Meet Chevy Impala’s Cool Midnight Version

Chevrolet Impala just received more aggressive looks, due to the addition of new exclusive trim level. The so called Midnight Edition is actually a special edition blacked-out package, inspired by a concept vehicle shown at SEMA last year. The car will be available for order this summer and will add all the premium characteristics of the new redesigned Impala.

Exterior

In terms of exterior styling features, the first thing to notice about the Midnight Edition is that it is all-black. Even Chevy’s badges have been blackened out. The Jet Black exterior is accompanied by body color mirrors.

In addition, the alloys are in the size of 19-inches and are machine-faced with black accents. Black grille and surround, front and rear black bowtie and black rear spoiler are also a necessity.

Interior

There isn’t any official picture of the interior, but Chevrolet says that its theme is Jet Black, so we expect exclusive black leather upholstery and black interior elements. The difference with the standard model here are the sport pedals.

Drivetrain

Impala Midnight Edition can be ordered with a choice of two powertrains. The standard one is the 2.5L iVLC, which features stop/start technology and produces 195hp (145 kW) and 253Nm (187 lb-ft) of torque. The other one is the 3.6L V-6 that is claimed to be the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in the segment, generating 303 horses (226 kW).

Pricing and Trim Levels

This Impala special edition will have a limited production in the 2LT trim level with the standard 2.5L engine. Otherwise the package can be purchased on 1LT, 2LT and LTZ trim levels and costs between $995 USD and $1,595 USD.

2015 Chevrolet Impala – US Price $27,735

Chevrolet has unveiled the 2015 Impala, which is expected to hit the market in the summer with pricing starting from $27,735 (including an $825 destination charge) for the entry level LS model. The top-of-ragen LT trim level with six-cylinder engine is priced at $30,960.

2015 Chevrolet Impala will come with a start/stop system as standard on 2.5 liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine – 195HP (145 kW) and 253Nm (187 lb-ft) of torque. It will enable the sedan to return an EPA-estimated 22 mpg US in city, 31 mpg US on the highway and 25 mpg US on combined cycle. There is only one more engine in the range – a premium 3.6 liter six-cylinder with estimated at 303HP (226 kW).

Other new features include a heavy-duty starter and advanced algorithms which consider the “cabin temperature, humidity, battery charge and other factors when deciding if the engine should come to a stop”. There are also new engine mounts that “provide the greatest isolation possible from the cabin”.

The powertrains are the reason for the Impala’s responsive driving experienceIn addition, a MacPherson-strut front suspension and four-link rear suspension underpin the Impala, with an isolated front cradle and hydraulic ride bushing that help deliver a smoother, quieter ride. All models that are being offered include an electric variable-assist steering system thank to which the car is more fuel efficient.

2015 Chevrolet Impala Bi-Fuel CNG Goes On Sale

2015 Chevrolet Impala Bi-Fuel CNG is going on sale this summer as promised. The car was introduced last year and is the industry’s only manufacturer-produced full-size sedan in North America that can run on both compressed natural gas (CNG) and gasoline. The car is offered in either an LS base trim or a higher-equipped LT trim. This Chevrolet was created in order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the OPEC Oil Embargo – The National Summit on Energy Security.

The vehicle is available only with a 3.6L hardened engine with hardened valves and valve seats. This will deliver more wear resistance and durability with the CNG fuel system. The CNG tank is mounted in the trunk. It has an equivalent capacity of 7.8 gallons of gasoline, which means that it is expected to offer approximately 150 city miles of range on compressed natural gas. Gasoline and compressed natural gas combined will offer an expected range of 500 city miles.

Natural gas is one of the cleanest-burning fuels currently available. The vehicles that run on CNG produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions than gasoline-powered cars. In addition, it will also help customers reduce fuel costs next to the reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions.

Primarily, the Impala runs on CNG. When the fuel tank is depleted, the system automatically and seamlessly switches to run on gasoline. Those who want to change fuels while driving can do so by simply pushing a button on the dashboard. This button utilizes LED light to indicate when CNG is being used.

Chevrolet Previews Performance-Oriented SEMA Concepts

Chevrolet has just previewed several performance-oriented concepts which are going to debut at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas between 5th and 8th of November. The vehicles are based on brand’s most popular passenger cars, including the Sonic and all-new Impala.

In addition, there was also shown a personalized version of the Malibu, which includes new and enhanced technologies for 2014 that improve efficiency and personal connectivity. For instance, such are the Stop/Start engine technology contributes and the new Siri with Eyes Free Mode and Text-to-Voice.

All of the SEMA concepts include accessories designed to allow personalization while maintaining excellent refinement and ride characteristics. First, a pair of “super” Sonics leads the charge into SEMA, each packing enhancements for their respective 1.4L turbo engines, along with suspension, exterior and interior accessories – and distinctive color-and-graphic packages.

The Chevrolet Performance Sonic RS concept includes engine performance, suspension/brakes and appearance refinements. A Stage Kit, cold-air induction and a high-flow exhaust system allow the 1.4L turbo engine to develop more power.

The enhancements on the engine are supported by a track-tuned suspension system and higher-performance brake upgrade kit, including Wilwood front calipers, while a suspension kit lowers the ride height for a sportier stance.

The power of the engine is transmitted onto road via the Chevrolet Performance 18-inch, split-five-spoke wheels. They perfectly complement the Lemon Peel Yellow exterior. The latter is accentuated with blue graphics; tinted headlamps and fog lamps; blue-accented window moldings and rear hatch trim.

There are some other addition exterior accessories such as color-tinted grille trim, headlamp rings and mirror caps. The interior also includes re-trimmed seats in black leather, with Lark Yellow contrast stitching.

The next Sonic Concept vehicle is called Ricky Carmichael All-Activity Sonic concept. The car adds an all-new performance package with parts from Chevrolet Performance. Here the highlights include Chevrolet Performance 1.4L Turbo Stage Kit with high-flow exhaust, Chevrolet Performance cold-air induction, Chevrolet Performance suspension kit with lowered ride height, Chevrolet Performance brake package with Wilwood front calipers, Chevrolet Performance 18-inch wheel-and-tire package featuring custom gloss black with green lip.

This car is finished in satin black exterior paint that is pearlized with blue, along with custom graphics. The Sonic’s body is emphasized with a concept rear wing spoiler, smoked lamp housings, ground effects package and a unique grille. It also wears a THULE roof rack.

The interior of the car features FOX Racing boardshort material for the seat inserts. It in turn complements dark green and black leather instrument panel trim and door trim with lime green piping. A matching, green/black-trimmed flat-bottom steering wheel continues the theme. Other interior features include an upgraded sound system, a Chevrolet Accessories pedal kit and a custom aluminum shift knob.

Another Sonic concept that hasn’t been shown yet is the Victory Red Sonic concept, which represents the true meaning of personalization. It will be equipped with body-color door handles with chrome stripe, chrome liftgate and mirror cap trim, Chevrolet Accessory exterior graphics package, Chevrolet Accessory door sill plates and all-weather floor mats, Chevrolet Accessory footwell lighting package and pedal covers, Kicker 200-Watt DSP amp with 200-Watt powered subwoofer.

Some exterior details will be changed during the SEMA Show, thus giving the car a different visual look during the convention. This concept also includes Borla performance exhaust, Chevrolet Performance suspension kit with lowered ride height, Chevrolet Performance brake package with Wilwood front calipers and Chevrolet Performance 18-inch wheel-and-tire package.

The second model which is tuned for the SEMA Show is the Spark EV. The Tech Performance concept is a pure-electric urban mini-car that utilizes uses no gasoline, but a GM-built motor. It can deliver up to 295 Nm (400 lb-ft) of instant torque, and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds.

Some of the features here include custom exterior color and graphics, a unique backlit Chevrolet “bowtie” emblem in the grille and performance billet aluminum wheels, Chevrolet Accessory sill plates, floor mats and pedal covers, body-color trim plates and green stitching on the shifter boot and steering wheel, military-style flip-up “activation switch” on the instrument panel and other lightweight features.

Next, the Urban Cool Impala concept builds on the Impala LTZ with custom-painted grille accents, Chevrolet Accessories concept ground effects and Chevrolet Accessories concept 20-inch wheels.

The sporty style of the LTZ is additionally emphasized via a lowered stance. On the other hand, the high-intensity discharge headlamps and LED daytime running lamps contribute towards more sophisticated appearance.

Inside, the vehicle includes a high-gloss piano black and anodized low-gloss black interior, contrasting with Sky Cool Gray leather-trimmed seats that also have perforated leather inserts and orange stitching. 2014 Chevrolet Malibu Delivers More Roominess

2014 Chevrolet Malibu has been unveiled and it comes to offer to its customers more space, refinements and efficiency. It includes an updated styling and interior, as well as new 2.5L standard engine and suspension enhancements.

At last, the other optional safety features offered here include the New Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Malibu also comes with 10 standard air bags and an available rearview camera system. 2014 Chevrolet Malibu goes on sale this autumn.

2014 Chevrolet Impala – US Pricing Announced

2014 Chevrolet Impala was revealed almost a year ago and now it comes with an announced pricing for the US market. The flagship sedan began driving off the line at Oshawa Assembly today and it is on its way to Chevrolet’s showrooms which will be available later this month. In addition, it has also been announced that the Impala will be manufactured at General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant and the production will begin in May.

More importantly, the model includes several new features such as Adaptive Cruise Control and crash-avoidance technologies like Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert, and ten standard airbags.

In addition, company’s latest MyLink radio debuts in the 2014 Impala. This entertainment system features a customizable eight-inch color display screen and adopts natural voice recognition – which is the first to be met in a Chevy.

Three direct-injection engine choices will be available: a 3.6L V-6, a newly designed 2.5L four-cylinder and a 2.4L four-cylinder with fuel-saving eAssist technology. 2014 Chevrolet Impala – Pricing Announced

2014 Chevrolet Impala – Specifications Announced

2014 Chevrolet Impala and 2013 Chevrolet Traverse to debut in New York

The all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala full-size sedan will debut at this year’s New York International Auto Show which is going to take place next month. Chevrolet is also going to exhibit a transformed version of the 2013 Cehvrolet Traverse crossover utility vehicle. The only information that we have about those models are these two exclusively released teaser pictures, showing just a little peace of the vehicles. The new Impala model will further empower Chevrolet’s passenger car lineup by offering consumers a full-size sedan. In fact, Impala has been one of Chevrolet’s best-selling models since 1958. The all-new version of the Impala builds on that heritage.

On the other hand the refreshed 2013 Chevrolet Traverse was designed to deliver to families a new gathering space. It includes elements of style and refinement both inside and outside. It is also going to offer new and industry-exclusive safety features. Moreover Traverse model is among the safest vehicles on the road today. In this 2013 model, Chevrolet has added to the Traverse industry’s first front center air bag, which is engineered to protect drivers and front passengers in far-side impact crashes. What basically happens is that the air bag deploys in milliseconds and inflates between the driver and front passenger, providing added protection for both front occupants. Furthermore, the new edition of the crossover offers a wide variety of improvements in terms of ride and handling, interior materials and exterior styling.
