Of course, the outstanding vinyl outfit has no power over the technology or the inherent strength of the Audi. In other words, the V10 is still producing 610 HP (449 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque at 6500 rpm. Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine helps the R8 V10 Plus accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds on its way to a maximum speed of 330 km/h.

Now back to the topic, this super sports car has been modified by the fostla.de experts under the close supervision of the Managing Director Darius Wallat. The striking color of the vinyl wrap is called Sunflower-Matt-Metallic. Note that the wrapping includes the entrances and the visible door edges, which is very tough task to do.

What is more, some of the carbon parts have been coated in a so-called “self-healing” vinyl. It has been delivered by XPEL and offers maximum protection from stone chipping for fast cars… at least for car’s fronts.

Well, you can’t help falling in love with this car, can you?

  • Forget the Teasers! 2016 Audi R8 is Finally Here!

It is finally here! Audi took the wraps off of its newest model named Audi R8. It will be debuting during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next week, promising to deliver a genuine definition of an evolutionary styling and driving capabilities. The overhauled second generation R8 is powered by an improved V10 5.2-liter FSI naturally aspirated power unit which offers 540 HP (397 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of maximum torque in the base model, and generates 610 HP (449 kW) with a peak torque of 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) in the V10 Plus variant.

When we talk about performance, the revamped Audi R8 needs exactly 3.5 seconds to sprint from standstill to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) before hitting a top speed of 200 mph (320 km/h). Thanks to the Plus mode, this run is covered in 3.2 seconds, thus hitting the 205 mph (330 km/h). The car consumes 11.8 liters per 100 km on average  (19.9 mpg US or 23.9 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 275 g/km.

The R8 V10 Plus consumes 12.4 liters per 100 km (18.9 mpg US or 22.7 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 289 g/km. Both engines are mated to a revised seven-speed S tronic gearbox. It has three automatic modes and manual control and transmits power to a permanent quattro all-wheel drive system fitted with a front electrohydraulic multi-plate clutch.

Arriving with a lighter aluminum body, the long-awaited 2016 Audi R8 is 4.42 meters long (14.5 ft), 1.24 meters high (4.1 ft) and has a relatively short a wheelbase measuring 2.65 meters (8.7 ft). With prominent proportions, the car exhibits sufficient amount of sportiness and characteristics suitable for a real race car. We can see a signelframe front grille, familiar flat LED headlights which can be replaced by optional laser lighting clusters with extended range of up to 600 meters.

Moving to the side profile, this high-performance sports car has curvy lines that continue to the wheels. The prominent shoulder line is formed like a “powerful muscle” and connects the wheels with one another, while dividing the side blades in two. This makes the car appear longer and lends it a more dynamic presence.

At the back, the LED taillights give the vehicle a more mature and serious outline. Also, there is a retractable rear spoiler. The Plus model impresses with a new wing made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The base model moves on 19-inch wheels with 245/35 front and 295/35 rear tires with 20-inch alloys with 245/30 & 305/30 tires available as an option.

In terms of the interior, when we step inside the Audi R8 it feels like we step inside Heaven. The cabin benefits from new bucket seats with stylish looks and a driver-focused cockpit. The latter features a configurable 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit which replaces the tons of buttons and knobs. Buyers are given the opportunity to select either Alcantara, pearl Nappa leather or fine Nappa leather upholsteries.

Set to go on sale this summer, the new Audi R8 has the starting price of €165,000 for the standard model and €187,400 for the Audi R8 V10 Plus.

  • Audi R8 GRAND-AM Returns At Watkins Glen Race

Audi-R8-GRAND-AM-THUMBAudi R8 GRAND-AM made a return yesterday at the 6 Hours at Watkins Glen race as part of the endurance championship. Two Audi motor-sport cars took part in the contest: the GRAND-AM and the new Fall-Line Motorsport.

The winning Audi R8 GRAND-AM that won the Daytona 24 Hours earlier this year was driven by Felipe Albuquerque (Portugal) – the same driver took the checkered flag at Daytona; Eduardo Mortara (France/Italy) and Dion von Moltke (South Afraica) piloted the number 24 car. The official results of the race, hasn’t been released yet, but we are impatiently looking forward to hearing some good news for the Audi team.

In fact, Fall-Line Motorsports number 46 R8 GRAND-AM in the B+ (Be Positive) livery made its debut at the event. The successful team brought great enthusiasm to the event. The piloting-trio Al Carter, Charles Espenlaub, and Charlie Putman has worked together for several years and has won many races including Fall-Line’s team and drivers’ 2010 Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge Series championship with Espenlaub and Putman.

Audi R8 GRAND-AM differentiates approximately by 50 percent of the R8 production car in terms of parts and equipment. For instance, the 5.2 Liter V10 naturally aspirated engine is fitted to the race-car, and was previously tested for maximum durability on the track.

In addition, the new Audi R8 production car has been also enhanced and now is offered as V10 Plus model which is capable of delivering 550 horsepower (405 kW). The model has an acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. The engine is matched with a new in-house developed seven-speed double clutch S tronic transmission that is exclusively utilized in the R8.

However, the six-speed manual gated shifting transmission is still available on all models as well as the new full-LED lighting design. New cross-stitched leather seats and door inserts finish the improvements on the interior of the 2014 R8 production car.

  • Audi R8 V10 Plus – Best of the Best

Audi-R8-V10-Plus-thumbGood news. Audi are refreshing their R8 range and are also adding a version which from now on will be the scoreboard leader. It’s the Audi R8 V10 Plus with a new deliciously clever 7-speed S tronic gearbox.

Let’s first talk about all the changes that have been made to the range. A new front bumper that underlines the innovations in the headlight department. By innovations we mean an extensive use of LED technology. Besides the daytime running lights, diodes emit the high and low beams. Optionally a carbon fiber reinforced plastic front splitter can be installed for that extra something. At the back the diffuser has been restyled alongside the R logo.

Under the engine cover, the choice of engines pretty much remains the same. There seems to be however, a bit of a jolt when it comes to power. The 4.2 FSI engine that goes in the Coupe and Spyder V8 models now produces 430 hp and just as much Nm of torque between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm. The 5.2 FSI V10 version of these cars stands now at 525 hp and 530 Nm. All seems very proportional. The highlight here however is the acceleration. Provided that the cars are with the new 7-speed S tronic, the 4.2 Coupe will cross the 62 mph mark in 4.3 seconds, the 4.2 Spyder – 4.5 seconds. The 5.2 Coupe and Spyder (again with the new gearbox) will do that in 3.8 and 4.1 seconds.

The real highlight however is the now fastest R8 of them all. Despite being called the Plus, it’s not a plus size lady. In fact, because of the lightweight bucket seats and wheels and ceramic brakes and the scarce use of insulation, the Audi R8 V10 Plus – which is strictly a Coupe – weighs only 1,570 kg. Ten kilograms more than the 4.2 V8 Coupe. Consider the freshly squeezed 550 hp from the 5.2-liter V10 and also the 540 Nm that come along, and you have yourself a super car that can reach 60 mph from a stand still in just 3.5 seconds (S tronic again). Being a quattro, there should be no remarks on the handling whatsoever (no more than 30% of the torque goes to the front wheels so you get some tail-happy action as well).

On the outside, one can recognize an Audi R8 V10 Plus by the black exhaust tips, front splitter, funnier looking air vents, the rear diffuser and mirror caps. It’s 19-inch black gloss wheels with widths of 8.5 and 11 inches are subsequently coated in 235/35 and 295/30 tires respectively.
