It is still fresh and new, but it has already a comprehensive upgrade: two 3-series LCI models are now geared with numerous additional features with the aid of tuning specialists AC Schnitzer. The engineering team has helped to improve the power units of the 316d and 335d to additional 139hp (102kW) for the 316d and 360hp (263kW) for the 335d model.
All the performance upgrades make the 3-series even more interesting and more appealing for customers and fans. In fact, one more time readers of magazines have voted AC Schnitzer for the best engine tuner.
The 3-series LCI models benefit from the incorporated adjustable AC Schnitzer Racing suspension with adjustable compression and rebound settings, while the ground adhesion is improved by combination of suspension components and wheel and tire sets. And in order to achieve visually appealing stance, the team geared special wheels that widens the wheelset for the 3-series models.
On the other hand, interior is geared with AC Shnitzer Black Line aluminum cover for the BMW i-drive system controller, widened choice of gear knobs, Black line aluminum handbrake handle and restyled aluminum pedal set. And for these who are still not satisfied: the tuner has also geared the vehicles with front spoiler elements, carbon mirror cover, rear roof spoiler and rear spoiler, along with stylish desigh stripes and rear skirt protective film. How cool is that?
What happens when you combine hybrid power wit hybrid thinking? The result is simple and can be expressed via this amazing project by AC Schnitzer. This time the tuner has modified BMW’s i8 plug-in hybrid giving it special equipment that further emphasizes the unique qualities of the model.
Exterior
First to be mentioned is the lowering. This BMW sits very close to the ground in a standard form, but now it is even closer. Precisely, the tuners have lowered it by 25 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear. This helps is also to develop optimum efficiency and better dynamics.
The in-house made carbon fiber front spoiler elements, side skirts and rear wing also contribute for the unforgettable performance. In addition, AC Schnitzer logos can be seen on both sides of the vehicle as well as on the center caps of the wheels. Speaking of which, they are the so called AC1 forged alloys in bicolor double-spoke design which have been fitted with low profile tires.
Another benefit from these wheels is the weight saving. Compared with the standard alloys on which the i8 runs, these save up to 30 percent weight, thus improving the driving dynamics. The AC1 are 21 inch of size and matched with 245/35 R 21 tires at the front 285/30 R 21 tires at the rear.
Interior
Unlike many tuners, AC Schnitzer specialists find the interior as important as the exterior. However, this time they haven’t given it a thorough make-over, but some small changes. Inside one will enjoy aluminium pedal set and root rest from the same material as well as velours floor mats.
There is also a video promoting this car, so don’t forget to check it out:
AC Schnitzer BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe combines perfectly the sporting performance of a coupe with the comfort of a saloon. The tuning package first delivers enhancements to the exterior. Take a look at the new front spoiler and rear diffusor, which provide better ground adhesion. The carbon mirror covers, chromed front grille and rear skirt protective film prove that this car is the perfect blend between sporting performance and comfort.
Inside, AC Schnitzer gave the interior additional comfort. There are the new aluminium handbrake handle in “Black Line“ style, the gear knob with digital gear display, the illuminated leather gear knob or the aluminium “Black Line“ gear knob. The aluminium pedal set and foot rest, AC Schnitzer keyholder and foot mats in velours round out the interior improvements.
There are various wheels to choose form for the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe. The Aachen tuners offer a choice of four different types: Type VIII forged alloys in BiColor, Type VIII rims in BiColor (black, silver or anthracite), Type IV wheels in silver or BiColor, and Type IV rims in BiColor black.
In terms of engineering, this BMW received various performance upgrades. The AC Schnitzer version of the 428i develops 294 hp (216 kW), while the 435i produces 360 hp (265 kW). In addition, the 420i now offers 245 hp (180 kW).
The diesel engines were also uprated and their figures are the following: 420d now delivers 218 hp (160 kW), the 430d and 435d generate 309 hp (227 kW) and 360 hp (265 kW), respectively. There is also available AC Schnitzer intercooler for the petrol engines as well as engine styling for all versions.
The enhanced power output is further underscored by the throaty sound of the AC Schnitzer silencer. It comprises of two chromed tailpipe trims, which comes in a choice of “Racing Evo“, “Racing“ or “Sport“ style, in right/left combination.
At last, the sports suspension here is a first-class setup, lowering the front axle by 10 – 25 mm and the rear by 5 – 15 mm. There is also an available suspension spring kit, which lowers the 4-series by up to 25 mm at the front and brings the rear 10 – 25 mm closer to the ground. The AC Schnitzer racing suspension ensures spirited cornering and delivers 30 – 40 mm lowering on the front and 25 – 40 mm on the rear.
AC Schnitzer is now offering high performance rear silencers made from stainless steel with different chromed tailpipes. The new silencers deliver impressive sonorous sound and a sporty appearance. This is really important because the exhaust is the acoustic and optical signature of a car.
AC Schnitzer also offers polished and chromed exhaust tail trim Racing Evo manufactured from stainless steel. The new tailpipe design is an evolution of the successful Evo tailpipe trim, which is now superseded by the new one.
The “Racing Evo” trim is an “evolutionary jump” with its unique design featuring two classic round tailpipes with slash cut, joined into a harmonious whole by an undulating cover positioned above.
The “Racing Evo” tailpipe is perfectly matched to the latest BMW models for which it was exclusively developed – BMW 1-series F20 and F21, 2-series F22 and F23, 3-series F30 and F31 as well as 4-series F32 and F33. The “Racing Evo” trim is also available as a purely aesthetic solution, as a standalone tailpipe trim.
The improved dispersing of exhaust gases allows your car’s engine to work more efficiently and “breathe” properly. This can improve the engine performance and fuel consumption. The original AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer is specially designed for your engine so it benefits in greater response and faster achieving of full power. Even in the lower rpm ranges, the system emits a characteristic, sporting sonorous note.
Last, but not least, the AC Schnitzer twin sports exhaust system is made from V2A stainless steel boasting a long life and optimum resistance to corrosion.
AC Schnitzer is offering an exquisite Type VIII alloy rim in Anthracite finish. The new wheel type is supplementing the Type VIII wheel range. The latter also features Type VIII forged racing wheels, lightweight forged rim and the light alloy wheel Type VIII BiColor in black and silver. The new offering has undoubtedly a beautiful but “easy care” look.
As a matter of fact, the Type VIII alloys are made in the low pressure process and afterwards – subjected to casting and heat treatment. The high quality casting process contributes towards the delicate and lightweight design of the new five double spokes of the wheels.
Furthermore, the perfect “anthracite” finish, gives the Type VIII alloy wheel a sophisticated sporting look, suitable for many current and classic BMW models. The wheels can also perfectly be fitted in the wheelarches of the MINI Countryman and MINI Paceman.
AC Schnitzer’s Type VIII Light Alloy Wheels are available for BMW 1 to 7 series, as well as for the Z4, X1, X3, X5 and X6 models. They are also perfect for MINI Paceman and Countryman as mentioned.
AC Schnitzer BMW 1-series M Coupe has just been unveiled through tuning company’s Facebook page. As a matter of fact this is the fastest road-legal BMW. The proof for this is that the car has achieved a lap time of 1:35.80 min on the Sachsenring.
On the outer side of the car we can clearly see that some original elements have been replaced with carbon fiber. In addition, the perfect BiColour Finish gives the Type VIII alloy wheel a sophisticated sporting look which makes perfectly the aggressive stance of the vehicle.
The interior is also entirely changed and obviously the aim was to deliver more luxurious experience of the occupants. We can see that the seats are wrapped in leather and have impressive contrast “diamond” stitching. Wrapping is also noticeable on the steering wheel. Floor mats have been changed.
M cars are not the only prime candidates for first-class tuning. Take the BMW 328i for example. It’s pretty neat, powerful, compact and nimble. It only takes a company like AC Schnitzer to turn it into a desirable performance machine.
The engine receives an extra control unit that amps the power from 245hp to 295hp. The maximum torque is now 410Nm. Top speed is still limited to 250 km/h but zero to one hundred happens in 5.7 seconds – .2 of a second less.
The suspension has been lowered thanks to a spring kit provided by Schnitzer and the choice of wheels is mind boggling: AC Schnitzer wheels Type IV BiColor and silver, Type VI and Type VIII in 18 , 19 and 20-inch sizes. The Type VIII are also available in BiColor – lacquered silver with bright turned aluminium accents.
Additional aerodynamic features include the AC Schnitzer front spoiler, rear roof spoiler, rear spoiler and rear skirt extension. From the latter, 2 pairs of chromy twin tailpipes stick out, giving away the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer.
The interior of the car serves as a showcase of AC Schnitzer‘s“Black Line” aluminum themes – that includes the “i-Drive” system controller and the handbrake handle. Pedal set is aluminum as well and so is the foot rest. The floor mats are in velours.
You can go and see it right now at the Geneva Motor Show but if you want to get one, that’s going to have to happen latter this year. In the summer perhaps.

When the latest BMW M5 came out, it was the definition of balance between mad performance and everyday sedan practicality. Now the Aachen-based AC Schnitzer want to tip the scales in faveor of more power, more sportiness and more flamboyancy. It’s the ACS5 Sport Saloon.
To start off, they added an additional control unit on the engine that boosts the power to620hp. The engine’s torque output is also increased to 790Nm. Zero to sixty now takes 4.1 seconds. An AC Schnitzer twin sports silencer with valve control provides the sound to match the grunt. Chromed “Sports Trim“ tailpipes enclose the Schnitzer carbon rear diffuser.
That brings us to aerodynamics. The diffuser plus the carbon front spoiler, rear roof spoiler and rear spoiler provide necessary down force which is there to tame the fresh power. In the mean time, a chromed front grille, “Magic Blue“ and silver livery, AC Schnitzer badges for the side and anAC Schnitzer logo “ACS5 Sport“ visually complete the aerodynamic power pack.
The suspension has been slightly tweaked as a new AC spring kit replaces the standard one. There is also a generous choice of wheels. 20-inch Type V forged alloy wheels orType IV BiColor rims in the same size. The third option involves a set of bigger, 21-inchType VIII racing and forged alloy rims.
“Magic Blue“ is the prevailing theme inside. A “Black Line“ aluminum cover for the “i-Drive” system controller and aluminum pedals add some contrast. The footrest also matches the pedals while the floor mats are in velours.
So if you ever want more from your BMW M5, AC Schnitzer is the company for you.
