  • 2016 Batmobile Is Here to Serve Some Justice! [VIDEO]

2016 BatmobileIt is here! Finally, the latest Batmobile is here! Well, it has been unveiled for a long time, but now it is available for public to take a close look at it. legendary in every aspect, the car has been Batman’s most trustworthy accomplice since his early years. And for his 75 years of serving justice, the superhero has had them all: stylish and elegant-looking, aggressive and muscular, hi-tech and sporty. And now the time of the latest concept has come. The vehicle, especially created to aid the Bat in his fight with Superman has a lot to demonstrate. So, let’s check it out!

    2016 Batmobile

At first sight the vehicle looks muscular and aggressive. With the wide wheelbase and the bigger rear wheels, completely surrounded by metal components this machine is definitely not built for prom nights and club parties. Along with the numerous metal components, there are some guns and of course, a ton of gadgets that help Batman in his quest of serving justice.

We also get an idea of how will the inside look like. There are numerous control buttons, a special action-stick and a steering wheel that looks like taken out from NASA’s secret hi-tech base. And if not anything else, the interior doesn’t look cozy at all. Nor even comfortable. It looks like this time Batman heavily relies on everything he has got in order to defeat Superman. Obviously there is no place for comfort and billionaire-like cozy stuff.

    2016 Batmobile

It looks like this time the movie producers and engineers went for that apocalyptic approach. An truly the 2016 Batmobile looks like it had numerous battles and struggles with enemies and road conditions. And at the end we do hope for two things: first, we hope that this vehicle, along with all its gadgets will help Batman’s ultimate quest and secondly, we also hope that the movie itself will be as interesting as the concept for the last Batman vehicle is.

Throughout the years we have seen all kind of stylish, yet extremely powerful and capable of numerous tricks machines, but the latest model really demonstrates  some aggression and  a stance, that shows, that the car is ready to fight with everything and everyone, that happens to be in front of it. The aggressive looks is further boosted with the two big guns at the front, the loads of armor, the semi-exposed front wheel. It looks like the director had some influence of the Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, which included a massive and also aggressive-looking Batmobile.

  • 1963 Batmobile Sold for $137,000 at Heritage Auctions [VIDEO]

In the beginning of last week we told you that the original 1963 Batmobile went on sale at Heritage Auctions. Well, now the car is sold this Saturday and the lucky owner has spent only $137,000 USD for it. This is only a tiny fraction of the $4.2 million that a buyer paid last year for another version built for the television show that aired during the 1960s.This Batmobile was born in 1963 and was developed by Forrest Robinson.

The story begins with a design sketch in 1960 and then an actual build of the car which was finished in 1963. This means that the “’63 Batmobile” is the earliest known car in existence that was sanctioned by a DC Comics licensee. The car was put up for auction by Toy Car Exchange LLC. This is an online marketplace for collectible cars, which bought and restored the vehicle.

The car retained the original frame, parts, and engine, and was given a second life. For this project, Forrest Robinson customized his 1956 Oldsmobile 88 with a 324 Rocket engine to resemble the single-fin vehicle depicted in DC’s Batman Comics from the 1940s and 1950s.

The body of the Oldsmobile was replaced with custom-designed body, measuring 17 feet by 83 inches. It featured Batmobile’s iconic bat-nose front end and pocket sliding doors.Eventually, the Batmobile was abandoned in a New Hampshire field and, for almost fifty years.

It did not resurface until 2008, when the car was discovered by Bobby Smith. He sold it to a rare car dealer in Chicago, who then re-sold it to auto historian George Albright and then it was purchased by Toy Car Exchange LLC. The vintage car restorer Borbon Fabrications restored the car.

  • Original 1963 Batmobile on Sale at Heritage Auctions [VIDEO]

The officially licensed Batmobile was born in 1963 and was developed by Forrest Robinson. The story begins with a design sketch in 1960. After finishing it, Robinson and Len Perham, begun building the car in the Robinson family barn. Then, the completion of the car continued in 1963, which is exactly two years before the George Barris customization of the TV Batmobile was started.

This basically means that the “’63 Batmobile” is the earliest known car in existence that was sanctioned by a DC Comics licensee.Robinson’s earlier car is instantly recognizable as “more authentic” by comic book fans. It features, seen in DC’s Batman Comics from the 1940s and ’50s, the prominent front-end bat-nose and rear-end single fin.

The car was custom-built from the ground up. As a basis served the 1956 Oldsmobile 88 frame and the famous 324 Rocket engine. The body of the Oldsmobile was replaced with custom-designed body, measuring 17 feet by 83 inches. It featured Batmobile’s iconic dorsal fin, bat-nose front end and pocket sliding doors. After the built up of the car finished in 1963, Robinson painted it in space-age silver.

The car became a stunning piece of art-on-wheels. Robinson initially used the car for regular driving, but when Batmania started in earnest, the car caused such a sensation that ALL STAR Dairies and its New Hampshire affiliate, Green Acres Ice Cream, leased it for a promotional campaign. For this purpose, it was repainted in official Batman colors, and of course – badged with official Batman labels.

Then it toured the Eastern United States as “Batman’s Batmobile”. It is kind of irony that Forrest, who needed cash to start a fabricating business, sold the car for only $200 USD.What was the destiny of the car? It was abandoned in a New Hampshire field and, for almost fifty years, remained a long-forgotten piece of American Pop Culture. Until 2008, when the car was discovered by Bobby Smith.

He sold it to a rare car dealer in Chicago, who re-sold it to auto historian George Albright. In 2013, 1963 Batmobile was purchased by Toy Car Exchange and transported to Borbon Fabrications to be restored to pristine condition. The vehicle retained the original frame, parts, and engine, and was given a second life.

Now the car is to be found at Heritage Auctions and is currently on sale for at least $90,000 USD.

  • More Pictures of the Future Batmobile Revealed

Zack-Snyder-BatmobileTHUMBProbably there isn’t almost anyone reading this who hasn’t watched at least one of the Batman movies. And since the director Zack Snyder is currently filming the last one, starring Ben Affleck as Batman himself, the enthusiasts and fans are eager to know everything around it. The latest news that Snyder has uncovered via his official Twitter account is couple of pictures giving additional glimpse of the Batmobile.

The exclusive vehicle, which helped the superhero save lives and make history, was based on a Lincoln roadster in the original series to the Tim Burton-era. But just take a look at the pictures and you will see that the car has evolved tremendously over the years.

Despite the fact that we have to wait until March 2016 to see the film, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, going officially on the screen and having a real impression of the last Bat-vehicle, the released images show that it (the car) has some good shapes.

A few months ago, Snyder tweeted a rear 3/4 view of the cloaked Batmobile. Then followed a close-up shot with Ben Affleck in costume, and the latest couple of images show the car on the set in Detroit. The car definitely looks pretty badass.

From what we can judge, it is something like mix between Tim Burton’s Batmobile and Christopher Nolan’s. It has all flat panels converging at the sharp angles of the vehicle, has some bulgy tires, vents, ducts and its whole body is covered with military-grade bolt-ons.

  • Batmobile will be a part of Historics at Brooklands auction

One of the most iconic and distinctive film cars of all time is the Batmobile. It will be a part of Historics at Brooklands auction in Surrey on June 2 this year.

Mark Perkins, who is one of Historics’ investors, owns the car since 1988.

“Classic cars, and this one in particular, should be driven to be enjoyed, and I’ve loved taking it on the road over the years.  However, my work with Historics at Brooklands will leave me little time to do so in the future, and so sadly it’s time someone else derived pleasure of ownership.”, said Mark Perkins.
