  • Electrified: Cam Shaft Volkswagen Golf VI R

Cam-Shaft-Volkswagen-Golf-VI-R-THUMBCam Shaft Volkswagen Golf VI R originally came from the factory with its 4-cylinder engine along with an exhaust turbocharger, which generated up to 270 hp (199 kW) as well as 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque.

The specialist from Cam Shaft has transformed this Volkswagen into an artistic object. First, they have cooperated with the firm MTB-vehicle engineering which tuned the engine’s performance and it is now increased to 325 hp (240 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. They have done this with their own software optimization level 2.

Secondly, platinum spark plugs and a downpipe including Sportkat make their essential contribution to the furious forward thrust of the power machine. Next, F2000 brake discs by Tarox and sport brake pads serve perfectly in powerful and effective way.

Furthermore, the springs by H & R and the Ultraleggera rims by OZ with adequate tires are those who connect the vehicle to the road. And at last, the foil called Electric Orange by BRUXSAFOL, brings about the last detail here, which makes this a special type of camouflage design stretching from the A-pillar towards the vehicle rear.

  • Cam Shaft Renault Clio RS as Ringtool

Cam-Shaft-Renault-Clio-RS-THUMBRenault Clio RS has just been chosen by the foiling company Cam Shaft as a ringtool. And if you aren’t aware what this term means – this is a vehicle which is taken just for fun of driving on racing circuits.

In this case the surface of the Renault has been foiled in matt Graphite Metallic, and the exterior mirrors are in green paintwork. Here the motor hood is very interesting, because when you look at it, it seems like that a can with green paint has accidentally fallen over it. As the slice wedge, an incitement MOVE RIGHT is affixed, but in green mirror writing.

The Clio RS originally comes with 17 inch RS rims. However, they have been powder-coated in green and covered with semi-slick tires from Kumho in 215/45. In combination with a coil-over suspension by H&R with Nurburgring North Loop tuning, a special kind of driving dynamics is achieved.

Another important highlight here is the modification done on the driving dynamics. The power has been enhanced to 225 hp (165 kW) and 250 Nm (185 lb-ft) of torque. In addition, there has been also installed a sports air filter by K&N. In fact the entire exhaust system has been modified with ingredients from Supersprint: bends, 100-cell sport catalysts and both the middle and the rear muffler are from Mantova.

The front part of the brake system has been replaced with the one from Renault Megane II. Combined with the stainless steel brake lines at the front and the rear it delivers optimum deceleration.

At last what is left to be said is that there is a Clubsport cage by Sahler Motorsport which is powder-coated in green, as well as the discreet Stickerbombing in the interior.

  • BMW M3 Wrapped by CAM SHAFT and More

Cam-Shaft-Guerilla-BMW-M3-thumbA silver painted…sorry…wrapped BMW M3. It’s the latest work from the German based Cam Shaft company. And it’s not really silver if we have to be honest: “mat space-gray metallic” is what they’ve told us. The foil itself is from the brand Bruxafol and is described as Platinum Wrapping Film. All may sound like fancy talk, but underneath the Guerilla M3 (that’s how they called it) is not what you call ordinary.

No, this M3 is a complex blend of custom parts that bring up some of the biggest names in the business. Take the front apron for example. It’s from Racing Dynamics. The die sills are courtesy of Hamman Motorsport and the exhaust system comes from the guys at Akrapovovic. The whole car sits closer to the ground thanks to a variant 3 KW coil over kit and thus the 19-inch BBS-Le Mans wheels, which themselves are wrapped with 245/35ZR19 and 265/35ZR19 tires front and back, look as prominent as they can be. Even the interior has an additional touch of carbon and aluminum under the brand of Hartge.

It’s nice to see that Cam Shaft are not all about the wrapping. Substance is what matters to us most and we can’t complain about that here with the Guerilla BMW M3.

  • Lotus Esprit by Cam Shaft

Cam-Shaft-Lotus-Esprit-V8-thumbNews from Cam Shaft. Yes, the company that ruined a rare Veyron with some silly wrapping. This time though, they seem to have done things properly. The car that has gone under the knife is a V8 Lotus Esprit made no earlier than 1996. Its standard output of 354 hp has been revamped, the gearbox has been replaced, the brakes are new and the bodywork serves as a tribute to the late Ayrton Senna.

The guys at Cam Shaft had a wonderful engine to work with right from the start – twin-turbocharged 3,506 cubic cm of power, 400 Nm of torque and 354 hp. The overall weight of the car amounted to just 1,380 kg which enabled it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and go on to a top speed of 282 km/h – monumental figures for the time.

By placing a Red Race control device on the car’s computer and by adding Forge adjustable cases inside the turbo compressor pumps, Cam Shaft manage to extract more juice from the Esprit’s V8. The intercooler has also been replaced and two 100-cell structure catalysts have been fitted so that now we have a 492 hp Lotus – quite up to today’s standards. Apparently, tests have shown that the zero-to-hundred time now stands at 4.3 seconds and the top speed stops counting at 305. Needless to say that, considering the new power surge, the gearbox needs to be up to standards as well. That’s why, at Cam Shaft, they have replaced it entirely with a 6-speed Dog-Engagement gearbox equipped with a longer total ratio. The brakes are also been replaced with ones that are bigger and more heat-efficient.

Finally, the wrapping – a black bodied trim that is pretty much reminiscent to Senna’s John Player Special 97T Formula 1 car. It even has his signature on it. It was the car with which he won his first championship. An honorable way to remember a racing legend.

  • 2012 Cam Shaft Renault Clio Eyecatcher delivers 200 horsepower

2012-Cam-Shaft-Renault-Clio-Eyecatcher-ThuMb2012 Cam Shaft Renault Clio Eyecatcher is the latest model, modified by the German tuning company Cam Shaft.

The vehicle is based on the motor sport model of Renault Clio 200 Cup. It comes with an optimized two-liter engine and thanks to it the car can surf usual streets with 200 hp (147 kW).

In addition, it is with 1,800 up to 2,000 ccm of cubic capacity.

The tuners from Cam Shaft have installed KW suspension of the Variant 2, which comes with racing sport bearings and discs. The brake lining is produced by EBC Brakers.

The K&N sport air filter fulfils its task in the engine house. In addition, the Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system produces great sound. Furthermore, the Alleggerita HTL OZ rims match Clio in perfect way. And in the interior has been installed Evo seats and steering wheel by Sparco.

But probably the most “eye-catching” thing about this model is its outer skin.  And here the tuners from Cam Shaft have done their best.

The Clio got a complete orange foil coating. Moreover, it also has hundreds of black patterns on the top and on the parts of the engine hood and fenders. And as you can see, in specific places the color flows in uncontrolled streams.

The secret of Cam Shaft is that they used the Platinum Wrapping Film by Bruxafol.

  • Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir Wrapped by Cam Shaft

Cam-Shaft-Veyron-Sang-Noir-thumbThe Veyron Sang Noir is an official limited edition from Bugatti that utilizes some black paint for the exterior, has its carbon bits exposed and wears an orange upholstery. Other deviations from the standard include the design of the grille, the headlights (tinted) and the wheels – except that interior, the Noir sounds like a subtle job, no? Sadly however, while there are only 15 such in the world, one is currently being ruined by a vinyl company. Unless this car belongs to an energy drink company, this desecration cannot be justified.

The company responsible for this is known as Cam Shaft, based in Lower Rhine, Germany. Atrocities had begun even at the start of the restyling – chrome blue for a car that goes under the label Noir (Black). But we could have let that one slide. Black often can be a concept rather than something material. But then we get to the reflective foil “flash wires”. We see where they were going with this – wanting to make the Veyron angrier and scarier, more electric and so on. But it hasn’t worked. No, it looks more like a bad case of varicose veins. In addition the carbon fiber parts, the front and the headlights are covered with some sort of a paint protection film, which is fine by itself. However, the stated purpose of this film is a bit odd – reducing the likelihood of everyday road impacts at speeds of over 400 kmph. Because, leisurely driving up to the grocery store at 400 kmph is no doubt, an everyday issue.

While the services of Cam Shaft are said to be $2,667 on average, this one goes in the “five-figure region”.

P.S. – we are not entirely sure if Gemballa are somehow involved but the gallery certainly suggests so.
