  • Vilner Morphs Into Beauty and Harmony With Mother Nature

2017 Vilner Acura MDXThere is something special in the bond between an artist and a client. It is a sort of art that can lead to beautiful results and stunning pictures. Having mastered this art, the magicians of Vilner proudly reveal their latest project: 2010 Acura MDX that is especially reshaped to please even the most demanding. In this case this is a lady from China that adores butterflies and fine art.

In fact, her concept is rather challenging and as beautiful as a butterfly: she showed Viner team members a box with six butterflies and told them about the four life phases that any butterfly must go through. Her desire, though, was to add a new fifth phase that would be incorporated in the vehicle.

    2017 Vilner Acura MDX

Confident and mindful as always, Vilner team accepts the challenge and immediately begins work on the project. In fact, this time they decided not to act alone: Mr. Chao, co-founder of Vilner China, considered to be one of the most honorable and respected artists in China, joined forces with the engineers. And the result is rather spectacular.

SEE ALSO: Tesla Model X and a touch of Vilner magic. Pure eye candy

The main accent are indeed the wings of the butterflies, incorporated in the dashboard and rear doors. Of course, the elegance and beauty are not achieved only with wings and here’s why Vilner team added fine finish, neat color schemes and meticulous attention towards details.

    2017 Vilner Acura MDX

Such details can be seen on the steering wheel, door inserts, armrests and the seats themselves. And what has caught our eye is the fine combination between fine black-purple leather and blue-purple Alcanatara that altogether with the contrast stitching add an almost biological and “alive” presence in the cabin.

    2017 Vilner Acura MDX

There is also one more super cool feature. The roof. It is created by incorporating fine optical pieces on Alcanatara leather. This is the second time some is doing such a thing. As you might remember, the first time the world saw such a beautiful technique was with a Rolls-Royce Phantom vehicle. This technique usually costs about 13,000 USD. And with the Acura the quality and precisions are exactly the same. So, we recommend you take a good look at this roof, because it is definitely worth it!

    2017 Vilner Acura MDX

The exterior styling is also worth mentioning. Acura MDX “Morph” received some neat light blue accents that were created with exclusive technology. The result is matte finish and reminding one about butterflies’ wing dust. Cool, isn’t it?

  • Next Gen 2017 Acura MDX to Stun Visitors at the New York Auto Show

2017 Acura MDX TeaserAcura MDX is America’s best-selling three-row luxury SUV. Now it is going to be released in its MY2017 variant thus receiving substantial design changes, wide range of features and new drivetrain technology. Besides the teaser that has just been unveiled, the company also stated that the SUV will be making an international debut at the New York Auto Show on March 23. So we are eager to see the redesigned and reengineered MDX.

Scarce information has been disclosed so far, but we know that the model will feature substantial design enhancements, improvements in terms of luxury comfort and convenience features, as well as advanced powertrain technology that is absolutely new. By the way when speaking about drivetrains we must also mention that the new one featured in the MDX will be in concert with the Acura brand’s focus on Precision Crafted Performance.

SEE ALSO: Acura Reminds Everyone Why NSX and Precision Concept Are so Awesome

John Mendel, the executive vice president of American Honda, also confirmed that the company is currently sharpening the focus on the Precision Crafted Performance DNA. This is the reason why 2017 MDX will integrate all styling enhancements and innovative powertrain technology. The goal is to bring Acura closer to the next step in that direction.

An interesting fact is that the MDX is actually the best-selling three-row luxury SUV of all time and Acura’s best-selling SUV. It has been sold in more than 50,000 units in each of the past three years. Just like it is now, 2017 Acura MDX will continue to be designed by the Acura Design Studio in Torrance, California and to be produced at the company’s Lincoln auto plant, but the East Liberty, Ohio auto plant will also aid the process. The car is slated for production in early 2017.

  • More Goodies for 2016 Acura MDX

Acura upgraded significantly the 2016 MDX SUV. The updated luxury vehicle launches in March and it will feature various new features and technologies as well as new powertrain options and an expanded model range. All trim levels will be equipped as a standard with the nine-speed automatic transmission which will assist the 3.5-liter, 24-valve i-VTEC direct-injected V-6 engine. The transmission features Sequential SportShift and is 66 lbs lighter than the previous six-speed automatic.

The shift lever which was previously console-mounted is now replaced with a fully electronic, shift-by-wire gear selector. The driver can select Park, Neutral and Drive modes with the push of a button. Reverse is selected by pulling back on a dedicated switch.

For those who want to manually select gears, Acura kept the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Furthermore, the MDX is also fitted with company’s next-generation Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). It uses lighter weight (by 19 lbs.) twin-clutch rear differential and progressively distributes torque between the front and rear axles, and between the left and right rear wheels.

MDX with Technology Package models can be equipped with the AcuraWatch suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. These include Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Rear Cross Traffic Monitor. In addition, the Advance Package comes as a standard with AcuraWatch.

At the heart of AcuraWatch is the combination of camera and radar technology.

Working together, the camera and radar can sense the roadway and objects within it, including other vehicles and pedestrians, thus helping avoid or mitigate the severity of a collision.

Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning are offered as standard equipment on the MDX with Technology Package. All MDX models come equipped with a Multi-View Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines.

Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) uses a Monocular Camera that is mounted on the upper portion of the windshield. It identifies solid or dashed painted lane lines, Botts’ Dots and Cat Eye markers. RDM utilizes both steering force, via EPS, as well as braking force, via VSA, to help the MDX stay a detected lane. Versatile visual and audible warnings alert the driver when the RDM system is taking corrective action.

Rear Cross Traffic Monitor is the next new assistive technology which is featured in the AcuraWatch. RCTM works in conjunction with the Blind Spot Information (BSI) radar sensors. Both improve driver’s confidence when parking.

Next, the 2016 MDX also adds frameless rearview mirror, Siri Eyes Free voice recognition and an easy-entry/exit driver’s seat that moves 35 mm rearward when the driver’s door is opened. There is also a TPMS fill assist that applies audible alert in the case when the driver inflates the tire to the correct pressure.

2016 Acura MDX has a starting of $42,865 USD.

  • 2014 Acura MDX Is Made For Mankind [VIDEO]

2014 Acura MDX debuted in March at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. Today the brand unveiled a new multi-channel advertising campaign for the all-new SUV, which is entitled “The Extremely New MDX – Made for Mankind”.

The advertising campaign puts emphasis on the full technical transformation of the MDX and in addition, it centers around the concept of “Made for Mankind”. The latter highlights the unique engineering and design philosophy at the heart of all Acura vehicles, which lies in the synergy between man and machine.

Acura aims to showcase what makes the MDX different from other vehicles and how it harnesses technology that connects the Acura driver to the car, to the road, and to the world around them.

Furthermore, there will be three distinct video concepts as part of the campaign. First, the “Human Race” represents the anthem spot evoking Acura’s dedication to creating vehicles performing in harmony with the driver.

Secondly, “Re-Invention” shows the way MDX has been completely re-thought and enhanced to the point that the only remaining component of the previous generation model is a small metal bracket.

At last, “Choose” puts a highlight on the 2014 MDX’s all-new Integrated Dynamic System (IDS) with three driving modes: Sport, Normal and Comfort. The IDS adjusts steering effort, throttle response, SH-AWD performance and Active Sound Control in order to better to suit the driver.

2014 Acura MDX will go on sale by the end of the month. The vehicle is built on a completely new platform and it offers excellent ride comfort, more versatile and luxurious cabin, enhanced fuel efficiency, advanced connectivity and great dynamic performance.
