Chevrolet team reveals new 2021 Colorado lineup
Chevrolet team unveils a new Colorado midsize truck concept. The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado will make its first public appearance at the 2019 Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic on Oct.10, driven by Hall Racing. Then the new family member will debut at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.This new Colorado lineup features greater definition from trim to trim and will come with tons of standard features. There’s also a new “Sand Dune Metallic” exterior paint, new “bowtie” emblems and embossed “Chevrolet” tailgates in place of the traditional Chevy bowtie on the rear end of the vehicle.
Furthermore, WT, LT and Z71 Colorado trim levels will receive new central bars, lower fascias and front skid plates for the 2021 model year. Additionally, WT and LT will come with new gold Chevy bowtie logos, whereas Z71 receives a black bowtie logo.
The ZR2 off-road variant will receive a new appearance in order to match its performance capabilities. In fact, this is the only Colorado model to feature a lettered and flow-through “Chevrolet” front fascia. ZR2’s new front end ensures improved visibility and looks even more aggressive, compared to its siblings. Sweet!

ZR2 also features segment-exclusive Multimatic DSSVTM position-sensitive dampers, standard front and rear electronic locking differentials, 2-inch suspension lift, 3.5-inch wider track, off-road rocker protection, cast iron control arms, Autotrac transfer case and numerous multiple skid plates.

Named Colorado ZH2, this monster impressed us. And here’s why.First of all, this is not some sort of a fashionable military wanna-be machine. Chevy gears 2017 Colorado with mighty drivetrain units!
In order to rock 2017 Model Year, Chevy team gears the new Colorado with redesigned V6 power unit and class-exclusive eight-speed automatic gearbox system. And as we see it, this is probably the biggest change and improvement done on the vehicle since the big restyling program back in 2015. So, let’s find out what makes Chevrolet brand sell more than 160,000 Colorados in the first 24 months since the launch.The engine system
This second-gen Chevrolet double-overhead-cam power unit keeps the same 3.6-liter displacement, but now includes variable valve timing for intake and exhaust, enhanced direct injection and Active Fuel Management System (the so-called cylinder deactivation). And the most important thing: the horsepower and torque have increased to a total of SAE-certified 308hp (230kW) and 275lb-ft at 4,000rpm.

The GM-developed Hydra-Matic 8L45 has many advantages, compared to the 6L80 (the older model). Although they both share the same size and weight, the 8L80 comes with wider 7.0 overall gear ratio spread, which directly results on higher first gear ratio, which further helps the driver start off more confidently and furiously. This also helps when there is heavy load or when trailering.
And the best news? Well, Colorado fans will not wait that much for this one to be available for purchase: the enhanced vehicle comes in the fourth quarter of this year. Sweet.

Chevrolet Colorado Gets a Hot Summer Special Edition
Chevrolet Colorado will get for the 2017 model year a hot special edition called “Shoreline” that targets the midsize pickup market. The vehicle joins Chevy’s portfolio of special editions for trucks that comprises of the Colorado Z71 Midnight, Colorado Trail Boss, Silverado Realtree, and Silverado Special Ops. Some of them we have discussed previously in our blog.An interesting fact is that the state of California is by far the largest midsize pickup market, and it seems that the vehicle specifically targets this state. In fact there are more midsize trucks sold in Los Angeles than the next two largest markets… combined.
And this is why in order to appeal to this specific demographic, the Shoreline edition will be based on the Colorado extended cab models in LT trim and of course offered within the choice of two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive variants.

Again, inspired by the state of California, the model will be painted in bright exterior colors and will feature exclusive blacked-out trim as well as minor chrome accents. Speaking about the paint scheme colors, the pickup is getting the Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Laser Blue, or Red Hot. Some of the exterior changes included feature body color front grill, black 18-inch wheels, and black trim for the door handles, mirrors and beltline.
Other cool additions that other Colorados do not have are the spray-in bedliner, all-weather floor liners, and one-year of Sirius XM radio subscription. In other words, with the Shoreline and the other limited editions, Chevy is continuing its strategy of delivering one-off trucks designed for every specific need of the customer. And this is a step forward into selling more midsize pickups than ever before.

Chevrolet Introduces Midnight Special Edition Pack for the Silverado and Colorado
Chevrolet is introducing the Silverado 1500 Z71 and Colorado Z71 equipped with the famous and good-looking Midnight Special Edition. Both models are expanding the portfolio of special-edition trucks, which over last year achieved rapidly growing popularity. It was measured at 27 percent which is a double the increase for the total truck market.As a matter of fact, Chevy has entered on the market several special-edition trucks that offer versatile equipment and appearance packages designed for specific tastes. The main aim is to appeal to younger, more affluent buyers than the industry average.

Silverado 2500 HD Z71 was added to Chevrolet’s range last September and it is now too getting the Midnight edition. This means that customers can now select from midsize, light-duty and heavy duty Midnight editions, each of which will combines off-road equipment and monochromatic details.
Precisely, some of the cool equipment features include off-road suspension, locking rear differential, transfer case shield, Hill Descent Control and aggressive Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires. Contributing for the appeal of the car are the all-black front end with body-colored grille, bumper, headlamp bezels, tow hooks and fog lamps. In black are also painted the side moldings and beltline moldings, the alloys, the spray-in bedliner and the bowties for the front and rear. There are special Z71 badges on the doors, indicating the exclusivity to the model.
Later this year, Chevrolet is going to announce other special-editions. They will include the Silverado Realtree, Silverado Special Ops, and Colorado Trail Boss.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax The Most Efficient Pickup?
Chevrolet confirmed that the 2016 Colorado two-wheel drive model with the Duramax turbo-diesel will be the most efficient pickup to rule over American streets. And with its Environmental Protection Avgency-estimated 31 mpg highway fuel economy. So, should we believe what Chevy team says?The EPA has issued a Certificate of Confortmity for Chevrolet Colorado Duramax diesel. The agency has not expressed any kind of issues and concerns. All this was a result of comprehensive tests and elavulation of the emission control system of the Colorado diesel vehicle. In fact, with Colorado’s 21-gallon fuel tank, the 2WD sweetie can go to up to 651 miles (1,171 kilometers) per tank.
Furthermore, 2016 Colorado diesel 2WD offers and EPA estimated 22 mpg city and 25 mpg combined. The 4WD version offers 20 mpg city and 23 mpg combined.

Colorado’s diesel fuel economy is enhanced by the segment-leading capability, including the maximum trailering ratings of up to 7,700 pounds (3,492kg) on 2WD models and up to 7,600 pounds (3,447kg) for all the 4WD models with the additional trailering package.
And what about the drivetrain system? Colorado comes with all-new 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel unit that provides a total of 181hp (135kW) and 500Nm of torque. This sweetie works in perfect harmony with the Hydra-Matic 6L50 six-speed automatic gearbox which, in fact, uses a special Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorber that reduces engine’s noise and vibration. Sweet, right?
There are also two additions that enhance the control and the overall performance of the Colorado diesel unit: a special diesel exhaust braking and integrated trailer brake controller are now a standard feature. The Exhaust braking improves the overall control and reduces brake wear. The trailer brake controller works with antilock brake system and provides immediate and measured brake force and eliminates the need for additional aftermarket trailer brake controller.
The Colorado diesel will go on sale this fall and will be offered with LT and Z71 Crew Cab models and with the choice between 2WD and 4WD system.

Chevrolet is introducing its dazzling 2016 Chevrolet Colorado’s Midnight Edition and Z71 Trail Boss. Both of the vehicles make a visual statement to remember and stand out with their bold appearances. The designs are a combination between bespoke cues and the well-known Colorado’s DNA. Colorado Midnight edition and the Z71 Trail Boss also arrive with leading efficiency rates and capabilities.
Firstly, let’s look more closely at the 2016 Colorado Midnight Edition. It is powered by 2.5L and 3.6L engines. However, it is stated to be available with a brand-new 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine as well which leaves customers with even more choices. This model inherits some characteristics from its predecessor, 2015 Chevy Silverado Midnight Edition – precisely the feel of saturated blackness. The Colorado underlines its aggressive look thanks to the blacked-out design theme which incorporates black grille, black bowtie emblem and black 18-inch aluminum wheels.
Secondly, 2016 Colorado Z71 Trail Boss arrives with aggressively looking tires and off-road-inspired improvements on the outside. 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax, the world’s fastest-selling truck now comes with additional upgrade: a turbo-diesel engine. This will make the 2016 Duramax’s fuel consumption efficiency even greater. So let’s check out what is going on here.With engine like the turbo-diesel, the vehicle will be producing 369 lb-ft of torque, via 2.8Liter heart. Furthermore, Colorado’s maximum trailering capacity rises to 7,700 pounds on 2WD models and is expected to take the lead in its class, when it comes to fuel economy. And one more thing. This is the cleanest diesel truck engine, that General Motors has ever created.

The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax will go on sale this fall and will be offered in LT and Z71 Crew Cab models, respectively with 2WD and 4WD. And let’s see what else it will offer, along with the new powerplant unit.
Smart diesel exhaust brake system and standard Hyda-Matic 6L50 six-speed automatic transmission are now part of the standard equipment, along with the Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorber. Furthermore, the Z82 trailering package is standard and includes hitch receiver and seven-pin connector, while the refreshed and restyled integrated trailer brake controller is standard on some and exclusive on other models from the lineup.
The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax will also include a 3.42 rear axle ratio as standard and there is a new, electronically controlled transfer case for the 4WD models.
2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax: the engine in-depth
Colorado’s turbo-diesel engine will not only bring power and efficiency, but it will also ensure smooth and pleasurable drive. The engine unit offers variable-geometry turbocharger for optimal power and efficiency and a balance shaft for smoothness. Long story short, you will feel comfortable of taming such a beast.
The engine, as said above comes with 500 Nm at 2,000 rpm and 181 hp (135 kW) of power output. This all means, that the 2016 Duramax is capable of maintaining powerful torque at low rpm, while the turbocharged system provides smooth, yet confident performance at any rpm level. And there are some additional engine features, worth to be mentioned:
- aluminum DOHC cylinder head
- Forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods
- Oiling circuit that includes a dedicated feed for the turbocharger to provide increased pressure at the turbo and faster oil delivery
- Piston-cooling oil jets
- 16.5:1 compression ratio
- Common rail direct injection fuel system
- Ceramic glow plugs for shorter heat-up times and higher glow temperatures
- Balance shaft that contributes to smoothness and drives the oil pump

It looks like GM is trying its best to provide modern and flexible pieces of technology. We all hope, that the latest engine, incorporated in2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax will set the stage for even further advanced technologies.

Chevrolet Shows Colorado Trail Boss Edition in Cleveland [VIDEO]
Geneva Motor Show has been taking a lot of attention lately and this must be the reason why we missed the Cleveland Auto Show. This is exactly where a new beautiful red Chevrolet has debuted. Its name is Colorado Z71 Trail Boss Edition and it is ready for extreme adventures. Compared to the standard Colorado, this one has more aggressive appearance and better off-road capabilities. There are several reasons for this.First of all, the Trail Boss is fitted with the Z71 off-road truck suspension package. This means that it gets more rugged tires and some styling features. To be more precise, these include new projector beam headlamps and front fog lamps, as well as front recovery hooks and black rocker steps.
This Chevy will ride on standard 17-inch dark argent metallic alloys fitted with 265/65R17 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires. Exterior-wise the vehicle is also equipped with GearOn moveable cargo tie-down rings, load bar and cargo divider. Rounding out its visuals are the black fender flares as well as the front and rear black bowtie logos of the company.
Apparently there is nothing new throughout the interior, because Chevrolet hasn’t commented on that.
2015 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss Edition will be offered in two configuration options. It can be an extended or a crew cab, with the additional choice of long or short cargo bed. The four-wheel drive (4WD) is an option. This edition will go on sale in the spring and will have a price tag of $28,505 USD with package price of $3,320 USD.

Chevrolet has taken the wraps off its 2015 Colorado special edition truck which arrives with GearOn accessory system. The vehicle is going to make its debut this week during the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.
The new Chevy Colorado GearOn showcases a huge variety of nifty components which have the goal to increase the truck’s agility. What is more, the most recent improvements and additions on the truck ensure enough space so that it can accommodate outdoorsy items such as skis, bikes and kayaks. The mobile, energetic and dynamic style will appeal to the so-called lifestyle customers who are always on the move and ready to dive into new driving experiences.
What distinguishes the Colorado GearOn from other trucks is the GearOn bars, divider packages and the cargo tie-down rings along with other additional features which can be purchased at an extra cost. What is more, the vehicle benefits from glossy black 18-inch alloy wheels, off-road assist steps, Lower tailgate and EZ Lift. There is also a body-colored grille as well as front and rear black Chevrolet bow-tie emblems. Finally, remote start, rear window defogger and front fog lamps are also included in the package of goodies.
According to Chevrolet, the new Colorado special edition truck will be offered on LT trim models in extended or crew cab configurations, with the long or short cargo bed and a 4WD setup. The starting price is that of $31,250 with deliveries beginning this spring.
