GeigerCars.de Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is the latest project that the experts at GeigerCars.de have been working on. They say that they have created the most powerful Corvette ever and we are about to ‘see’ how they have achieved this. As a matter of fact, there are three specifics about this project. The first one is the power upgrade, the second is the in-house-made body kit and at last, but not least – the lowered suspension.

Power Upgrade for the Envious

Let me tell you the story of this Corvette Z06. It was born in an American family of prestigious cars with a long history. However, it got a brand new quality and it was the updated version of the classic V8. Although the drivetrain was reduced to 6.2-litre for forced aspiration by a 1.7-litre Eaton TVS R1740 supercharger, the Corvette still made it to the 659 hp (484 kW) and 881 Nm of torque! And this is actually the way it got the title “The Most Powerful Corvette”.

And believe it or not, the performance package by GeigerCars.de adds even more to these numbers. After the upgrade, the Z06 became more potent showing 730 hp (537 kW) and 944 Nm (697 lb-ft) of torque. Now what would you say about that!

Suspension Upgrade for the Extra Performance

The next step for the specialists was to add more sense of safety and control to the added performance capabilities of the car. In fact, the suspension upgrade kit that hey have used have lowered the ride height of the Z06 for better handling, grip and aerodynamic stability at speed.

Carbon for the Body

The wedge-shaped lines of the Chevy Corvette Z06 were strengthened in their appearance by the carbon-fibre GeigerCars.de body kit. It makes a real difference in combination with the lowered ride height, and gives the car wider and more aggressive stance.

The new front lip, the small flaps on both edges and the undertray below the front bumper further aid the aerodynamics of the car.

Hennessey Chevrolet Corvette Z06 HPE800 offers nothing less but power and exceptional driving experience. And we don’t have to even convince you of that since it is a well known fact that the tuning company shows outstanding expertise in output uprating. What we have here is the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06 which has been fitted with HPE800 upgrade and has been tested to the limits. And there is a video below to make things even more graphic.

The production version of the Chevy is powered by the LT4 supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine. It produces more than 650 horsepower (485 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 650 lb-ft of torque (881 Nm) at 3,600 rpm. These numbers make the car the most powerful production GM vehicle.

HPE800 Upgrade

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 on its Way to Customers Just Ahead of Christmas!

Exciting news! 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is already on its way to customers! The company has shipped the coupe from the Bowling Green Assembly and this means that some customers could receive the supercar later this week. As a matter of fact, this is Chevrolet’s most capable model and it is the first Z06 which can be equipped with the eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. The car features stronger aluminum frame and a removable roof panel. What is more, this is the first time since 1963 that the Z06 is available as a convertible. The latter will be available in dealerships in the beginning of 2015.

To get into details, the supercar is powered by the LT4 supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine. It produces 650 horsepower (485 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque at 3,600 rpm. These numbers make the Corvette Z06 the most powerful General Motors production car ever.

LT4 also features direct injection, Active Fuel Management and continuously variable valve timing. With the help of this powerful engine, the Z06 accelerates from a rest to 60 mph in only 2.95 seconds. This number is achieved only if the car is equipped with the available eight-speed automatic transmission. When the Corvette features the standard seven-speed manual transmission, then this time is estimated at 3.2 seconds.

In terms of braking performance, Z06 can stop from 60 mph in only 99.6 feet. Chevrolet is offering a Z07 Performance package, which adds Brembo carbon ceramic brake rotors and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The package also includes many aerodynamic features.

Z06 is also fitted with Performance Data Recorder (PDR), which enables the driver to record high-definition video, with telemetry overlays, of their driving experiences on and off the track. PDR also features free navigation system.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – The Most Powerful Production Car by GM

Chevrolet has officially announced the final output numbers for the 2015 Corvette Z06. The sports car is scheduled to hit the market in the end of this year.

“The LT4 Small Block sets a new benchmark for power and torque at GM,” commented Steve Kiefer, vice president, GM Powertrain Engineering.

“The engine also puts the new Corvette Z06 on par with the most powerful supercars offered in America, while delivering performance with impeccable manners that make it suitable for daily driving.”, he added.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is powered by a 6.2 liter LT4 supercharged V8 – 650HP (485 kW) at 6,400RPM and 880Nm (650 lb-ft) at 3,600RPM. This makes it the most powerful production car ever made by General Motors. The driver has a whopping 619Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque from idle and 847Nm (625 lb-ft) from just 2,800RPM. The engine is connected to a standard 6-speed manual gearbox or a newly developed 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.

“Torque is the pulling power of an engine and the LT4’s abundance of it at every rpm in the engine’s speed range helps the 2015 Corvette Z06 accelerate quicker and respond nearly instantaneously,” said Jordan Lee, chief engineer for Small Block engines.

Chevrolet Introduces 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible is already a fact. Its coupe sibling was introduced in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Both models are the most track-capable Corvettes in Chevrolet’s line-up of vehicles. Both can offer up to 625 horsepower (466 kW) and 861 Nm (635 lb-ft) of torque. They are built on brand’s new aluminum structure that is 20 percent stiffer than the previous one. Also common for the both versions of the Z06 is the curb weight, chassis, powertrain output, driver technologies and equipment options.

The difference is in the electronic top that can be dropped remotely via key fob. The top is made from thick fabric and customers can chose it in four different colors. Chevrolet has also installed here sound-absorbing padding and a glass rear window. Behind the seat backs the designers have installed dual accent panels in either Carbon Flash-painted or exposed carbon fiber.

Like the coupe, the Z06 convertible runs on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in size P285/30ZR19 at the front and 335/25ZR20 at the rear. They are coupled with spin-cast aluminum wheels in the dimensions of 19 x 10 inches and 20 x 12 at the front and rear, respectively.

To deliver best performance, the standard Z06 includdes a front splitter, spats around the front wheel openings, a unique carbon-fiber hood with a larger vent, and rear spoiler. Chevrolet also offers available carbon-fiber aero package. It comprises of carbon fiber front splitter with aviation-style winglets, carbon fiber rocker panels, and a larger rear spoiler with a fixed wickerbill. The package is available in black or a visible carbon-fiber finish. Another option comes via the available Z07 package. This one adds larger winglets to the front splitter and see-through center section on the rear spoiler.

The new Corvett features wider and lower appearance. At the front one can see Stingray’s taillamp assemblies, unique grille with dedicated brake-cooling intakes and wider grille outlets on the bottom that serve as air diffusers.

Inside, the car features steel-reinforced grab bar on the center console, soft-touch materials on the edge of the console, and two seating choices: a GT seat and a Competition Sport seat. The interior is fully wrapped in Napa leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and micro-suede, depending on the trim and purchased options. It also includes a flat-bottom steering wheel with a carbon fiber center spoke. Corvette Z06 Convertible offers five interior colors – two unique to Z06 – blue and dark gray.

As the coupe, the cabrio is driven by the LT4 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine. As stated, tit generates at least 625 horsepower (466 kW) and 635 lb-ft of torque (861 Nm). The engine also features direct injection, Active Fuel Management and continuously variable valve timing. Transmission options include the standard seven-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Match and the otional 8L90 eight-speed paddle-shift automatic one.

The technologies in the Z06 Coupe and Convertible include SLA-type front and rear suspension design, Magnetic Selective Ride Control dampers, standard Driver Mode Selector and smart electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD).

The 1st 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be auctioned for charity

Chevrolet is going to auction the first 2015 Corvette Z06 at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach, Florida on April 12^th. The money will benefit the Karmanos Cancer Institute which will use the funds to improve their infusion center.

The Karmanos Cancer Institute is going to create more comfortable atmosphere for patients, who receive chemotherapy treatments.

The GM President Dan Ammann commented: “Chevrolet’s donation of the first 2015 Corvette Z06 produced is yet another way that we are showing our continued support of the Karmanos Cancer Institute. The funds raised from the auction will help further the exceptional patient care that Karmanos is known for in our community and across the country”.

The new Corvette Z06 is expected to hit the market in the beginning of the next year. It will feature a complete aerodynamic body kit and a super powerful 6.2 liter supercharged LT4 V8 with 625HP (466 kW) and 861Nm (635 lb-ft) of torque.

It Is Official: 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Premiered In Detroit

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was finally revealed at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The most track-capable Corvette in the Chevrolet’s has been presented in its full glory and the brand finally unveiled the official specifications of the car, and we must say it is extremely exciting!

What is new here is that the Z06 is equipped with a supercharged 6.2L engine which as expected will produce 625 horsepower (466 kW). There will be two options of transmissions offered: a seven-speed manual or a brand new high-performance eight-speed automatic one with paddle shifters for manual control. What is more, there will be also offered a track-focused Z07 Performance Package which will adds more aerodynamic downforce to the car and will feature Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires and Brembo carbon ceramic-matrix brake rotors.

To go further into details, under the hood of the Corvette sleeps the new LT4 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine. It produces 625 horsepower (466 kW) and 635 lb-ft of torque (861 Nm) and features Direct injection, Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation) and continuously variable valve timing in order to deliver enhanced fuel efficiency.

The higher output of the unit is supported via the following features:

Rotocast A356T6 aluminum cylinder heads
Lightweight titanium intake valves and machined connecting rods
High 10.0:1 compression ratio
Forged aluminum pistons with stronger structure
Stainless steel exhaust headers and an aluminum balancer
Standard dry-sump oiling system utilized with dual-pressure-control oil pump

Undoubtedly, the other major highlight here is the debut of the 8L90 eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. It has been designed to improve both performance and efficiency. In fact, the transmission offers full manual control via steering wheel paddles for performance driving.

Seeing the pictures of the car, we must confirm that its design is more than striking. In order to deliver the levels of grip needed for the Z06’s performance targets the car was equipped with large Michelin tires: at the front are in size P285/30ZR19 and at the rear – in size 335/25ZR20.

The fenders have also been extended, giving the Corvette Z06 a wider and lower appearance. This is also visible at the rear fascia. The tires are mounted on lightweight and spin-cast aluminum wheels and fitted with massive Brembo brakes.

The aerodynamic downforce of the Z06 was enhanced thanks to the addition of the following elements:

front splitter, spats around the front wheel openings, a unique carbon-fiber hood with a larger vent, and the rear spoiler from the Corvette Stingray’s Z51 Performance Package
available carbon-fiber aero package – in either black or a visible carbon-fiber finish – adds a carbon fiber front splitter with aviation-style winglets, carbon fiber rocker panels, and a larger rear spoiler with a fixed wickerbill
available Z07 package add larger winglets to the front splitter, along with an adjustable, see-through center section on the rear spoiler for track use

The ravishing exterior of the car features also one-of-a-kind grille, complemented with a larger hood vent, which includes brake-cooling intakes and wider grille outlets on the bottom that serve as air diffusers. There are also additional cooling elements include larger front fender vents and air blades over the inlets on the rear fenders.

Inside, the car is fully wrapped with premium, soft-touch materials such as Napa leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and micro-suede. The focus of course is on the new flat-bottomed steering wheel. Z06 will be offered with two seating choices comprising of a GT seat and a Competition Sport seat.

2015 Corvette Z06 has been designed with extensive utilization of lightweight materials and features advanced driver technologies such as the SLA-type front and rear suspension, which has been uniquely calibrated for the higher performance threshold. Next, the third-generation Magnetic Selective Ride Control dampers which come as a standard can be adjusted for touring comfort or maximum track performance via the standard Driver Mode Selector, which offers the Launch control, Active handling (StabiliTrak electronic stability control), Traction control, Performance Traction Management and Electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD).

The latter helps make the most of the torque split between the rear wheels. It includes hydraulically actuated clutch and is fully integrated with Electronic Stability Control and Performance Traction Management systems. Its calibrations offer the following Modes:

Mode 1: default setting for normal driving and emphasizes vehicle stability
Mode 2: engaged when electronic stability control is turned off in the Sport or Track modes.
Mode 3: automatically selected when Performance Traction Management is engaged.

The performance data and pricing of the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be announced closer to the start of production. The car is expected to be available in early 2015.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 [Leak Images]

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is definitely a hot topic, since the first images of the car have already leaked. Last week there was also an unofficial data release of the horsepower that the car will develop and now it seems like the brand has failed to keep intact the secret of the visual appearance of the car.

Precisely, it is rumored that the Corvette Z06 will produce 620 horsepower (455 kW) and 650 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque. This means that the new model will add 200 hp (147 kW) when compared to the base one, as well as 200 lb-ft of torque. Of course, this also leads to the logical conclusion that Z06 will be equipped with plenty of aero elements … and so it is.

Observing the leaked pictures, we can undoubtedly confirm that the exterior of the car will sport elements that can make the rumored 620 hp reality. Such are for instance the deeply vented hood, the front splitter, the additional cooling vents in the fender, the rear quarter and the large rear spoiler.

Luckily enough, the pictures that were going around the web show also some of the interior of the car. We see an exclusive black-leather used inside which is adorned with white stitching. What is more, we also see an extensive utilization of carbon fiber.

On the instrument panel at the high end of the tachometer there is a “P” on the display. And the most interesting thing we can spot is that the gear-shift is entirely different from the seven-speed speed one of the production Corvette. Will it be manual or automatic?

Chevrolet To Introduce 2015 Corvette Z06 In A Month

Exciting news from Detroit city. The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is coming soon. Very soon. It’s supposed to be the “most track-capable Corvette ever” In other words, its sole purpose is to put to shame all relevant rivals.

“Chevrolet is America’s favorite performance car brand, and for 2014 we are going to offer enthusiasts more choices than ever before,” said Alan Batey, senior vice president, Global Chevrolet. “No other manufacturer will be able to match the breath of performance cars from Chevrolet.”

Apparently, Chevrolet as a whole is doing mighty fine on the market. This year the current Corvette has outsold its closest competitor (which is apparently the Porsche 911). The demand for the new Stingray, they say, outstrips the supply.

The Camaro is also ahead of the Ford Mustang with a 4,093-unit lead in total sales. In the second quarter of 2014, the Camaro Z/28 will hit the dealrships and it too is supposed to be “the most track-capable” of its kind. Recently, the Z/28 logged a 7:37.40 lap on the Nurburgring… on a rainy day. Crikey!

The 2015 Corvette Z06, on the other hand, will debut in about a month at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit – home turf.

That, and the fact that the Z06 sales will start at the end of next year, is all we know for now. Better start saving up.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 vs Corvette Z06, Panamera, GT-R and Gallardo

Dragtimesinfo has published a video with Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 with 667HP going against Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Supercharged with 750HP, Nissan GT-R Mk.2 Ecutek Stage 2 with 660HP, Porsche Panamera Turbo S Stage 1 with 700HP and Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 SL UGR Race Version with 2005HP.

The first start was versus the Z06, which lost the race. The Mustang GT500 stopped the clock on 30.867 seconds with 267 km/h on 1 mile.

The second race was against the GT-R, which won the race with 29.728 seconds and 288 km/h on mile, while the GT500 set 30.321 seconds and 266 km/h.

The third start versus the Panamera was also doomed, because the Porsche had almost a second lead over the Shelby. The Panamera Turbo S Stage 1 crossed the finish line in 29.711 seconds with 273 km/h, while the Mustang needed 30.607 seconds.

On the last start, the Mustang GT500 set personal absolute speed and et records on 1 mile – 30.225 seconds with 270 km/h, but the winner was the super powerful Gallardo UGR crossing the finish line in 24.422 seconds with 358 km/h.

Porsche 911 Turbo Mk2 vs Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 and Chevrolet Corvette Z06

More drag racing, but this time with stock sport cars – Porsche 911 Turbo Mk2 6-speed manual with 500HP against Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with 505HP and Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 with 560HP.

In the first start, the 911 Turbo owned the Z06. The Porsche finished in 29.289 seconds with 281 km/h and set personal absolute record on ¼ mile – 11.625 seconds with 197 km/h.

The second start was also owned by the Porsche. It crossed the 1 mile mark in 29.341 seconds with terminal speed of 281 km/h, while the Gallardo needed 30.712 seconds.

The third start was free, but the Porsche 911 Turbo Mk2 set personal absolute record on 1 mile – 29.231 seconds with 282 km/h. Andrey N. behind the steering wheel is winner of 2^nd place in Super Stock Class 2013.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 vs: 911 Turbo, Camaro ZL1, Lotus Esprit and Shelby Mustang GT500

Dragtimesinfo has published video showing some races in “Super Stock” class. The battle is between Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with 505HP, Porsche 911 Turbo with 500HP, Camaro ZL1 with 580HP, Lotus Espirt V8 PP Stage 1 with 390HPand a powerful Shelby Mustang GT 500 with 667HP.

The first race is between the Z06 and the 911 Turbo. The winner as you may suggest is the 911 Turbo which did ¼ mile in 11.625 seconds and 1 mile in 29.289 seconds with terminal speed of 280 km/h – this is absolute ET Record on ¼ mile.

In the second battle, the Z06 managed to beat a lot more powerful ZL1 . The Z06 crossed the finishline in 30.149 seconds (and personal absolute ET record on ¼ mile – 12.191 seconds) with terminal speed of 271 km/h.

In the third race, the Z06 again won versus a lot less powerful Esprit V8. The Z06 did 1 mile in 30.477 seconds with 269 km/h terminal speed.

Last battle is versus the super powerful Mustang GT500 with 667HP. The Z06 again manage to win because of problems for the Mustang. The Z06 crossed the finish line in 30.074 seconds with terminal speed of 273 km/h – this is personal absolute ET record on 1 mile and personal absolute speed record on 1 mile.

Andrey M. with Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Stock managed to get to 3^rd place in Super Stock Class 2013.
