  • Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Beautified by SR Auto Group

SR Auto Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Side ViewThe New Prince is the nick name of this Mercedes-Benz AMG GT tuned by the specialists at the Canadian studio SR Auto Group. The car looks amazing even without modifications, but in sake of individuality this car has received some minor updates. And we do not want to see more, since this AMG GT has it all.

Considered the “angrier and younger brother” of the Mercedes-Benz SLS, the AMG GT was one of the most awaited and definitely satisfying introductions this year. The car features many benefits, but it is the most impressive in its performance figures and engine capabilities.

Speaking of which, the production variant of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT comes equipped with the newly-developed AMG 4.0-litre V8 engine connected to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission. In this configuration, the car is capable of producing 462 hp (340 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. The production AMG GT also reaches a top speed of 304 kmph and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. When going 0-200 kmph the car needs 11.5 seconds.

The main focus of the tuning team therefore was on suspension and wheels, since they decided that the Mercedes got everything that it needs in terms of power and felt the body itself was styled perfectly from the factory.

The first thing was to add new suspension parameters. This has happened with the help of directly from H&R, which made sure that the Mercedes receive a new set of lowering springs. From there on, the specialists fitted the car with a set of double staggered two piece PUR 4OUR.M2 alloys.

They come in a special finish called Matte Anthracite but also have a gloss black inner barrel and monaco gold hardware. If you wonder about their size, well it is 9×20-inch at the front and 12×21-inch at the rear. Simple things make everything more stylish and beautiful, don’t they?

  • Posaidon with Two More Powerful Mercedes-AMGs

2015 Posaidon Mercedes-AMG GT Front and Side ViewPosaidon has just released not one but two incredible tunings of Mercedes C63 AMG and AMG GT models. There is one common thing about those two and it is that they are powered by the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The difference is in the nature of their lubrication. Precisely, the AMG GT has dry sump lubrication, while the other car utilizes a conventional wet sump system. Well, there is another thing in common and this is the direct re-programming delivered by Posaidon.

The standard output of the two-seater is 462 hp (340 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, while its more powerful S version produces 510 hp (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft). After the conversion, both cars are capable of 630 hp (463 kW) and 725 Nm (535 lb-ft) of torque and a 337 km/h top speed.

In addition, the standard numbers of the C63 AMG are as follow: 476 hp (350 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) and 510 hp (375 kW) and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) in the S form. After the ECU, they were changed to 610 hp (449 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The top speed here is positioned at 328km/h.

The engine of the C-Class is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission, while this of the AMG GT to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual-clutch transmission, which explains why the torque of the latter car is lower.

Furthermore, Posaidon engineers are currently working on additional updates for the M177 and M178 engines. For their improvement they will use new turbochargers, free-flow exhaust systems and other hardware changes. At last, for additional safety, the tuners offer speed camera warning system which is integrated within the factory navigation system.

  • Mercedes-AMG GT Outruns Your Dream Car [VIDEO]

Shots are fired and a new rivalry between two automotive giants seems to be on the verge of exploding! In a recently introduced video, the new Mercedes-AMG GT overtakes Porsche 911, thus breaking children’s visions of a dream car.

The TV commercial, which is titled “Mercedes-AMG GT ‘Dreamcar,’” carries a certain tone of subtlety because the German car demonstrates its supremacy and powerful stance by mocking the Porsche. In the ad we can see a young boy who is having a dream about the Porsche 911 which appears as a blurred silhouette. Not too long after this, there approaches the GT with an obvious determination and motivation. Driving too closely behind the other car, the Mercedes is somewhat metaphorically poking the Porsche while reminding it of the GT’s supreme power. And then with a fuming energy it disappears.

Just as a reminder, the car in yellow is powered by a handbuilt AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine which produces 462 PS (339 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. Such figures are enough to enable the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, reaching a tops speed of 193 mph. Lastly, the power unit is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with electronically controlled limited slip differential.

Nevertheless, the question is: is the new AMG GT really built to outrun an automotive king like the 911?

  • Mercedes-AMG GT Tweaked by German Special Customs

The guys from German Special Customs (GSC) are famous for their exclusively good-looking styling programs which always know how to complement the nature of a given model. This time around they surprise us with the first renderings of the special package for the Mercedes-AMG GT. And we have to admit that it looks devastatingly awesome!

After the professional touch of the tuner, the new AMG GT bodylook embodies even more strongly underlined sporty character. And because this was not enough, there is a feel of haughty aggression that comes as a bonus! I doubt that there is a person on this planet who would say no to this.

Back to the main point now. If we cut the Mercedes-AMG GT into separate pieces, just to get the idea what exactly the car features, we will see that GSC was more than generous when working on the improvements of this sportiness on four wheels. The full body kit is comprised of reworked bumpers with a large carbon fiber front spoiler, modified side skirts with a chunkier look and a massive GT3-style rear wing. We can also see that the pack of little and not so little tweaks includes carbon roof and mirror caps and refined headlights. The black wheels with yellow lips complete the refinements of the GT.

However, German Special Customs hasn’t proposed anything yet in terms of performance. What we know for sure is that the AMG GT is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine which is capable of developing 462 PS (339 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. The Mercedes-AMG GT S, then, generates 510 PS (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque.

  • Mercedes-AMG GT: A Perfect Combination of Sportiness, Style and Everyday Life

    2015-Mercedes-AMG-GT-t2015-Mercedes-AMG-GT-651

The more you look at this car, the more you like it. Mercedes-AMG GT combines the pure sport race feeling with the everyday feeling of a car. Full LED headlights and 18 rear lights give the car a mean look. The turning signal is showing its direction by a running signal in the direction its turned on. I like the single blade that cuts into the middle of the grill and the awesome AMG badge. We also have the A-Wing concept on the spoiler and in the front. Glossy black comes with the color of the GT as well as for the GTS. The car looks amazing in every available color.

With a brand new V.8 bi-turbo engine developed specifically for the GT is being placed very low in the car. To reduce the height it has been put a turbocharger. This helps to achieve a very low car and a low hood and at the same time to have big engine. A spoiler on the rear that moves up and down if you push a button inside the cabin or the car moves fast enough. The GT traditionally goes with a 19-inch alloy wheels both in the front and at the rear with 255/35 R 19 and 295/35 R 19 tyres. While the GTS is provided with 19-inch in the front side with 265/35 R 19 tyres and 20-inch in the rear with 295/30 R 20 tyres. As an available option, you can order high-performance carbon ceramic brakes.

Numerous, usual safety assistance system are equipped such as: Collision prevention assist plus, adaptive break and attention assist. There are additional extras available, some of which include: Adaptive Highbeam Assist, PRE-SAFE® system, PARKTRONIC, Reversing camera, Lane Tracking package including Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Sign Assist (included in COMAND Online).

Looked from the side, the AMG looks a little bit like the SLS. However it has a longer hood and its trunk is a lot smaller.

    2015-Mercedes-AMG-GT-651-(2)

In the interior we notice a sophisticated instrument cluster with a 360 km/h (223 mph) speedometer with a black “nappa” leather coated steering wheel. The AMG emblem is embedded in the center of the big V shaped armrest with 8 buttons on it (which reminds us of the V.8). An exciting new feature is a glass roof opens up above. The cabin feels a little tight along with the long hood, reminding of the SLS model. Four air vans are positioned  before the armrest which gives the interior a unique sporty look. The seats are sporty themed as well, but in the same time they are extremely comfortable. Also the new GT comes with a bonus sound system

GTS has 375 kW (510 hp) at at 6250 rpm with a max. torque of 650 Nm (479 lb.-ft.) at 1750-4750 rpm. Combined fuel consumption is 9.4 l/100 km (30 mpg UK) with 219 g CO2 emissions per km, This amazing ride accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 s with the breathtaking top speed of 310 km/h (192 mph).

On the other side, we have the GT model. This one is a little bit slower. Although slower it doesn’t mean it is less important than the GTS. The Mercedes- AMG GT rounds up 340 kW (462 hp)at 6000 rpm with max. torque of 600 Nm (442 kW) at 1600-5000 rpm. Combined fuel consumption is 9.3 l/100 km (30 mpg) UK. This model releases up to 216 g/km of CO2 emissions. As far as for the acceleration, it reaches 0-100 km/p (62 mph) in 4.0 s with top speed of 304 km/h (188 mph).

Pricing will be available around the 6th of October, even though it will hit the market in Spring 2015. Additional details will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.

  • Mercedes-Benz AMG GT – V8 4.0 liter Twin-turbo Engine [video]

Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled full details about the engine, which is going to power the upcoming AMG GT model. The sports coupe will have a newly developed power unit with codename M178.

    The M178 is a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 510HP (375 kW) at 6,250RPM and 650Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque at just 1,750RPM. It meets the EURO 6 regulations and has a dry weight of 209 kg (460 lbs).

The engine benefits from ultra-lightweight pistons and twin overhead camshafts. There are also flow-optimized cylinder heads with zirconium alloy for optimal temperature and thermal conductivity. The cylinder walls have been lined with a nano-slide coating in order to decrease friction. Because of that, there is no need for a conventional oil pan and a dry sump lubrication technology is used.

The same engine will power the upcoming C63 AMG models – sedan, estate, coupe and cabriolet. However, it is scheduled firstly on the AMG GT, which is set to be unveiled this fall.

The manufacturer teased the interior of the all-new upcoming model. The dashboard is wide and creates impression of a powerful wing. This design treatment is supported by the four central spotlight-style vents and the individual vents at the left and right ends of the dashboard.

2015 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT will hit the market in March 2015.

  • Mercedes-Benz Teases New AMG GT

Mercedes-Benz-AMG-GT-THUMBMercedes-Benz AMG GT sports car is to thrill us this autumn when it is set to make its world premiere. The brand new vehicle will feature breath-taking design and supreme agility –qualities typacially found on the AMG GT. Furthermore, form Mercedes-Benz announced that the car is destined for a new segment. We don’t have any visuals of the exterior yet, but the company has released two images of the exclusive interior, which is adorned by red and black leather, carbon fiber and a range of new technologies.

The designers have put mainly their attention on the driving dynamics, agility and sportiness of the car. In fact, the new GT is the second sports car developed fully independently by Mercedes-AMG.

The sneak preview of the interior provides a good impression of what we are to expect. Inside, car’s design embodies emotion and sensuality. The uncompromising lines of the interior components define the concept of “modern luxury”.

The biggest impression however, makes the stylistic development of the central “aviation design” theme. The dashboard is wide and creates impression of a powerful wing. This design treatment is supported by the four central spotlight-style vents and the individual vents at the left and right ends of the dashboard.

The dominant centre console has a shape reminiscent of a NACA air intake and the employed materials suggest that it has been adopted directly from motor racing. The controls on the AMG DRIVE UNIT are arranged like eight cylinders in a V layout. All in all, the finest materials and outstanding workmanship contribute to the typical Mercedes luxury.
