The new Alfa Romeo Giulietta is already on sale and offers refined exterior style, improved drivetrain specifications, tons of cutting-edge technology and of course, that one of a kind Alfa Romeo feel and appearance. So, let’s see what this sweetie offer to the fans and buyers.
Exterior styling
The restyled front-end styling features a new honeycomb grille, piano black bumper inserts and redesigned headlamp surrounds. Furthermore, the look is enhanced by new distinctive alloys, revised tail pipes and the two new colors: Alfa White and Lipari Grey.
Interior refreshment
The cabin includes new and more comfortable seats, new upholsteries and dashboard. There is also an improved version of the trip computer with better display and Uconnect infotainment system with LIVE services.
Drivetrain system
The new and agile Alfa hides under the bonnet a 120hp (88kW) 1.6-liter JTDM 2turbo diesel unit, mated to an ALFA TCT twin dry-clutch gearbox. And benefitting from a second-gen MultiJet technology with variable turbo-charger, the system produces a total of 320Nm of torque from just 1,745rpm.
Alfa Romeo MiTo and Giulietta ranges have received some upgrades and additional features. The new Collezione upgrade is available for both models, while the Sprint Speciale is available exclusively for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta range.
Collezione versions are the luxury flagships of the whole range and offer even more enhanced features, along with some drivetrain tweaks. For example, MiTo Collezione will include 17-inch alloy wheels an satin-effect headlight and tail light surrounds. There will also be a special NAV infotainment system and DAB radio.
These goodies can be further paired either with the 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo 105-hp (77 kW) or 1.4-Liter Turbo Petrol unit that produces a total of 140 hp (102 kW). Both engine systems will be maeto do Alfa Romeo’s six-speed ALFA TCT twin-clutch transmission and improved Brembo brakes. How cool is that?
Furthermore, Alfa Romeo Giulietta Collezione stands out from the crowd thanks to the glossy black painted roof and unique rear parking sensors. The inside of the vehicle is trimmed with special Collezione leather with heated front seats.
But along all these luxurious models, Alfa Romeo team also proudly presents the Giulietta Sprint Speciale. This special model is based on the Sprint model and is generally high-performance focused. It is geared with sporty suspension, 17-inch sports alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, aluminum pedal and special Quadrifoglio-styled seats. And of course, the vehicle offers dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensor and special silver dashboard trim.
The Sprint Speciale includes a 1.4-TB MultiAir 150hp (110 kW) or 2.0 JTDM-2 250 hp units, six speed ALFA TCT gearbox with paddle shifters.
2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint is an edition which is created with the aim to celebrate a key moment in Alfa Romeo’s heritage. Precisely, it is the 60th anniversary of the launch of the original and first 1954 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint. This was a car that achieved great success, looked stunningly beautiful and was relatively affordable. Back then, the vehicle was a result of company’s transition from a low-volume manufacturer to that of a successful “premium” car brand.
The new and the original Giulietta Sprint share many similar characteristics. For instance, the new version is also powered by an engine of less than 1,400cc in capacity. The difference here is that for the 2014 model year the unit was equipped with MultiAir valve management and an intercooled turbocharger.
These additions improve car’s power output to more than twice that of the original Sprint’s 1.3-litre twin-cam engine. To be more precise, the 1.4-litre TB MultiAir petrol engine generates 150 hp (110 kW) and 250 Nm (185 lb-ft) of torque.
The result is an acceleration time of 8.2 seconds for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. The top speed is positioned at 130 mph, while the fuel efficiency figures speak of 49.6 mpg (in the combined cycle). The CO2 emissions are estimated at just 131g/km.
To control these 150 hp, the 2014 Giulietta Sprint is equipped with 17-inch, five-hole design alloy wheels fitted with 225/45 R17 rubbers. As an anniversary edition, the car also gets some exclusive features. Such are the special badging on the front wings, sports rear bumper side skirts, sports rear diffuser with oversized exhaust trim and dark-tinted windows.
Inside, the designers added carbon-effect door panels and dashboard surround, new sports, leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching and new seats with cloth and Alcantara-upholstery, red stitching and “Sprint” logo embroidered into the headrests.
2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint will be available in the first months of next year. For the United Kingdom it will have a starting price of £20,490.

Alfa Romeo introduced MiTo and Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde models at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Now, both vehicles are set to make a debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the end of June. In fact, the Giulietta is celebrating its 60th anniversary with this new QV version. The car is the perfect example of the brand’s DNA. It is driven by the 1750 Turbo Petrol engine, which produces 240 hp (276 kW). The unit is coupled with a six-speed, twin dry clutch ALFA TCT transmission that contributes to the achievement of 6 seconds acceleration time for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. The top speed is electronically limited to 149mph.
The exterior of the car is distinguished by its lowered sports suspension and the legendary Quadrifoglio Verde emblem on the front wings. In addition, the car features dark-tinted rear window glass and the Anthracite finish on the mirror fairings, front grille, door handles and fog-light frames. At the back, there are two large exhaust tailpipes. Giulietta QV runs on 18-inch alloy wheels behind which one can see red four-piston Brembo brake callipers and large 320mm brake discs.
The ultimate expression of Italian style can be seen throughout the interior of the car. First of all, the designers added new wraparound sport seats, with a one-piece backrest and trimmed in leather and Alcantara. There is a brand new steering wheel, trimmed in leather and accentuated by contrasting white stitching. Aluminium sports pedals, darkened interior headlining, special floor mats and a leather-trimmed gear lever and parking brake lever round-out the interior.
Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde also includes 6.5-inch Uconnect touch-screen multimedia system. It comes with integrated satellite navigation with 3D bird’s-eye view maps, progressive route guidance and ‘One-Step Voice Entry Destination’ function. The system also features DAB digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity with music streaming, Aux-in/USB port and voice command operation.
The other model which is carrying the Quadrifoglio Verde emblem is the Alfa Romeo MiTo. The car is powered by 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo Petrol engine, which works in combination with the ALFA TCT transmission with steering-wheel paddle shifters. The unit produces 170 hp (125 kW) and up to 184lb/ft (250 Nm). ALFA TCT achieves 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time in 7.3 seconds. The top speed is limited to 136mph.
The new MiTo is also getting a new matte Magnesio Grey exterior body colour. It features enhanced styling attributes such as a burnished finish on exterior elements and the 18-inch alloy wheels, plus a rear spoiler, sports rear bumper and twin exhaust pipes. The interior is also revised. It includes new flat-bottom sports steering wheel and the new Uconnect five-inch touchscreen multimedia system with DAB and satellite navigation. And this comes as a standard.
The interior is also highlighted by the new flat-bottomed sports steering wheel, trimmed in leather with contrasting white stitching (just like Giulietta QV), and including paddle-shifters for the ALFA TCT transmission, as well as the new instruments with integrated Quadrifoglio Verde logo. The sports seats are trimmed in specific Quadrifoglio Verde fabric and finished with white-and-green stitching.
2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta debuted back in September last year at the auto show in Frankfurt, Germany, but little did we know back then that this year the model is actually celebrating its 60th anniversary. 19th of April 1954 was an iconic date in Alfa Romeo’s history because at the 36th Turin Motor Show the legendary Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint was revealed to the eyes of world for the first time. By the end of the exhibition more than 700 orders had been taken.
In order to celebrate this success and the special anniversary, the company is entering on the market the Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.4 TB Progression that is capable of generating 120 horsepower (88 kW). This special edition can be painted with a Special Lunar Pearl finish, which is the new color included in company’s range.
The range of Alfa Romeo Giulietta models has been extensively revised for this year and now feature more technology, including standard Uconnect touch-screen infotainment systems, new engines, redesigned seats and seat’s fabrics and leather upholsteries, new colors and improved standard specifications.
At the top of the range stands the Giulietta equipped with the new 2.0 liter JTDM 2 engine. The latter develops 150 horsepower (110 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, and is equipped with the second-generation MultiJet injection system. This system enhances unit’s combustion in all operating conditions, thus delivering better fuel economy.
Alfa Romeo has introduced the 2014 Giulietta Facelift, which will be exhibited at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The model is expected to hit the market next month.
The styling changes include redesigned front grille, different fog lights with chrome-plated frame and new 16”, 17” and 18” alloy wheels fitted with proper tires. The color range now includes Bronze, Anodizzato Blue and Moonlight Pearl, while the interior gets an Uconnect infotainment system with a 5” or 6.5” touchscreen display/
Other highlights include new storage and luggage compartments, new trim for the seats and door panels as well as the handles and dashboard, along with new steering wheel designs.
The 2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta will be available with the new 2.0 liter JTDM 2 engine – 150 HP (110 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. It is equipped with the second-generation MultiJet injection system that both optimises engine combustion in all operating conditions and ensures reduction in fuel consumption and noise at the same time.
After it has been announced a week ago that Alfa Romeo is entering on the market Limited Editions from the Giulietta range, it is time now to announce that the first of the models is making its debut. We are speaking here about the Alfa Romeo Giulietta FF6 Limited Edition. This particular model, as well as the others to come, is especially built in order to celebrate the launch of the action movie Fast & Furious 6.
Of course, to match the number of the movie, there will be just six Alfa Romeo Giulietta FF6 Limited Editions. To be more precise, the FF6 modification is equipped with 1.4 TB MultiAir 170 hp (125 kW) through which it shows its involvement in the high speed perfectly.
In addition, this vehicle will include a Fast & Furious numbered plaque, corresponding to each film in the franchise and feature also dashboards specially signed by the all-star cast. This particular model comes in Alfa Red exterior color, and is equipped with 17” Titanium finish alloy wheels, titanium effect wing mirrors and darkened headlight surrounds and chrome door handles.
The interior of the car includes black and red cloth upholstery. This is a distinctive fabric with contrasting stitching and in addition inside the coupe there are also featured titanium finish inserts on the door inserts, central console and dashboard. For driver comfort and air conditioning and Blue&Me come as standard.
Unfortunately, any of the models won’t be available worldwide, but only offered exclusively through Motor Village Marylebone in London. So if you are a big fan of the film and of the Italian brand, and of course can afford the shipping, then it won’t be a problem for you. The starting price of Alfa Romeo Giulietta FF6 Limited Edition is £25 675.
Alfa Romeo has announced a new special series Collezione range in its Giulietta line-up. The Collezione features a distinctive contrast roof as standard – unique in the class – together with premium body styling, elegant interior touches, dynamic powerplants and upgraded specification.
2013 Alfa Romeo GiuliettaCollezione Limited Edition is available in three nice colours: Solid Black, Alfa Red and Ghiaccio White. Completing the dynamic look are 17” Titanium finish alloy wheels, titanium effect wing mirrors and darkened headlight surrounds and chrome door handles.
The interior features new black and red competizione cloth upholstery – a distinctive fabric with contrasting stitching and titanium finish inserts on the door inserts, central console and dashboard. For driver comfort and air conditioning and Blue&Me come as standard on the Collezione.
The engine range includes four power units – a 1.4 liter TB with 120HP (88 kW), a 1.4 liter TB MultiAir with 170HP (125 kW) and two diesel variants – 1.6 liter JTDM-2 with 105HP (77 kW) and 2.0 liter JTDM-2 with 140HP (103 kW). Emissions are from just 114g/km CO2 and fuel economy is up to 64.2mpg on a combined cycle.
The Limited Edition Collezione range is priced from just £18,265.
Alfa Romeo has presented their innovative D.N.A. system, which features an All-Weather driving mode for tackling some of the most wintery road conditions.
The intelligent Vehicle Dynamic Control is fitted on both Alfa MiTo and Giuliettaranges with drivers able to select from ‘D’ (Dynamic), ‘N’ (Natural) and ‘A’ (All-Weather) driving modes at the simple touch of a switch.
In AW (All-Weather) mode, the ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) system monitors tyre grip and the car’s yaw and the steering angle. Whenever is required, the system decreases the throttle opening and applies the brakes to individual wheels to maintain stability. It works the same way as BMW’s DSC (Dynamic Stability Control).
The VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) system becomes more intrusive, ideal for situations where wheels are on both snow and tarmac, a Mµ-Split control function enables the car to find traction and control simultaneously on two completely different road conditions. This all works in conjunction with the DST (Dynamic Steering Torque) feature that provides steering torque movements to prompt natural correction of oversteer. Finally, Hydraulic Brake Assistance also increases braking pressure, therefore reducing braking distances in an emergency.
“Innovations such as the Alfa D.N.A. system help make Alfa Giulietta one of the safest models in its class with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating including an 86% score in the Safety Assist category. We think it’s a great choice all year round, but it’s also the smart choice in these tough winter months when drivers rely more on their vehicle’s technology to keep them safe and in control.”, commented Damien Dally, Head of Brand, Alfa Romeo UK.
Alfa Romeo UK has announced the full specs and price list for the 2012 Giulietta TCT.
The Alfa Giulietta is a 5-door hatchback offering cheap and stylish ride. The car is the safest car in its class. It also features award winning MultiAir engine technology, five star Euro-NCAP safety ratings, Alfa Romeo’s unique D.N.A system, and now, in 2012, the technologically advanced ALFA TCT semi-automatic transmission becomes available in the Giulietta range. 2012 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCT starts at £21 855 OTR.
There are two trim levels – Lusso or Veloce, and two engines: 1.4 TB MultiAir 170HP and 2.0 JTDM-2 170HP diesel.
The TCT transmission offers sporty driving pleasure and reduces the fuel consumption a lot. The transmission works in either all-automatic or sequential mode, as required by the driver. The user can manually manage the up and down position of the accurate, ergonomic shifter, with which steering wheel shift paddles may be combined. In addition, the driver can customise the car’s dynamics using the Alfa D.N.A. driving selector to enhance its features of comfort, performance, safety and efficiency.
The 1.4 liter TB MultiAir engine has 170HP enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 184 km/h (135 mph). The fuel consumption is great – 54.3 mpg UK with 121 g/km CO2.
The 2.0 liter JTDM-2 diesel with 170HP is slightly slower – 7.9 seconds to 100 km/h, but the fuel consumption is better – 62.8 mpg UK with 119 g/km CO2.
Alfa TCT uses dry clutches allowing, in addition to other advantages, natural integration with Start&Stop, a function which is not always available with traditional automatic transmissions, and which guarantees a further benefit in terms of fuel consumption, particularly around town.
Lastly, a Wet automatic transmission requires approximately 4.8 litres more gearbox oil than a Dry version, again for reasons of clutch cooling. In this way, weight is added and losses are incurred due to an increase in splashing caused by the gears. When all these effects are combined, a Dry transmission, like the Alfa TCT, is found to be approximately 6% more efficient than the corresponding Wet one in terms of consumption.

Alfa Romeo might not have much cars to show on the 2012 Geneva Auto Show (they have only two production vehicles at the moment) but they are betting on technology and choice. There will be four Giulietta models and three Mitto cars taking the stand. Some of them will feature the Fiat group 0.9 TwinAir Turbo “International engine of the year 2011”, many will be coupled with the Alfa TCT (double clutched transmission) and will also feature Distinctive and Quadrifoglio Verde trim levels.
Alfa Giulietta
Thanks to the TCT feature, a 1.4 TB MultiAir 170 HP Giulietta has the best efficiency-performance ratio in its category. It is basically a twin clutch automatic gearbox setup which allows downshifting or upshifting with either a gear lever or paddles behind the wheel. On top of that, one can further optimize the Giulietta’s road manners with Alfa’s DNA dynamic selector – a master switch of all the systems in the car. Have it on Dynamic and get ready to cut some apexes with vigor. Normal mode on the other hand provides you with an everyday driving set up and All-weather mode is for rainy or snowy surfaces with poor grip. Despite being capable of reaching 100km/h in 7.7 seconds, the Giulietta TCT MultiAir returns 5.2 l/100km in the combined cycle and emits 121 g/km of CO2
Props also go to another Giulietta TCT which harbors a 170 HP 2.0 JTDM diesel engine. It does the 100km/h sprint in 7.9 seconds but offers even more economy – 4.5 l/100 km and 119 g/km of carbon dioxide emissions. To prove highlight the role of the TCT in these figures, Alfa say that the same car with a manual does 4.7 l/100 km and 125 g/km.
A somewhat less powerful 120 HP Giulietta Distinctive 1.4 Turbo will also be present to restore equilibrium after the fury that will be the fourth Giulietta – 235 HP 1750 TBi Quadrifoglio Verde. That flagship trooper can shred its own tires with 340 Nm of torque as early as 1,900 rpm.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta (QV)
Alfa Mitto
The Mitto niche will be represented by three member – the 0.9 TwinAir Turbo that has only two cylinders yet delivers a maximum of 85 HP at 5,500 rpm and a torque of 145 Nm at 2,000 rpm. Basically this drivetrain, thanks to its cleverness, is capable of producing more torque and be cleaner and less thirstier than any other engine rated with that same power. This little bumble bee also comes with the Alfa DNA system and a Stop & Start function which helps with the urban frugality.
The not-so-conscious about fuel economy can find paradise somewhere else. Why not start with the Mitto Quadrifoglio Verde with Alfa Active Suspension? It is all very complicated underneath – The suspension interacts with the braking system and steering to obtain more effective control of the dynamics of the vehicle or in other words it is a damn good fun this car. Only Alfas capable putting a smile on one’s face go under the Quadrifoglio Verde name. Noticeable differences from a stock model hide in and out. For example the rear-view mirror covers, the headlight and light cluster frames and the handles come with an exclusive satinised chrome material; a new sporty seat with a central part made of Alcantara. Things on the options list include 18” alloy wheels and sporty Sabelt seats with carbon fiber woven backrests.
Under the hood, a 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo works its magic while we need to remember that this is the light and nimble Mitto we are talking about – 6.7 kg per a single horsepower, 0 to 100 km/h is done in just over 7 seconds.
Last but not least, there will be a Mitto fitted with the same TCT equipment that comes with the Giulietta models. The engine is still 1.4 but with reduced power output and a Stop & Start system – a well rounded mid-range car with some extraordinary technology inside.
