  • “La Finale” for Bugatti: Last Veyron is Already Sold!

There is no more Veyron. Unfortunately it is true, since Bugatti has just announced that it has sold the last example of world’s most powerful production supercar. It is exactly the 450th example of the model, which is equipped with the engine famous for its 1,200 horses. The model has been one of the most wished and dreamt-of cars since its introduction ten years ago. The company had goals and they definitely achieved them, aiming high at an output of more than a thousand horsepower.

The biggest challenge for Bugatti however, wasn’t the top speed of more than 400 km/h, but the acceleration time which had to be less than three seconds. The dreams did come true for the French automaker: in 2005 it presented the Veyron 16.4, then – in 2008 the roadster Grand Sport version was introduced followed by the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport that got even more horses at hand. The last modification of the car was announced in 2012, being the open-top version of the previous and dubbed Grand Sport Vitesse.

Sixteen cylinders and exactly 1,200 hp (882 kW) next to mind-blowing torque of 1,500 Nm (1107 lb-ft) and 2.5 seconds acceleration time, point out that all goals were met. Even more, the car made a world record, achieving speed of 431.072 km/h!

All good things come to an end eventually and now the time for the closure of the last chapter in Veyron’s history has come. The 450th example, a roadster one, has already been sold. And it is no surprise that a customer from the Middle East has bought it.

Fortunately for the fans, Bugatti will display the car (called with the dramatic name “La Finale”) at the Geneva Motor Show. As a tribute to this amazing part the model has played in automotive history, the company will also show the Veyron with chassis number 1. Both vehicles do represent collector’s items and their value will definitely exceed the average price of a Veyron, which is estimated around 2.3 million euros.

  • Bugatti Pays Tribute To Veyron

Bugatti-Veyron-EB-THUMBBugatti is celebrating the Veyron at this year’s Salon Rétromobile in Paris. There the visitors will be delighted to see the astonishing Bugatti EB 18/4 Veyron Retromobil design study. The study was shown for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1999 and since then it hasn’t appear.

As a matter of fact, the supersports car EB 18/4 Veyron marked the start of the production of the fastest car in the world the Veyron 16.4. For the creation of the model Bugatti took as an inspiration the excellent accomplishments in motorsport racing it has achieved. Of course, this can be traced in the design and form of the vehicle, as well as its interior and name.

In 2005 the world saw the launch of Bugatti Veyron 16.4 which awed the world with its 1001 horsepower (736 kW). Five years later Veyron 16.4 Super Sport appeared on the automotive scene, offering a top speed of 431.072 km/h. This top speed still holds the world speed record. The production of both models was limited to a mere 300 units and all have been sold out since 2011.

The current portfolio of the brand includes the roadster Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, with 1001 hp, and the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse that produces even more power – 1200 hp (882 kW). The latter model holds the title of world’s fastest series production covertible.

The roadsters are also with limited run of 150 units and so far Bugatti has been sold two thirds of them. This means that there are only circa 40 vehicles still available.

  • Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Meo Costantini at 2013 Dubai International Motor Show

Bugatti has announced a new special edition Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse. It’s name is Meo Costantini and it will be introduced at the 2013 Dubai International Motor Show.

The series of Bugatti Legend cars, “Les Légendes de Bugatti”, was launched in August at California’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with the Vitesse “Jean-Pierre Wimille”. This was followed by the Legend car, “Jean Bugatti”, which was presented at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt and now, the third Legend Edition, dedicated to Meo Costantini is introduced.

Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse is powered by an 8.0 liter W16 quad-turbo engine – 1200HP (883 kW) and 1500Nm (1106 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is connected to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. 0-100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 7.1 seconds, 0-300 km/h in 16 seconds dead. The top speed is 410 km/h (254 mph).  ¼ mile is covered in 10.0 seconds flat and 1 mile in just 25.0 seconds. Other interesting disciplines like 0-100-0 km/h take 5.9 seconds and 0-200-0 take 12.9 seconds. The interesting discipline 0-300-0, which is brutal for the brake system takes 23.9 seconds.

The exterior features wings, doors, the parts behind the doors, the “medaillons” (French) and corners of the front bumper rendered in aluminium. The blue paintwork on the carbon fiber parts references France’s classic motor sport color, as well as the Type 35. The new paint color “Bugatti Dark Blue Sport” has been specially developed for the vehicle. The aluminium parts are hand-polished and coated with clear lacquer.

The interior of the Legend Vitesse “Meo Costantini” is completely upholstered in leather. The roof, footwell, center sections of the seats and rear wall are all in the color “Gaucho”, a sophisticated cognac tone. The seat’s side cushions, arm rests, extended center console, door panels, dash panel, instrument panel and steering wheel are all trimmed in dark blue leather in the “Lake Blue” color.

Nothing is mentioned about the pricing, but it will be around €2,000,000. In case you are not billionaire, there is still chance to get one, of you make smart decisions.

  • Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse in Action [video]

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Special Edition is the most powerful roadster ever created by the luxury brand. It is finished in either Bianco and New Light Blue color scheme.

The new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is powered by the well-known 8.0 liter W16 quad-turbo engine delivering 1200HP (882 kW) and 1500Nm (1111 lb-ft) of torque at just 3000RPM. 0-100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 410 km/h (255 mph). This means that Vitesse is the fastest production roadster ever.

The supercar has new lighter 20” “Vitesse”-type alloy wheels. Bugatti has adapted the brake-cooling system as well. The brakes are unparalleled in terms of stability and performance and now get larger air intakes.

A significant decrease in wind noise was achieved through the newly developed roof spoiler. Another innovation included in the roadster is the new windbreak, which can be stored away compactly in the luggage compartment.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Special Edition version costs $2 500 000.

  • Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse Debut at Geneva

Bugatti-Veyron-Grand-Sport-Vitesse-thumbThe Lamborghini Aventador J that is currently on a stand at the Geneva Motor Show is without question a magnificent looking roadster. Powerful too, with 700 BHP to play with. But, its mad looks and the fact that it has no windshield render it a bit silly. It shouldn’t be taken as a joke in any case, it can still shed your face off, but it’s all a bit of fun, it relies on flamboyancy and spunk. It beats its chest that it is what it is – a Lamborghini titan of hypercars.

However, the Aventador J does not, in any possible way, overshadow that other roadster at the show. I am talking about the god of hypercars (with a haircuts) – Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.

As far as the figures are concerned, today this is the fastest open-top in the world. The Vitesse builds on the success of the previous Grand Sport that had “mere” 1001 ponies at its disposal. Now, by overhauling the four turbos and intercoolers, Bugatti have made the Vitesse more Super Sport-worthy. Let’s sum it up: a 7.9 liter W16 engine that brings 1,200 BHP and 1500 Nm of torque to all four wheels. The top speed is 410 kph or 255 mph (limited to 375 kph/233 mph). A zero to sixty time – 2.6 seconds. Yikes!

That new-found power has triggered an inevitable chain reaction that jolts trough the whole Veyron construction. Bugatti has promptly reinforced all drivetrain components in order to safely transfer the immense forces at any given moment. The bits within the 7-speed DSG gearbox have been specially modified to cope fairly with the new stresses. The same goes for the airflow that used to run through the components of the previous Grand Sport. It has now been further optimized. Ironically, somehow with the more power, the fuel economy has also been improved.

The chassis has had some work done. New, “quick-responding” dampers have been fitted which literally obliterate the possibility of body roll or pitching during braking or accelerating. The ESP has been revised to “lag” just a little bit after shooting out form a corner so that you can have that millisecond of slipperishness. Additionally, the brakes are now being cooled more efficiently in order for them to cope with the increased power.

Many aerodynamic components from the Super Sport have been picked off, redesigned and stuck to the Grand Sport Vitesse. At the front, bigger air intakes around the center grille, slashed with a line horizontally, give the car some identity. The bottom air vent stretches sideways into the wheel housing and gives this exceptional sports car an extremely masterful appearance. Further down, there is a newly made front spoiler. The Headlights, with their black frames are also new. The rear end also comes from the Super Sport but with two diffusers and two tailpipes clustered in the middle. All-new, lighter 20-inch “Vitesse”-type alloy wheels complete the picture

The two highest points of the car are the air scoops on the engine cover. Familiar from the Grand Sport, these are now again redesigned for the Vitesse and also act as components of an anti-roll protection system. Needless to say, that just like its predecessor, the Vitesse is virtually made all from carbon fiber.

Since you can go your way with the customization process, the end products may vary. That is why at the Geneva Motor Show there are two Vitesse configurations – one is in a strikingly blue, exposed carbon fiber finish and the other in “JetGrey” coating with an orange interior and black rims and grille. For the more conventional Veyron fans there’s also a classic Grand Sport version present just to remind you that it still exists.
