engine from the Earth Dreams Technology series, which generates 160 horsepower (118 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). The unit will be mated with a nine-speed automatic transmission, thus delivering reduced emissions and improved fuel economy.

The refreshed model has brand new features such as the headlamps, front grille, fog lights, skid-plate and bumper. At the back of the car, the CR-V gets new LED combination lamps, a refreshed tailgate design and bumper.

Furthermore, the aforementioned engine will be hidden under the hood of the four-wheel drive model. This powertrain delivers outstanding performance and low CO2 emissions, and comes to substitute the previous 2.2 litre i-DTEC diesel.

When the unit is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission the CR-V emits below 130 g/km of CO2. Even more: when the engine is matched to the new nine-speed automatic transmission, the CO2 emissions of less than 135 g/km. This rating is up to 20% better than the previous generation.

The two-wheel drive diesel CR-V will be equipped with the well-known 120 hp (88 kW) PS 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel engine, and when coupled with the manual transmission it will emit just 117 g/km of CO2.

The official reveal of the model will happen tomorrow, at Honda’s stand at the Paris Motor Show during a press conference.

The SUV will go on sale on 1st of October, while the complete information about it will be available on 30th of September. The photo you see above is the official image which Honda has just released prior the full reveal.

Judging by it we see some new LEDs as well as sleeker, redesigned fog lamps with chrome surrounds on the front bumper. Other changes on the model feature mirrors with integrated turning signals and brand new alloy wheels.

Moreover, the updated small SUV also include triple chrome horizontal bars. This brings the CR-V’s front fascia in line with Honda’s latest models. • Third generation Honda CR-V Paramedic Response Unit

Honda-CR-V-Paramedic-Response-Unit-THUMBHonda CR-V Paramedic Response Unit will now help the UK’s emergency organizations. In their opinion it is the best vehicle for this purpose because of its outstanding practicality, versatility and interior space.

Furthermore, Honda‘s popular SUV has been also used by the Welsh Ambulance Service, which has ordered over 30 examples of the third-generation SUV in the last year. On the other hand, the Scottish Ambulance Service has taken delivery of more than 40 in the last 24 months.

Honda CR-V makes an outstanding “first response” vehicle for 999 services. It has car-like dynamics and advanced all-wheel drive system. This leads to the conclusion that it can access the most remote locations quickly, while the torque and fuel-efficient 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine makes it quick under ‘blue light’ conditions and inexpensive to run.

Scottish Ambulance have introduced the CR-V as the base vehicle for all PRUs. This also means that the vehicle will deliver additional four wheel drive into the winter months.

  • 2012 Honda CR-V Facelift [VIDEO]

2012-Honda-CR-V-Facelift-TThe facelifted 2012 Honda CR-V is the fourth generation of the emblematic model, which has appeared for the first time in 1995. The facelift include modifications on every level of this Honda model.

First of all, the length and height of the car have been reduced by 5mm and 30mm respectively compared with the current model. However, the interior space of the SUV is not reduced.

The new CR-V has more aggressive and aerodynamic stance with deeper sculpting of the bodylines and a bolder nose section. The front bumper’s smooth, flowing lines are joined by a horizontal three-bar grille and deep-set headlights.

Furthermore, the CR-V’s signature vertical rear brake lights are now more three-dimensional style. In addition, the front LED daytime running lights and rear LED lights are other stylish enhancements.

This means that now the vehicle has sleeker proportions. Moreover, the rear seats fold flat, so the boot capacity of the CR-V has grown by 148 litres to 164 litres. This means that the boot of the CR-V can now accommodate two mountain bikes or four sets of golf clubs.

    2012 Honda CR-V Facelift
    2012 Honda CR-V Facelift

What about the interior of the Honda? Of course, there were made several important modifications.

For instance, the major controls have been further grouped according to their function. Here is the “driver interface zone” which is positioned behind the steering wheel as well as the “information interface zone” in the centre of the cabin.

The materials used of course are only high quality ones and have been carefully chosen for the European market. A lot of attention has been put on the details as well.

The interior enhancements include impressive range of equipment that has been added. It features 5 inch “intelligent” Multi-Information Display (i-MID), which controls the audio, telephone and navigation systems.

Next, the front seats incorporate the new whiplash mitigation system. These seats work in conjunction with the CRV’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACETM) body structure.

The passengers’ seats on the other hand have transformed hip point. They have now been lowered by 38mm compared to the current model, resulting in a more comfortable seating position and increased headroom.

Here is also included for the first time a new design which allows the introduction of Easy Fold-Down 60/40 Split Rear Seats. They now can be folded flat in one movement. Hence, the CR-V can be transformed from a five-seater passenger car into a versatile load-lugger.

More importantly, the aerodynamics is another key area of the new CR-V design. The drag coefficient has been reduced by 6.5% compared with the current model and now benefits from performance, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.

    httpv://youtu.be/lB_sfD3fj5c

Under the bonnet can be seen either a 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol engine or a 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, both fitted as a standard with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The power and torque outputs of the i-DTEC engine remain at 150 hp (110 kW) and 350Nm (258 lb-ft) respectively. However, the CO2 emissions fall from 171g/km to 149g/km for the manual version and from 195g/km to 174g/km for models equipped with the five-speed automatic transmission.

On the other hand, the power output of the 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine has risen from 150 hp to 155 hp (114 kW), while the torque has been increased to 192Nm (142 lb-ft). Although there has been increase of the performance, the CO2 emissions have fallen here as well from 192g/km to 173g/km for the manual version, and from 195g/km to 175g/km for the automatic one.

At last, the new CR-V now includes upgrades to the car’s suspension, steering and four-wheel drive system. Here the next generation Motion Adaptive electric power steering system now combines maneuverability with increased feedback and response at higher velocity.

In addition, this sophisticated system includes Advanced Vehicle Stability Assist system, which detects instability in slippery road conditions and automatically initiates steering inputs that prompt the driver to steer in the correct direction.

A wide range of electronic systems are also included: Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Honda’s Advanced Driver Assist System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and Emergency Stop System.

In short, the new improved model of 2012 Honda CR-V is now more confident, efficient and functional and successfully builds on the fame of its predecessors.

  • European Honda CR-V Prototype

Honda-CR-V-Prototype-thumbImages have been released of the European CR-V Prototype which is due to make its debut on the 6th of March. Its purpose is to show the future Honda way of design and style. This one will be the fourh generation of a successful CV-R family, that will go on sale this Autumn.

Differences with the previous model manifest themselves mainly at the front – a more “aggressive stance” thanks to a new fascia. The lower front bumper wraps smartly upward to show off the CR-V‘s SUVishness. It is also said that now it integrates more smoothly into the fascia thus improving aerodynamics. We, frankly, don’t remember the bumper of the last CR-V being dragged around, hanging by a thread. No word on engine bits or interior.

The Honda Press Conference will take place at 09.15 CET on Tuesday 6 March. Hopefully more information will be released there. For the time being we have a gallery in which you can look around.
