  • HG-Motorsport Releases Better Version of Audi TTS

The day begins with news about Audi and now it is time to introduce you to the latest work of the customization specialists at HG-Motorsport. TTS is the model under their attention, which has not only received visual styling tweaks but also got more power under the hood.

    Engine

The production version of the car is powered by a 2.0 TFSI engine, which produces 310 hp (228 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. As a standard the vehicle is also equipped with quattro all-wheel drive system, that makes is drive rapid and dynamic.

HG-Motorsport tuners saw no limitations and wanted to give more power to sports car. For this purpose they have developed an intake and exhaust package in order to maximize the performance of the TFSI.

Cool intake air in large quantities results also in better efficiency, so the factory airbox was replaced with carbon Intake with a Pipercross “DRY” filter and RF-Series intercooler.

In terms of exhaust, this Audi has been fitted with free-flow Bull-X EGO-X stainless steel exhaust system, which features a 3.5-inch downpipe, a 200-cell HJS race grade metal catalytic converter, and two exhaust valves. The last elements are controlled by the innovative Bull X-Tronic module.

If you ask about the result, well the dyno printout displayed significant increase in power: 336 hp (247 kW) and 427 Nm (315 lb-ft) of torque, which is an improvement of 26 hp and 47 Nm, respectively.

    Exterior

The exterior in general received a special three-color wrap that expresses the sporty nature of the TTS. At the back of the car we see carbon-coated twin tailpipes, while at its sides one can’t fails to see that the wheel arches are filled with a set of 9.5×20-inch, three-piece Schmidt FS-Line alloy wheels. They have been coupled with 245/30R20 Hankook S1 Evo tyres.

For lower ride height and improved control, the tuners added KW coil-over suspension kit, which in the future will have the option of an adjustable bounce and rebound control.

  • Sporty Audi TT Roadster and Audi TTS Roadster

    2014-Audi-TT-and-TTS-Roadster-t2014-Audi-TT-and-TTS-Roadster-651

Right on schedule for the Paris Motor Show, Audi has finished its work on the all new TT and TDS models. Both variants look very sporty and compact, though the changes to the power train options and design are almost non-existent, their design is noticeable sportier than the outgoing model, especially on S line models. All TT Roadsters now get new standard symmetrical dual-exhaust tips that differentiate them from the less sporty models.

The front end looks more aggressive, thanks to an enlarged grille, sharp headlights and unique design. Of course, all of these features are identical to the TT Coupe. The obvious change between the MK3 Coupe, which has just started being assembled a month ago, and its new rack top brother, they lack only roof. Audi has engineered a new convertible top that weighs three kilograms (8.6 lbs) lighter than before, using more magnesium, aluminum and plastic.Unlike many modern convertibles that require you to be stationary, the TT Roadster can open and close the top as little as 10 seconds at speeds about 50 km/h (31 mph).

Just like on older models, the passenger compartment has lost its relatively pointless rear seats. The upside is like that, because the top folds over the space they would normally take up. Cargo space is 250 liters.  However, Audi has recently introduced A3 Cabriolet mode, based on the same platform as the TT and offering full seating for four people.

The benefits of using MQB architecture are immediately obvious when you look at the weight. The TT 2.0 TFSI roadster now tips the scales at 1320 kg (2910 lbs), compared to the 1358 kg (2993 lbs)  of the older model.

    2014-Audi-TT-and-TTS-Roadster-651-(2)

With outstanding, Impressive performance and efficiency, the new TT Roadster is the smallest, lightest convertible Audi makes. With no surpise, this has a huge impact on both performance and fuel consumption. Engine choices have remained identical to the TT Coupe. Regular TT Roadsters are offered with either a 2 liter TDI delivering 184 PS, 280.3 lb-ft (379 Nm) or 2.0 TFSI rated at 230 PS. The new diesel option belongs to the new ultra family of low fuel consumption of just 4.3 liters/100 km  (54.7 US mpg) which reaches CO2 emissions of 114 gr per km.

The downside is that you can get it with a manual and front-wheel drive right now. The TFSI is basically the same engine you get on the Gulf “GB I”, but with the difference, Audi allows you to have it with optional Quattro all-wheel drive. There are no performance numbers for those engines yet, but the flagship TDS Roadster packing 310 PS need only 4.9 second to reach from 0 to 100 km/h (0 – 62 mph).

Prices for the TT Roadster will start at 37,900 euros for a 2.0 TSI with forward and manual, only a few hundred euros more if you want a diesel model. However full details wont be available until the start of 2015.

  • Audi S Competition Package for the TT Coupe

Audi-TT-S-Line-thumbYour regular Audi TT can now be one step closer to the gods (the gods being the TTS and the TT RS) with the special edition Audi TT Coupe S line competition. Quite a mouthful but it might just be what makes the difference between mediocrity and exclusivity.

On the outside, a TT S line can be recognized by it’s distinctive bumpers and air inlets and side sills. There are also S line badges, specially designed tailpipes and a rear diffuser. Even more downforce can be generated by the RS-style fixed rear wing. The colors in which the TT S line comes sound rather sophisticated and pompous – Samoa Orange, Glacier White and Misano Red (the one here) just to name a few. As a contrast high-gloss black frames the front grille while matte black is used for the license plate, the radiator grille. Again high-gloss black adorns the mirror caps, the blade bellow the front bumper, the diffuser insert, the tailpipe trims and the rear wing spoiler. And the 5-spoked, 19-inch wheels are, you guessed it, also black. The whole stance is lowered by 10 mm so the 255/35 tires look even more impressive.

Inside, you get special door sill trims, an extended aluminum look trim, a leather package (there’s Alcantra involved as well, sports seats and a short traveling gear lever for the manual version. Even the steering wheel has an RS feel to it with it’s flat bottom and it’s leathery trim.

The Audi TT Coupe S line competition special edition is now available on the global market and one has the freedom to throw in any other options and trim lines at free will. The S line package is priced at 4,300 Euros ($5,422) and is applicable to all the models until the 211 bhp TT.
