Chevy introduces the 2016 Spark – a slick looking and improved heir of the 2015 Spark. It comes with a modified engine, improved fuel consumption efficiency and incredible safety system. The new Spark also includes a longer wheelbase, improved aerodynamics and overall weight reduction. And, as always, it shows us not just its superior performance, but also the wonderful design – both for the interior and exterior.

And when it comes to design and looks, Chevy team knows how it’s done. They bring us a vehicle that has the well-known and loved Chevrolet look, but combined with some extras, that really make the Spark flash even brighter. The height of the vehicle is reduced, as the overall weight. The minicar comes with dual-port grille and amazing headlights – the really detailed work really boost the wonderful car appearance.

The interior also had its attention. The cabin is carefully designed to match the lowered roof. But this doesn’t mean a smaller inside space – 2016 Spark comes with wide and well designed interior, offering comfortable and pleasurable driving experience. And of course different high-quality components are included: wonderful seats, high quality fabrics and incredible hi-tech gadgets. The innovative MyLink radio, for example, offers a touch screen with an interface, similar to a smartphone. Lovely, right?

The most important part of the vehicle, the engine also had its tweaks and refreshment. The 2016 Spark is geared with completely redesigned 1.4Liter engine that provides 98 hp (73kW) and has wonderful fuel consumption efficiency. In fact, the powerplant is part of the Ecotec family, which explains the wonderful performance and fuel usage. It is made of lightweight materials and works in perfect harmony with the special 5-speed manual gearbox.

As you may know, the 2015 Spark is the Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. But the 2016 model doesn’t just sit there and watch. It has even further-upgraded safety system. MY 2016 Spark is built with stronger body components and comes with even wider range of safety elements: ten airbags are included, a camera-based technology to avoid collisions and many other.

The 2016 Chevrolet Spark goes on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.

2016 Chevrolet Spark based on Opel Karl Debuts in New York

2016 Chevrolet Malibu will not be the only car which is going to debut at the New York Auto Show on 2nd of April. It will be accompanied by the new 2016 Spark, which at the same time will make an appearance in Seoul. The company said that it has redesigned the mini-vehicle and to prove that it has also released an image. Unfortunately, someone forgot to turn the lights on, so we are left with a dark teaser only.

Nevertheless it is still visible that the car has more aerodynamically viable profile, new LEDs and foglights underneath. In addition, Chevrolet said that the redesigned mini will incorporate all of company’s signature design cues. This intends to make Spark even more likable and with higher aesthetics.

Unfortunately, the popular American brand did not disclose any other details. But our sources say that 2016 Spark will be based on Opel Karl (Vauxhall Viva in the UK) and this leads to the logical conclusion that it will be probably driven by the same engine. Precisely, it is the three-cylinder 1.0-liter unit, which generates 75 horsepower (55 kW).

Just like the Karl or Viva model, this Chevrolet should be built on a 2385mm wheelbase and have a length of 3680mm. If this is true we will have to wait and find out in the beginning of next month. Stay tuned for more teasers!

Chevrolet Spark Bubble To Be Officially Revealed At 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

At the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show Chevrolet brand is going to display host of new convenience and safety enhancements to its line-up. Among the highlights at the show will be the new Chevrolet Spark Bubble Edition.

The new models will include as a standard the Chevrolet MyLink connected radios, more safety and comfort features as well as there will be offered new engines with lower emissions. An example for one is the 1.7L diesel unit which emits only 99 g of CO2 per 100 km that can be found in the Chevrolet Cruze Saloon.

The main highlight at the show – the Spark Bubble will deliver its customers more convenience and improved looks. The car will be equipped with sporty bumper, side rocker moldings, 15-inch white painted alloy wheels as well as frisky white or pink-colored Bubble decals on the front fenders.

In addition, the center console and inserts have been properly designed in order to match the cheerful color pattern that can be seen on the exterior. The interior also include seats made of leatherette.

Other accents throughout the interior include instrument cluster and trims which have been restyled. A new radio with Bluetooth connectivity is standard on most trim levels, as well as the CD player, USB and aux-in jacks.

Furthermore, the Spark Bubble Edition is now going to deliver its occupants enhanced safety, thanks to the inclusion of the standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

Another car that is going to be on display in Frankfurt is the Chevrolet Aveo which now receives rearview camera. The device is connected to the radio’s seven-inch high resolution touch screen and makes maneuvering more convenient. In addition, the LTZ trim of the Chevrolet Aveo will have stylish LED turn signals mounted in the outside mirrors.

Next, the Cruze will now be offered with a broader choice of powertrains and new safety features. To be more precise, the choice of four petrol engines will be available on all body styles of the Cruze – a naturally aspirated 1.4L (100 hp/75 kW), a 1.4L turbo (140 hp/103 kW), a 1.6L (124 hp/91 kW) and a 1.8L (141 hp/104 kW) engine.

On the other hand, the diesel line-up comprises of a 1.7L (130 hp/ 96kW) and a 2.0L (163 hp/120 kW) unit. They will be complemented by a 110 hp (81 kW) variant of the1.7L diesel, which emits only 99 g of CO2 per 100 km.

Moreover, the LTZ trim of the Cruze family will include Side Bind Zone Alert. The latter is a safety feature which can spot approaching vehicles in the side blind zone via radar. The same as in the Aveo, the outside rearview mirrors will sport integrated LED turn signals.

Chevrolet Orlando in turn will be equipped with Advanced Parking Aid and Side Blind Spot Alert. This system utilizes ultrasonic sensors which detect approaching vehicles in the blind spot and warns the driver through an illuminated icon in the outside rearview mirrors.

The Advanced Parking Aid will aid identifies suitable parallel parking slots at low speeds and will give the driver instructions on how to steer the vehicle. The model will also be equipped with new radio as a standard as well as a rearview camera and an integrated navigation system (depending on the trim).

Other changes throughout the exterior include LED turn signals in the outside rearview mirrors, 16-inch wheel covers and 17 and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Orlando will hide under its hood 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

At last, Chevrolet Trax will now be offered with FWD variant of 1.4L Turbo engine. When the latter is matched to a six-speed manual transmission, this variant of the Trax is capable of zero to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds.

Chevrolet Spark EV at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show

Chevrolet will exhibit the new Spark EV at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The car will be sold in select European markets as of 2014 model. The Chevrolet Spark EV is anticipated to set a benchmark in performance for an urban city electric car and is powered by the most advanced electric motor and battery system General Motors has ever built.

The Spark EV is powered by an electric motor with 136HP (100 kW) and 542Nm (401 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The car comes with a lithium-ion battery system of more than 20 kWh that operates with the help of an active liquid cooling and heating system. Thanks to the sophisticated technology of its battery pack, the Spark EV is expected to achieve an electric range that is among the best in its class.

DC fast charging will allow the car to recharge up to 80 % of its capacity in approximately 20 minutes. Moreover, the battery system is capable of handling multiple DC fast charges daily. AC recharging requires between 6 and 8 hours, using a 230V outlet. A charge cord set is standard.

Other innovation is the Chevrolet MyLink connected radio technology coming as standard. It allows users to connect compatible smartphones to the radio with its high resolution touch screen. Chevrolet MyLink will support a number of select of apps which will allow users to navigate using their smartphone, and listen to radio stations around the world through the internet. A rear-view camera will provide assistance when the car is in reverse.

2014 Chevrolet Spark EV Unveiled Ahead of Los Angles Auto Show

2014 Chevrolet Spark EV was just introduced before its official premiere at Los Angeles International Auto Show. The electric vehicle offers smart performance and connectivity technologies into an affordable five-door city mini car.

Spark EV will go on sale next summer, being the first EV to offer SAE Combo DC Fast Charging capability. This enables the car to reach eighty-percent battery charge in just twenty minutes. And when one uses a dedicated 240V outlet, Spark EV recharges in less than seven hours. Owners can manage and monitor the vehicle remotely via computer or with a special Chevrolet Mobile App.

Furthermore, the futuristic feeling that leaves this Chevrolet can be felt inside as well. There a critical vehicle functions are clearly and intuitively displayed on one of the vehicle’s two reconfigurable seven-inch color LCD screens, including a confidence gauge that shows the expected driving range based on driving habits and other conditions.

On the other hand, for the excitement and fun of driving will take care the MyLink radio and safely brings smartphone-based infotainment.

What is more important however is to mention that the Spark EV is powered by an advanced electric motor and battery system. It comprises of coaxial drive unit and electric motor. Both generate 130 hp (110 kW) and 400 lb.-ft. (542 Nm) of torque for instant acceleration. In addition, the 20-kWh lithium ion battery is said to be one of the best in its segment.

Moreover, the long-life of the battery is designed in such way that it offers safety, durability and reliability. It weighs of a 560-pound (254 kg) and has a volume of 133 liters, comprising 336 prismatic cells.

The exterior design of the Spark EV was created in such way that it conserves as much total energy as possible and this in addition maximizes battery range. One important way to achieve that is by improving the vehicle’s aerodynamics.

The strong presence of the EV is further enhanced by its exterior color. The range here includes the following themes: Electric Blue, Black Granite, Summit White, Silver Ice and Titanium. Chevrolet line-up for 2012 SEMA

Chevrolet has аnnounced their line-up for the upcoming 2012 SEMA event. The manufacturer will present stylized Spark, Sonic and Cruze concepts. The cars demonstrate the possibilities for customers who want a more personalized driving experience. Chevrolet previewed the concept vehicles ahead of the Oct. 30 opening of the SEMA Show, the annual automotive aftermarket extravaganza of styling and performance, along with the multihued “The Color Run” Spark and “Pink Out” Spark – a car for a cause.

The Cruze Upscale concept comes with a nice Burnished Brandy Metallic exterior, nicely tinted front lights and a set of 19” aluminuim wheels. The interior boasts Loft Brown leather seats, yellow contrast stitching and dark liquid palladium trim. There is also an adjustable coilover suspension.

The second model, which will be presented is the Malibu Turbo Performance concept. It features a Berlin Blue exterior with a ground effects package. The Malibu rolls 20” aluminum wheels fitted with Pirelli PZero tires. The interior comes with two-tone Recaro sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel and black chrome trim. The car also comes with some performance tweaks like HiPer Strut front suspension, big brakes and a CAI system.

Several Sparks will join the line-up. These include Sinister, Color Run and Pink Out concepts.

The pricing for the all-new 2013 Chevrolet Spark has been recently announced and start at $12,995. The mini car that will undeniably capture the heart of many, will go on sale later this year.

In short 2013 Spark is a sporty, fuel-efficient, four-passenger, five-door hatch. It s designed to excite first-time car buyers and city dwellers, thank to its bold styling, fresh colors, egaging driving dynamics, and a lot of personalized features.

Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Concept and Chevrolet Spark – a Green Discovery

Two concept vehicles, both in green paint will shine in the range line among Chevrolet models. Chevrolet aims with these concept performance cars to make any enthusiast green with envy. Of course, don not take this literally. The firs concept vehicle is the outstanding Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Concept, which you already might be familiar of. Bright Spark To Light Up Geneva Show

It’s called the Spark, and it’s set to light up the Geneva Motor Show when it debuts there in March this year.

The first picture of Chevrolet’s new global entry into the lively mini car market was unveiled by GM’s North American president Troy Clarke at the Detroit Auto Show on January 11, 2009, at the same time as the announcement that the model would also form part of the brand’s North American range.
