  • Elfyn Evans Showcases his Special 2016 Ford Fiesta WRC Vehicle

    2016 Ford Elfyn Evans M-Sport Fiesta RS WRCThe M-Sport World Rally Team Ford Fiesta RS WRC of Elfyn Evans will be demonstrated with unique livery at this week’s Wales Rally GB. And with the support of Evan’s stunning vehicle, Autosport International will be carrying show’s unmistakable logo.

    The special collaboration between M-Sport and Autosport International demonstrates that the team will be presenting their latest products and expertise at the show, which takes place between January 14-17, 2016.

    Widely recognized as a traditional and trustworthy start to the motorsport season, Autosport International attracts racers, team and audience, while M-Sport will again have that unmistakable strong presence. There will be a large number of M-Sport products to be displayed at the show, along with engineers and sales representatives on-hand to provide the ultimate advice and guidance for the upcoming season.

    As you might remember, last year’s event witnessed the team showcase the 100th Ford Fiesta R5 in stunning gold and black livery. This year the crew also has some surprises both for fans and professionals. But they will be reviewed as the unique event makes some progress.

  • Zenos E10 To Follow In The Footsteps Of Caterham

    Zenos-E10-shadowZenos-E10-medium-2The rather specific family of road legal, open-top, step-in, two-seater sports cars is set to grow further with one new member. On January the 9th, the Autosport International in Birmingham kicks off – “Europe’s largest dedicated motorsport trade show”. Visitors will have the chance to witness the revelation of the Zenos E10 – a super lightweight Ariel Atom kind of car

    The Zenos Cars company is the brainchild of former Caterham Cars CEO Ansar Ali and former COO Mark Edwards. They have also been noted on their work at Lotus. Main point: should be very, very good around the corners.

    As for the bits inbetween the bends, The Zenos E10 has a mid-mounted 2.0-liter engine that’s been borrowed from Ford. It develops 200 hp which should be plenty enough considering that the whole thing weighs just about 650 kg. That’s 300 hp per tonne. The acceleration from 0 to 60 is under 5 seconds.

    It’s cleverly made too. A single, aluminium extrusion ‘backbone’ spans the length of the E10, delivering impressive torsional rigidity, accompanied by an aluminium rear sub frame and a safety cell incorporating twin roll hoops and side-impact protection. The driver and passenger are nestled neatly in an integrated carbon composite monocoque made out of recycled carbon fiber materials.

    Production should start at the end of 2014 and the first deliveries are expected during the opening quarter of 2015. There are also plans for Roadster and GT Coupé versions of the E10 (promptly called E11 and E12 respectively).

    Renault’s New Mégane Trophy makes its UK debut alongside its hardcore road-going sister Mégane Renaultsport R26.R in a one-two that is guaranteed to wow the crowds at Autosport International, the world’s biggest motorsport show, on 8th-11th January, 2009. The cars join the Clio Renaultsport Cup race car, Formula Renault 2.0 single-seater car and Clio Renaultsport R3 rally car as stars of the Renault Sport UK stand, which once again hosts a combined display with the Renault-backed Super One Karting series in Hall 6, stand 6210.
