A Swiss tuning studio finds ways to make the iconic BMW X4 even more appealing

And when we think of Indian Summer, we think about the new X4 (GO2) machine – a SAV coupe that has confidently positioned itself in the competitive lineup with X-Typical power and sexy looks.

However, Dähler Design & Technik GmbH from Belp has decided to exploit the capabilities of the vehicle and add some sexy and functional additions. The result is simply astonishing, given that the studio has already proved itself with other tuning projects. For this particular machine, the crew has included a powerful gasoline engine that produces a total of 420hp and 630Nm of torque, mated to a revised eight-speed automatic that adds neat kick to the overall sporty spirit of the lucky X4.

Also, for the chassis, there was a fine-tuned sporty suspension kit included that lowers the overall height of the vehicle and significantly reduces the sway movements and contributes to overall sexy appearance. Furthermore, there’s a top-tuned harmonious and shock-absorbent suspension solution by installing numerous adjustable suspension with crisp and sporty taunt identification. And last, but most certainly not least, the team has included a sporty stainless exhaust system with a total of four tailpipes that were handcrafted by the team as well. Neat!

dÄHLer is taking the BMW X4 M40i to unknown levels of performance and aerodynamics

dÄHLer BMW X4 M40i equipped with tuner’s “competition line” offers unmatched horsepower

The tuning company dÄHLer strikes again with an exclusive project, which this time is based on the X4 M40i powered by the N55-engine. The significant customization pushes further the innate capabilities of the SUV. Equipped with what the tuner is calling “dÄHLer competition line”, this X4 M40i is more powerful and dynamic as it has ever been.

In short, the modifications included here feature performance increase to 424 HP, new coil-over suspension system and performance braking unit, stainless steel exhaust system as well as new wheels and tires combination. The experts also worked on optimizing the aerodynamics and the appearance of the X4.

Starting with the main feature here, the performance step-up, it is available in three different levels. The first one fires up the in-line six-cylinder M TwinPowerTurbo with 2.979 cubic capacity to 395 HP (294 kW) and 772 Nm (570 ft-lb) of torque. The next level brings everything to 414 HP (309 kW) and 786 Nm (580 ft-lb) of maximum torque. At its best, the optimization (Level 3) brings the horses up to 424 HP (316 kW) and the impressive 800 Nm (590 ft-lb).

To be even more specific, the last numbers are more than enough to push the BMW X4 M40i from 0 to 100 in only 4.5 seconds. The top speed has been set to 270 km/h. The best part: the emissions remain unchanged from the original series.

The added performance means that there is a great need for better handling. So, the tuner added new coil-over suspension system, which increases the agility of the X4. In addition, the sporty-tight suspension system lowers the X4 enough to make it look more aggressive. dÄHLer has also given this BMW 8-piston high performance braking system with brake discs sized 400 millimeter.

In terms of visuals, the appearance of the X4 M40i is updated with better aerodynamics due to the addition of new and more efficient front spoiler lip. The rear is enhanced with a new rear wing (optional) as well as stainless steel exhaust system.

At last but not least of importance is tuner’s variant of wheel and tire combination. In other words this BMW X4 M40i runs on 20- or 21-inch (depending on the choice of the customer) dÄHLer CDC1 wheels fitted with respectfully big tires.

HAMANN Releases Special Aero & Performance Packs for X4 and X6 [w/videos]

HAMANN BMW X4 F26 Front View HAMANN MOTORSPORT has revealed two stunning new BMWs, the X4 and X6, that feature extensive tuning program, making them not only look better, but also drive faster. In addition, the company has released videos for both of the models that are of course featured below. Let’s see why they call the BMW X4 F26 a big breakthrough and the BMW X6 M50d more enjoyable for driving.

HAMANN BMW X4 F26

This is the tuned variant of the BMW X4 F26, which has already gained many fans. And there are a lot of reasons for this. The vehicle features all-wheel drive, responsive handling and exceptional performance. Now, with this individualization kit from HAMANN, the BMW X4 finally feels… complete.

In particular, the striking aero kit comprises of black carbon fiber rear wing with side flaps, Competition front spoiler, set of four-pieced wheel-house trims, four-pipe sport rear muffler and chrome tailpipes. Everything is backed up by 21-inch ANNIVERSARY EVO SILVER alloys and HAMANN MOTORSPORT’s suspension optimization.

HAMANN BMW X6 F16 Widebody

The other BMW under the spotlight is the massive X6 M50d, which received a premium widebody kit. The one-off pack comes with a distinctive look and an impressive extra performance. To go into details, the kit comprises of carbon-fibre bonnet that is ultra-lightweight, front bumper, set of front fenders, set of side skirts, door panels, rear fender extensions, rear bumper, carbon-fiber rear wing including side flaps and stone protection film.

Just like the X4, this SUV runs on 23-inch ANNIVERSARY EVO SILVER wheels that are even further emphasized with the lowering suspension kit. Another striking feature of this car is the App-controlled four-pipe Active Sound sports exhaust system in the middle of the rear skirt. BMW X4 M40i Is Here! But What Can It Offer?

2016 BMW X4 M40i BMW X4 series goes through even higher ranks with the introduction of BMW X4 M40i. This vehicle offers even more features as standard equipment and ensures improved driving dynamics and flexibility. After all, we are talking about a BMW vehicle. So, let’s check it out.

Visuals

The exterior of the X4 M40i shows the high aims of the brand. There are numerous exclusive components as the side mirrors, the exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy double-spoke wheels, sporty exhaust system with valve control and chrome Black tailpipes. The unit delivers a total of 360 hp (265 kW) at 5,800-6,000 rpm and provides a maximum torque level of 465 Nm. This all helps the vehicle to go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than five seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (138 mph). Furthermore, the whole system consumes 8,6 liters of fuel for every 100 km and its combined CO2 emissions are measured at 199 g/km.

Driving Character

The latest X4 model comes with further-enhanced driving dynamics. The stronger springs and stabilizers, along with the increased camber on the front axle and the adaptive dampers make really the car feel like it flies or floats on water. And when we add the fine-tuned characteristics of the Performance Control, this beauty’s driving and handling capabilities are beyond perfect.

LIGHTWEIGHT BMW X4 is Dressed to Impress

LIGHTWEIGHT tuner has set its eyes on BMW X4. Thanks to the professional team, the crossover-SUV is “dressed to impress”. The car has gained optimized and more exciting look and can now demonstrate stronger driving dynamics.

The performance improvements are done with the help of an extra control unit that guarantees 365 HP (268 kW) with a peak torque of 690 Nm. Another way is through field boost which delivers even more horses, precisely 375 HP (276 kW). Torque rates are increased to 700 Nm. Finally there is a Vmax-increase up to 280 km/h.

When we observe the tweaked BMW X4 from the outside, it looks more powerful than ever. The dark frozen gray finish makes the car look sleek, stylish and ready to rock n’ roll. In order to ensure optimal protection of this Bavarian beast, the tuning company has wrapped the car in ceramic two-component solid filling. It is applied on the discs too. The exterior is complimented by LIGHTWEIGHT-carbon fiber mirror covers, spoiler and rear apron insert. Black gloss or carbon fiber front spoiler is also part of the highlights on the outside. There is a Hartge-Classic 2-wheelset in 9.5×21. It comes with Michelin PilotSuperSport in 245/35-21 at the FA and in 10.5×21 with 265/30-21 at the RA. The wheelset is protected with four component permanent sealing. 30 mm lowering is available too thanks to the in-house suspension with Bilstein-parts.

AC Schnitzer presents the BMW X4 in an outstandingly athletic version

Despite the continuous presence of BMW X4 on the market, there hasn’t been done a major overhaul until the German tuner company AC Schnitzer took on this ‘initiative’. With the improvements given by the tuner, the face of BMW X4 is changed. It receives an impressive athletic vision which shapes the car’s look like that of a real winner!

The enhancements include new aerodynamic parts like front spoiler, a new rear diffuser, carbon fiber mirror covers and a new rear skirt protection foil.

Apart from the aerodynamics and the wheels, AC Schnitzer has been working on improving some technical qualities as well. In consequence, BMW X4 20i (export version) delivers 245 hp and BMW X4 28i can go up to 294 hp. The winner among those models in terms of power, though, is the BMW X4 35i which can even amaze world championship judges with its mighty 360 hp.

On the diesel front there are some good enhancements as well. The diesel version comes with performance upgrades from 190 to 220 hp (in preparation) for the 20d, 309 hp for the xDrive30d and 360 hp for the xDrive35d. Initially, all performance updates have been developed on AC Schnitzer’s principle of “Efficient Performance.” In other words, that means that although the engine power is extended, the CO₂ emissions remain the same. So the CO₂ value per hp falls. All of them come with a two year warranty up to 100,000 km (62,000 miles).

The Aachen-based tuning professionals are fully aware that inner characteristics play a very crucial role for they raise the market value of a certain car. For this reason, AC Schnitzer completes the changes by providing the new BMW with pedal set and foot rest made of aluminum, the unique AC Schnitzer keyholder and the velours footmats. Along with this, the German tuner integrates a gear knob with digital gear display, illuminated leather gear knob and “Black Line” aluminium gear knob which highlight the sporty interior feel of BMW X4.

Manhart Racing BMW X4 F26 – 375HP and 740Nm

Manhart Racing has unveiled their tuning package for the all-new BMW X4 xDrive35d. The compact SAC (Sports Activity Coupe) comes with a significant power boost and improved stance.

The 3.0 liter twin-turbocharged diesel originally produces – 313HP (230 kW) and 630Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque. The performance package boosts the engine to 375HP (276 kW) and 740Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque, which is exactly the same torque like the three-turbocharged 3.0 liter diesel found in M50d models.

2014 BMW X4 xDrive35d does 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, so the new time will be around 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). However, Manhart didn’t release any official performance data.

The ride height is lowered thanks to a set of sport springs and the stance is further improved by huge Concave One 21“ wheels finished in silver or black.

BMW has recently announced the new X4, which is available only with diesel engines – xDrive20d; xDrive30d and xDrive35d. The entry-level model is available from £36,590 OTR. The all-new 2014 X4 combines all unique features of the BMW X family with the stylish elegance of a classical coupe. For now the only rival of the model is the recently unveiled Porsche Macan.

2015 BMW X4 – Sports Activity Coupe for Women

The official revealing of the all-new 2014 BMW X4 matches to International Women’s Day. There is no doubt that the X6 is one of the most muscular and aggressive vehicles currently available on the market and if you match it with a powerful twin-turbo V8 engine, it becomes a real beast, which is certainly not suitable for girls. That’s why, the German manufacturer has created the X4, which turns to be a women’s SAC.

Do not mistake the new X4 with soft and shy car, which you can see on the road. It has a really strong presence thanks to the wide stance and the aggressive front. This SAC is designed for strong and independent women, who want to declare their presence on the road.

The exterior of 2015 BMW X4 boasts a prominent grille flanked by twin headlights and distinctive fog lights. The sloping roofline and the four doors without frames are classic for the sports coupe design. At the rear, we can see L-shaped LED taillights and a big diffuser. The X4 is based on the current X3, but it is 14mm longer and 36mm lower, which means more interior space even for up to five people.

Talking about interior, it is classical for the current BMWs – a semi-driver oriented dashboard with a lot of switches and buttons. The i-Drive console is placed on more intuitive place and features touch function. There is a lot of high quality materials used in the cabin as well as aluminum trim, electroplated accents and gloss black control panel surrounds. There is also a 40:20:40 split rear seat which folds down to expand the luggage compartment to whopping 1,400 liters.

The engine range includes three diesel and three gasoline engines at the beginning. The diesels are a 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder with 190 HP (140 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft); a 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder with 258 HP (190 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) and a 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder with 313 HP (230 kW) and 630 Nm (464 lb-ft). The petrol range includes a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder with 184 HP (135 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft); a 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol with 245 HP (180 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) and a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder petrol with 306 HP (225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft).

In conclusion, the 2015 X4 is a real BMW coming with aggressive exterior, ergonomic interior and powerful engines. It is a perfect choice for those who don’t want a vehicle as big as X6, but they want to be noticed.

BMW Concept X4 [video]

BMW has recently announced the all-new X4 Sports Activity Coupe Concept. The model will make its official appearance at the 2013 Auto Shanghai. The manufacturer has also released a video showing some of the highlights of the Concept.

X4 has a sporty front end featuring a prominent grille, sporty front fascia and LED-infused headlights. There is also a sculpted front hood, a very distinctive roof line and a dual exhaust system.

BMW X4 is scheduled to hit the market in the beginning of the next year. It will be produced in Spartanburg, South California, where the manufacturer is planning to invest around $900 million.

The engine range will include the four cylinder engine in 28i models – 245HP and 352Nm as well as the mighty 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo with 306HP and 400Nm (296 lb-ft) of torque.

BMW X4 Concept [leak images]

Here are some interesting leak images – BMW X4 Concept, which is set to make its public appearance at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show.

The SAC (Sports Activity Coupe) looks a lot like its bigger brother – the X6. BMW X4 Concept boasts a sporty front end featuring a prominent grille, sporty front fascia and LED-infused headlights. There is also a sculpted front hood, a very distinctive roof line and a dual exhaust system.

Actually, the manufacturer has revealed their plans to build the new X4 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The model is still not confirmed for the market, but it is expected in the beginning of the next year.

The engine range will include the well-known power unit from the X3 – the TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 245HP as well as the 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo I6 with 306HP.
