Porsche has announced that they will offer Cayenne S Diesel coming with a mighty 4.2 liter twin-turbocharged V8. This is a bold move from the German manufacturer, because most of the people, who like fast vehicles choose the petrol variants and this is not everything. The true Porsche fans also like the petrol engines, instead of diesel variants. Still, this can be an interesting combination.
The twin-turbo V8 4.2-liter engine has 382HP (284 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 252 km/h (157 mph). Porsche claims that the big SAV will actually achieve a fuel consumption of 8.3 liters per 100 km, which is extremely hard for a big AWD SAV. That means that the 100-liter fuel tank it should be able to provide a range of more than 1200 km (750 miles).
The very special character of the Cayenne S Diesel is further underlined by the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive. This system delivers the dynamic qualities of a rear-wheel drive car, together with its inherent benefits in terms of handling and precision. Torque is directed to the front wheels precisely according to the driving situation to improve stability and traction. The optional Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) further hones this dynamic performance.
Other standard features include a dual-zone automatic climate control, leather interior, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, 7” touchscreen display and 18” alloy wheels fitted with low-profile performance tires.
The price for the big toy is €77,684 in Germany – including 19% VAT.
Think of a car which is a pure example of luxury and class! Of course a lot of instances come into mind but they disappear in a second when one thinks about the Porsche Cayenne.
This Porsche comes powered by a 3.6 L V6 engine producing 300 horsepower (221 kW). A manual gearbox serves as the standard transmission system here featuring an eight-speed Tiptronic as standard equipment.
However this lucky unit got even prettier. And if you ask how, well the people from PUR Wheels and SR Auto Group have the answer. The owner of this particular Cayenne arrived with the request of wheels which weren’t too flashy.
PUR Wheels immediately supplied the Cayenne with their newly engineered highly coveted 4OUR DEPTH design in a twenty two inch SUV fitment. We can now only admire the owner who drives this beauty.
JE Design have come up with a bodykit for the Porsche Cayenne that’s going to set you back 28,038 Euros ($34,338). It’s as if they have skinned an Alfa-Romeo Giulietta in a bit to create an exotic coat.
The kit does not even sound that sophisticated – The front skirt (which comes in two versions, one for the Cayenne Turbo/GTS and one for the Cayenne Diesel/S) utilizes the standard LED daytime running lights. Both skirts however do boast an optimized airflow and some low-mounted fog lights as well as long beam lights next to them. The JE Design hood also showcases some airflow thanks to three air outlets. At the back, 100 millimeter pipes (four of them) surround a diffuser while the C pillars get a pair extension. Also the wheel arches flare more know thanks to the new fenders. In case one feels like towing something with the now even more muscular Cayenne, there’s a cover on the rear bumper that hides the coupling device. The side sills also blend into the standard Cayenne design yet they radiate their own sportishness.
An aggressive stance is achievable through the suspension as well. A JE Design air module can be controlled through an iPhone app and does not hinder Porsche‘s Active Suspension Management damping system. Add to that four 10 x 22-inch alloy rims that have either five double spokes or five single spokes. The 295/30 R22 tires fill in nicely the beefed up wheel arches especially when we consider the 60 mm front and 80 mm back spacers.
It’s not all show and tell though. The Cayenne can seriously start shifting down the road with the JE Design engine management upgrades which are available for both petrol and diesel engines. The end power output may end up at 610 hp – serious stuff.
Gemballa see themselves as the force of evolution and today’s subject is the Porsche Cayenne 958. For it, they have a GT AERO 2 package which is basically a second stage carbon fiber body kit that adds a little flare to an already existing one – the GT AERO 1. Apparently, the latter was introduced at the beginning of this year.
So the GT AERO 2 adds wheel arch extensions and connecting side sills that “emphasize” (broaden) the Cayenne‘s width. Also…that’s about it. Everything aftermarketish on this Cayenne is the stuff seen on the GT AERO 1. That is, the front bumper and splitter, the rear bumper and the six tailpipes that stick out from it. The rooftop spoiler is the work of Gemballa too.
All finished and easily fitted, they had to find the appropriate wheels to fill in those arches. Will a set of 22-inch Gemballa bulks of alloy do the job?
TopCar has announced their latest project – the Vantage 2 Lemon. It is based on Porsche Cayenne II (the 958 model).
The main emphasis is on the exterior: setting of the aerodynamic body kid Vantage 2 and extraordinary coloring of the body.
Vantage 2 Set includes front and rear bumpers, front and rear fender extenders, side skirts and kicking plates, bonnet and boot lid spoiler. Besides it’s necessary to pay attention to the technology of the car coloring.
The main part of the surface is painted in citreous color. The exterior details (side window frames, front bumper inserts, bonnet vents, side-skits, kicking plates inserts, exterior mirror housings, spoilers, diffuser inserts, brake calipers) colored with a special pearl paint “Lime.”
The interior also gets some modifications including lines and edges continuing the external color idea. Moreover you can find new decorative panels with stripes of “Lime” color. The car was designed according to the special order for our client from the European Union. The client was directly involved in the design process.
Hofele Design has announced their new tuning project. It is called Cayster GT 670 – based on the popular Porsche Cayenne II. It comes with both style and performance modifications.
The interior boasts complete aerodynamics package including by a new styled bumper with bigger air vents and new design line. Part of the kit are emotional wheel arch extensions and a newly styled rear apron diffuser. Another strong design element are the 4-tube stainless steel tailpipes in the style of “interlaced double oval”. The interaction of these 4-tube tailpipes with the wider diffuser rear apron makes the rear of the Cayenne look very powerful.
The Hofele body kit parts are simply fitted at the original fixing points or glued onto the car without any changes and can be used for all Cayenne models, including the Turbo model.
The interior boasts elegant two-tone “StarLight” leather seats with quilted accents and Hofele logos on the headrests.
The SAV rolls “REVERSO II” in the sizes 20″ and 22″ alloy wheels fitted with low-profile performance tires. Furthermore, the whole vehicle can be lowered by 40mm.
Performance packages are available for 3.0 TDI V6 boosted to 300HP (221 kW) and 650Nm (479 lb-ft) – an increase of 55HP (40 kW) and 100Nm (74 lb-ft). The Cayenne S Hybrid can also be upgraded to 481HP (354 kW) and 737Nm (543 lb-ft), which is a whopping increase of 101HP and 157Nm.
Porsche has released a new promo video of the 2013 Cayenne GTS, which is expected to hit the European market this July.
The GTS model is not the top of range, but it boasts a lot of nice upgrades. It is based on the Cayenne S and comes with lowered sports suspension and full aerodynamics package including front bumper, a pair of modified side skirts and extended wheel arches.
2013 Cayenne GTS is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.8 liter V8 with 420HP (309 kW) and 516Nm (381 lb-ft) of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission delivering the power to an all-wheel-drive system. The SUV is not as heavy as the new ML or X5 and boasts superb acceleration – 5.7 seconds to 100 km/h and a top speed of 260 km/h (162 mph). The kerb weight is 2085 kg (4597 lbs).
The high-performance SUV 2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS is to make a world debut in Beijing. The vehicle delivers 420 hp (309 kW) and now comes with lowered chassis and improved driving dynamics.
The brand will finally unveil the second-generation Cayenne GTS at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in just two weeks. The popular SUV’s design is based on the Cayenne S. However this new model comes with 20 additional horsepower, a 20 mm lower ride height and a lower final drive ratio which equals improved driving dynamics.
The power of the 420 hp comes from the V8 engine (an active All-Wheel-Drive system) coupled to an eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission with integrated Auto Start Stop function. This is unique combination, indeed, because it enables the Cayenne GTS to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 5.4 seconds and achieve a top-track-speed of 162 mph.
The exterior of the car is no less than unique as well. The 2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS can be effortlessly recognized by its high-gloss black trim, prominent side skirts and wider wheel arches as well as the hood and front fascia from the Cayenne Turbo.
2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS
In addition, this SUV rides on 20-inch RS Spyder wheels with a one-of-a-kind offset for the GTS. They come as a standard. What comes also as a standard is the sport exhaust system with matte black twin tailpipes.
Furthermore, two new colors are available for the Cayenne GTS: Peridot Metallic and Carmine Red.
The interior of the Cayenne GTS includes exclusive GTS eight-way adjustable front sports seats with Alcantara accents. What is more here is the new Sport Chrono package, which is now available to monitor the advanced performance offered by this amazing GTS model. A Sound Symposer channels genuine engine intake sounds into the cabin.
The 2013 Cayenne GTS will go on sale in the U.S. in August 2012, with a base price of $82 050.
Here are several starts of a brutal Jeep Cherokee SRT-8 Supercharged with 700HP against some powerful, tuned vehicles – BMW X6M Hamann Stage 2 670HP, Porsche Cayenne Turbo Gemballa GT600 with 600HP, Ford Mustang GT500 612hp and Porsche 911 Turbo Stage 2 580HP.
As you can see, all these SAVs and cars are underpowered, but as we know – power is nothing without control. Although the BMW starts first with reaction time of only 0.310 seconds, it is quickly overtaken by the Jeep. The X6 M crosses the finish line with 248.31 km/h terminal speed against 246.74 km/h for the Cherokee.
In the second start versus the Cayenne Turbo the scenario is the same. Better reaction from the Porsche driver, but worse 60ft and overall performance – 236.43 km/h at 1 mile for the Cayenne and 262.49 km/h for the Cherokee.
The third start is versus the mighty Mustang having 612 HP, a lot less weight and way better cD (drag coefficient). At the start the Mustang is dominated, because it is RWD against the AWD in Cherokee. The Mustang’s 60ft time is bad – 2.198 seconds against just 1.699 seconds for the Cherokee. However, the car crosses the finish line with 284.27 km/h, which is more than enough for a win.
In the last start, the Cherokee is against Porsche 911 Turbo with 580HP. The SUV didn’t have any difficulties, because it started first, with better 60 ft time and overall performance – 260.05 km/h and 29.820 seconds at 1 mile.
Here is a Porsche Cayenne II. It has been around for 2 years now and has proven to be a very decent SUV. It’s 180 kg lighter than the first one, the front of it goes easy on the grilles and the headlights plus the interior design have some Panamera in them. So why are we even talking about it? Well, if you have an eye for that kind of things, the wheels are kind of custom and the ride is lowered.
Bad Segeberg based Schmidt Revolution house have fitted on this Cayenne four 10×22-inch one-piece five spoke summer rims. Its a set from their CC-Line. At the front, the tires size up to 295/30R22 while at the back they measure 335/25R22. They can be finished in silver, black (glossy or matte) and in exquisite black chrome. The last variant has a cover, made from a stainless steel, which doesn’t allow any dirt sticking on it. Also, because of an H&R-suspension lowering module, the Cayenne now sits lower than usual. As a result, the center of gravity is lower and drag is now a bit lower.
Otherwise, things remain pretty standard – with a base model, under the hood you should find a 3.6 L V6 engine that produces 300 PS. The power goes trough a 6-speed manual to all four wheels. Just think of it as a second generationVW Touareg and you”ll get the picture.
LUMMA DESIGN has recently released one of their latest tunings of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo under the name CLR 558 GT and now is aiming towards the diesel versions. It was improved to the performance power of the 600 hp (441 kW), and in it was mounted a broader CLR 558 GT aerodynamic kit. The exterior of the vehicle is painted in gloss black and is complemented with the CLR 22-inch wheels by LUMMA Design, also in black. LUMMA Design is also made modifications on the chassis, the sound and the interior.
The German tuners are offering now increased performance for this Cayenne Diesel. The tuning group improved the diesel engine with D-Power-Box, which is an additional electronic system and now draws out a whopping 280 hp (206 kW) instead of the standard 245 hp. Hence, the torque increases from 550 to the tremendous 630 Nm (464 lb-ft). As usual, LUMMA Design continues to offer an increased performance for the 4.8-liter V8 turbo gasoline engine by a moderate 100 hp (74 kW) or by considerably more horsepower to 600 hp (441 kW). In addition, LUMMA Design sports muffler guarantees a sportier rear appearance, thank to the highly-visible and centrally-positioned 80- and 100-mm-diameter tailpipes. For vehicles with a tow bar, the tuner will soon offer a 4-pipe exhaust system with left and right 4x100mm tailpipes. Moreover, for gasoline engines, there is provided a complete, stainless steel sport exhaust system.
2012 Lumma CLR 558 GT Porsche Cayenne
To go further into details, the LUMMA Design Body Kit CLR 558 GT consists of a front spoiler with fog lights and LED daytime lights in extravagantly-formed air inlets plus racing grill, a rear valance with diffuser optics, powerful front and rear fender extensions, new side skirts and the lettering “CLR 558 GT”. All components are largely made of PUR-RIM in OEM quality. In addition, this body kit can be improved by other supplementing components, such as tailgate spoiler that can be easily adhered to the tailgate. Furthermore, the high-quality, new-styled LUMMA Design sport-look lightweight engine hood is available from carbon/Kevlar composite material as well as from the motor sport material. Next, the headlights of the CLR 558 GT are refined by a set of headlight covers. There is also a set of covers for the rear lights. In addition, the tuners have included four LED’s on the vehicle floor on the left and right sides. They light up when the doors are opened or unlocked and show the passengers the way into the vehicle.
For the complete wheel sets there is a choice of two 22-inch options. The first wheel set includes new 10- or 12×22-inch sports rim LUMMA “CLR 22” in matte black or silver; and the second wheel set, named “Racing 3”, has a single-piece rim featuring a multi-piece look and glossy polished stainless steel outer rim.
Furthermore, LUMMA Design achieves a slightly lower center of gravity and more agile handling. This is due to the installation of an electronic lowering module or lowering springs, depending on which option the Cayenne has.
The interior of the Cayenne is improved by two-tone leather and Alcantara upholstery. There is also featured a wide range of additional accessories. Designed ergonomically and produced with elegant. The bicolor black-red leather interior, combined with Alcantara with contrasting color stitching, captures the attention immediately. The classic red seat belt completes the perfect look. The cockpit includes colored instrument dials in red as well as stainless steel door scuff plates with an illuminated LUMMA logo. The pedals and the foot rest are also transformed with aluminum. There is also included a foot mat made of high quality velour with an embroidered emblem and real leather edging.
