  • The Most Outlandish Concept Vehicles Presented as Part of the Geneva International Motor Show

2019-Aston-Martin-Lagonda-910Over the years, the Geneva International Motor Show has built itself something of a reputation. It can showcase extraordinary feats of car manufacturing as if from companies like Romans International, or feature surprising concept vehicles that would never be made commercially available. With 2019’s iteration of the event in full swing, car enthusiasts are embroiled in all the excitement.

However, it’d be an understatement to say that the auto industry is struggling lately in the UK due to an onslaught of political and economic influences. In light of this, these showcases are highly important to the motor industry; they rejuvenate interest in the sector and innovate cars to be more efficient as time goes by.

Consequently, here’re some of the most outlandish concept vehicles presented as part of the Geneva International Motor Show.

    Citroen Ami One

A two-seater wonder, the Citroen Ami One is bizarre to behold. It’s reportedly less than 1.5m wide, weighs less than 450kh in total and has a top speed of a very modest 28mph. Apparently, these factors mean that the car could be driven without a driving licence in some countries. What could be more outlandish than this? Still, it’s good for those who want to get around without traveling far or on hectic motorways.

Because of its very small stature and modest capabilities, the car is very affordably built and theoretically easy to run too. It certainly fits the radical nature of a concept vehicle, due to its cheap costs in development and maintenance work. The driver’s door is rear hinged, and the internal components are kept to a minimum. Ultimately, the Citroen Ami One is what some would call a nifty city car, and others, a strange proposition!

    Ferrari Modulo

It’s not all about boxy vehicles; concept sports cars feature at the motor shows too! The Ferrari Modulo featured at the Geneva International Motor Show almost 50 years ago in 1970. Its bodywork was verging on being completely flat, with partly covered wheels also adding to that feeling of a low bearing (and irritating to turn) vehicle. There certainly was nothing like it, nor has there been anything that’s akin to this brand of incredulity for years.

The Ferrari Modulo can steadily climb to top speeds of 220mph, doing 0-60 of that in 3.1 seconds alone. For all intents and purposes, this car mostly won favour for its aesthetical value; the terms ‘futuristic’ and ‘spaceship’ weren’t lost at all on observers. In the end, the Ferrari Modulo was always cooler to look at than really serving up as a practical concept supercar.

    Aston Martin Lagonda All-Terrain Concept

Time now to return to the present, and another concept car that’s in store at the 2019 iteration of the Geneva International Motor Show; the Aston Martin Lagonda All-Terrain Concept. Of course, Aston Martin are more renowned for their work with slim, ultra-expensive James Bond-like supercars; so why are they presenting an all-terrain SUV concept vehicle this year?

It’s not just all-terrain, but all-electric too; this shade of amazement has its batteries tucked safely away in the flooring of the concept vehicle. Rear hinged doors once again feature, alongside bizarre features like the inventive front seats. These can reportedly be rotated to face the passengers in the back, which while useful on an indoor-car picnic, probably won’t see much use beyond a concept showcase. The car is hoped to go into production in 2022.

  • Aston Martin is about to unveil new Lagonda All Terrain Concept machine

2019 Aston Martin Lagonda Aston Martin team is determined to dominate the 89th Geneva International Motor Show by presenting the Lagonda All-Terrain Concept vehicle. By following the success of the first Lagonda zero emission, this new project will incorporate all that we loved about the predecessor model and add some new goodies.

All-Terrain Concept also takes advantage of its zero-emission platform and will showcase revised exterior style and advanced drivetrain technologies. As we would expect from an Aston Martin machine, right?

Along with Lagonda All-Terrain Concept, Aston Martin will also showcase three core models: Vantage, DB11 and DBS Superleggera. Two of these are created by brand’s bespoke personalization service, Q by Aston Martin. Just as the case with Inspiration – covered by Q by Aston Martin’s exclusive searing “Cosmos Orange”, the machine comes with wide range of interior and exterior inserts, changes and tweaks.

And as we talk about this exclusive service, we must mention the revised DBS Superleggera that has undergone a special revision from the Q division. Covered with “Numinous Pearl”, the machine will meet Geneva Motor Show audience with tinted carbon body pack, satin black and satin bronze 21-inch forged Y-spoke wheels and smoked tail lamps. The inside of the vehicle welcomes everyone within Triaxial Weave carbon fiber, Black Metallic and Bitter Chocolate Aniline Leather upholstery that altogether create luxurious ambience that even the most demanding customers and passengers would enjoy.

  • Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf Officially Unveiled in Dubai

Aston-Martin-Lagonda-Taraf-THUMBAston Martin Lagonda Taraf is currently being launched in Dubai, but don’t worry because Aston Martin is planning to release it outside the Middle East market. The super saloon is one of the finest of fast cars. It is based on company’s flexible VH architecture and is inspired by the highly sought-after William Towns-designed Lagonda of 1976. In addition, it includes wide range of the same cutting edge engineering techniques seen in modern Aston Martin sports. An instance is the use of carbon fibre body panels.

Of course, the car has been hand-built by the finest craftsmen and women at company’s manufacturing facilities in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Right there was the production of the One-77 hypercar. Just like its exclusive siblings, like the V12 Zagato and CC100 Speedster Concept, Lagonda has been created as a piece of automotive art.

Unfortunately, this is the entire information which we have received from Aston Martin. However, we suspect that the car is likely driven by a refined V12 6.0-liter engine, which produces more than 565 hp (415 kW) and mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This means that we should expect a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time in 4 seconds or less and a top speed around 200 mph.

Aston Martin Lagonda super saloon was revealed in October. This was the time when the British company released the first officia images of the car. With this super saloon, the luxury brand is trying to revive the historic Lagonda nameplate.

Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf will be offered for sale by invitation only. Up until now there are no details revealed about the exact pricing.

  • Aston Martin Reveals the Lagonda Super Saloon

Aston-Martin-Lagonda-THUMBThe production of the Aston Martin Lagonda super saloon was announced at the end of July, and since then we haven’t heard anything about the vehicle. Now the British company is releasing first images of the production car version of the new Lagonda. Except for those ten images which you can view below, Aston Martin didn’t release any further details about the car. What we know however is that it will be built in strictly limited numbers and its production will begin in 2015.

With this super saloon, the luxury brand is trying to revive the historic Lagonda nameplate. And in fact, the Lagonda badge will be positioned on the ultimately luxurious and exclusive model, which means that what we see now sits at the top of Aston Martin’s range.

Furthermore, the Lagonda will be built on the flexible VH architecture. As you can see from the picture above, the new model also draws inspiration from the highly sought-after William Towns-designed 1976 Lagonda. The saloon is hand-built and crafted and features a lot of carbon-fiber components.

This is a return for the Lagonda nameplate which comes after the revival of other Aston Martin’s projects, which include the One-77 hypercar, V12 Zagato and last year’s CC100 Speedster Concept. Just like its exclusive siblings, Lagonda has been created as a piece of automotive piece art.

Lagonda will be offered for sale by invitation only, and will be sold in the Middle East only. There are no details disclosed about the exact pricing.
