  • Senner Tuning Audi RS5 Coupe Produces 504 Horsepower

Senner-Tuning-Audi-RS5-Coupe-THUMBSenner Tuning Audi RS5 Coupe has a cowl which hides a classic booming V8-motor with a displacement of 4.2 litres and a 504 horsepower (370 kW). Which means an addition of 54 hp to the serial power. The updated maximum torque is 478 Nm (353 lb-ft). The tuners have also repainted the car and it now boasts “Daytona grey” paint finish. Furthermore, the RS5 got also a Bilstein B16 PSS10-coilover suspension in which the push and pull stage dampening can be adjusted separately.

In addition, the DRC- & RC function of the serial undercarriage was deactivated when the new one was installed. The restyled Audi RS5 runs on Competec C.01 three-part wheels in high-gloss black. The front has a 9.5×20 size with a bed of 2.5 inches and the rear a 10.5×20 size with a bed of 3.5 inches.

Then the wheels were covered with Continental Sport Contact 5P-tyres in the 255/30R20 and 295/25R20 for the front and rear, respectively. The exhaust has been treated by the in-house sports exhaust system with pre-muffler and backpressure-optimised flap control. There are three different modes available: travelling, sports and racing.

The serial chrome end pipe covers were added, and coupe’s body was also slightly modified and now includes signal yellow car body elements. Chrome edgings covered in glossy black film around the widows, while the side mirrors were painted in black. In black were desided also the grille, the rear spoiler and both Audi rings at the front and rear.

  • New Audi RS 4 Avant

Audi-RS4-Avant-thumbIt has been 3 years since the RS4 got off Audi’s production line but today we can indulge ourselves once again in the roar of a V8, shelled by a familiar body – It’s the new Audi RS4. The resurrection kicks off with an Avant version which is here to show it’s rivalries what’s what.

The RS4 is back with a bang as it gets the powertrain usually found in the RS5 Coupe – a hand-built 4.1 liter plant, producing 450 PS at 8,250 rpm and 430 Nm of torque from 4,000 to 6,000 rpm. In true RS tradition, that power goes trough a permanent Quattro AWD system. The ‘permanent’ term however, should not scare you off as the Quattro in the latest RS4 is exceptionally flexible – it incoroprates a self-locking crown-gear centre differential that allows up to 85 percent of the power to go to the rear axle or up to 70 towards the front wheels. By default, one would find that the power bias ratio is 40:60 in favor of the back wheels. So for the people who like to travel sideways everywhere that is a relief.

The whole power thing translates into a time of 4.7 seconds for the 0 to 60 mph sprint and a top speed of 174 mph (limited to 155 mph). Stunning performance, keeping in mind that this estate returns 25.7mpg on the combined cycle.

Compared to the standard A4, the RS4 is 20 mm lower thanks to the truly complex suspension – a five-link set-up at the front and a self-tracking trapezoidal-link rear assembly. We don’t know what all that means but chances are its beneficial. The power steering is clever too. It has a conscious mind that takes into account the current speed of the car to determine the steering firmness.

The car sits on 19-inch (20-inch optional) wheels wrapped in four 265/35-series tires. The 10-spoke design of the wheels are rather revealing and it’s not like the Audi hasn’t got anything to hide. We are talking about internally vented wave disc brakes – an innovation in stopping power as the brakes are around 3 kg lighter (in total weight) and more heat-efficient due to their “wave” outer, perforated contour.

Inside, black is the predominant finish with occasional carbon inlays and chrome clasps lining the switches and buttons. One would also find that the front sports seats are heated and that the driver information system has an RS menu with a lap timer.

There are tons of other optional extras that might be worthwhile ticking – the Dynamic Ride Control ensures even more stability at high speeds and sharp bends and a sports exhaust system for that kid in everyone of us.

Prices for the Audi RS4 are yet to be released and hopefully we’ll see the arrival of a sedan version so that everyone is happy. In the mean time do not hesitate to look around in the RS4 gallery.

  • Audi RS5 Coupe vs tuned Audi S5 Sportback

Another hard choice – Audi RS5 Coupe or tuned Audi S5 Sportback. Although the second car has two more doors, it is not less sporty, at all.

Firstly, Audi RS5 has a brutal 4.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 with 450PS (331 kW) at 6000RPM and 430Nm (317 lb-ft) at 4000RPM. The redline of the engine is all the way up to 8250RPM. It is mated to a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox, which sends the power to Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The performance – 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) with speed governor and 278 km/h (173 mph) with optional package.

The car stands on enormous 19” forged aluminum wheels with 265/35-series tires as standard. Customers can also upgrade to 20” wheels with 275/30-series tires as an option. Behind them, there are humongous ventilated wave brake discs – 365 millimeters up front with 8-piston calipers. However, you can order carbon fiber-ceramic discs up front as an option.

Audi RS5 also comes with complete aerodynamics package including sporty front bumper, a new rear bumper with diffuser and a pair of modified side skirts. There is also an interior sport package including leather seats, steering wheel and some elements and logos all over.

Audi RS5 Coupe is priced at €77 700, which is a lot, but it worth every single cent.

On the other hand, we have a nice S5 Sportback with a tuning package from Senner.

It is powered by a 3.0 liter turbocharged V6  with 333PS (245 kW) at 5500RPM and 440Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque at just 2900RPM. After some small modifications like air filter, sport exhaust system including an additional muffler and X-Pipe of stainless steel with the enlarged pipe diameter to 63.5 mm and 4 exhaust pipes of 90×70 mm, and of course an ECU re-map. The power has been increased to a hefty – 445PS (327 kW) and 530Nm (393 lb-ft).

Senner S5 Sportback also comes with Elegant TS-7 wheels in sizes 9.5J x 20” up front and 11J x 20” at the rear fitted with Conti Sport Contact 5P tires in dimensions 255/30 R20 and 295/25 R20, respectively.

The car is finished in black mettalic paint with bright borders, as well as moldings and racks for windows, including a fog-light frame in the same color.

The suspension received adjustable screw thread B16 PSS10 from Bilstein with the possibility of height, pull rate and pressure adjustment in “Senner-tuning”, which is responsible for the low suspension: about 40 mm on the front axle and 35 mm on the rear axle.

The total cost of the upgrades is €15 000 and the original S5 Sportback costs €57 900, so the combined price is “just” €72 900, which is almost 5 thousand less than RS5.

Again, it is very difficult to choose, whether you’ll have the brutal RS5 with its mighty V8 or the more “normal” tuned S5.
