Zender has introduced the Abarth 500 Corsa Stradale at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The German tuning company fitted the small hatchback with styling mods as well as performance package.
The exterior boasts an aggressive body kit including new front and rear bumpers, big side skirts and wheel arc extensions in order to fir the 18” alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero Black performance tires – 215/35 ZR 18. The stance is improved thanks to an adjustable sports suspension.

An exclusive ad campaign has been happening and it teases the new Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio. The one-of-a-kind print ad will debut this week and it is named “Body Paint”. It will be featured in this year’s annual ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue.
In this visually stunning print ad were featured more than a dozen female artists, models and contortionists. After being painted as one of the parts of the model, their bodies recreated the image of the new Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio.
The Head of Fiat Brand North America – Jason Stoicevich, said that they basically wanted to create a concept for ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue that was as visually unique as the new Abarth model.
The unique advertisement conveys the athletic grace of the car and in fact is devoted to the athletes around the globe. Exclusive behind-the-scenes video of how the “Body Paint” print ad was made can be viewed below and they can ensure you that the ad was not photoshopped!
A new line of Abarth Fiats is underway. Two new models, the 595 Turismo and the 595 Competizione, will diversify the Italian skunk work’s portfolio.
Both cars will employ the same 1.4 liter T-Jet engine that’s been boosted to 160 bhp, both will have the same two options – a manual and an MTA (Manual Transmission Automated) semi-automatic gearbox and both will come with an upgraded set of dampers.
Some more cosmetic features will be shared as well. Think tinted windows at the back, Xenon headlights, 17-inch wheels and red brake calipers. The Abarth 595 Turismo will be more long haul oriented (as the name suggests) so it will come with automatic climate control, leather seats, Alutex pedals, footrest and door kick-plates, “bespoke” floor mats and machined aluminum fuel and oil filler caps.
The Abarth 595 Competizione gets cross-drilled front and rear disc brakes a Monza exhaust upgrade and aluminum pedals.
Additionally, the 140 bhp Abarth 500 will remain in the family as the entry-level Fiat but with now more equipment as standard. Air conditioning, front fog lights, rear parking sensors and a leather gear lever surround included – £13,975 ($21,824) for the manual. The Turismo and Competizione start from £17,725 ($27,681) and £18,725 ($29,242) respectively.

The 2012 Abarth 500 is one of the best value for money cars, which you can buy in the UK. It is in third place after Audi Q5 and Skoda Yeti with an average resale value of 60% of its list price, based on 3-year or 30 000 miles use.
It shows that Abarth’s plan to hold off depreciation as much as possible is working. Since its launch in July 2008, the performance arm of Fiat Group Automobiles has quickly established itself to be a desirable brand that people want to own and drive; not short-term nor highly discounted.
“Right from the start we had the plan to build in long-term value to the Abarth brand,” commented Ivan Gibson, head of Abarth in the UK.
“A sustainable cost of ownership is something we have always been able to offer Abarth drivers and, add to that the fact that the Abarth 500 is a timeless and highly attractive car, it’s no wonder that it has done so well in this important research.”, he added.
The Abarth 500 is powered by a 1.4 liter 16V turbocharged petrol with 135HP (99 kW) at 5500RPM and 206Nm (152 lb-ft) at 3000RPM in sport mode. The engine is EURO 5 compliant and returns 43.4 mpg on combined cycle with emissions of 155 g/km CO2.
The 2012 Abarth 500 is priced from £14 461 OTR for the 1.4 T-Jet model.
Abarth brand at the Geneva Motor Show is going to have spectacular presence! There will be presented some of the highly anticipated models by the brand. The all new Abarth 695 Assetto Corse is a small super-sports car designed for racing on the track, which will make its world debut at the show. In addition, the new model Abarth Punto Scorpione will also make a debut. This is a Limited Edition and is dedicated to all those who love high speed and performance. Another milestone on the “road to performance” is the new Abarth 595 which actually is a remake of the popular 595 model that Karl Abarth presented in 1963. It now carries enhanced performance features of a “basic” car, offering a power upgrade to 160 HP (118 kW) as standard. The new Abarth 595 is going to be offered in two variations: “Competizione” and “Turismo”.
First of all Abarth 695 Assetto Corse is designed for track racing and depicts the continuity of the historic 695 brand that came into being in 2009 with the 695 Tributo Ferrari. The car also appears to be a continuation of the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse. Furthermore the 695 Assetto Corse is characterised by an aggressive front decorated with a badge bearing the Abarth logo and, underneath, a broader bumper complete with aerodynamic spoiler and screen-printed grilles instead of the plastic masks of the standard version. Under the bonnet there is a 1368 cm3 turbocharged engine that delivers 205 HP (151 kW). The rear of the car features a winged spoiler, a badge bearing the Abarth logo and a twin exhaust pipe. The 695 model sits on 17″ light forged racing wheels, enriched with new floating, perforated and self-ventilated front disc brakes and perforated rear disc brakes. More importantly, there is included the Sadev sequential gearbox with a specific ratio that when combined with a metal-ceramic twin plate clutch reaches absolutely top performance in its category. The interior of the car contains all of the safety equipment required by FIA regulations, including a roll-bar welded to the body that has been further optimised to improve its torsional stiffness.

The next Abarth which will be on display in Geneva is the new Punto Scorpione, which expresses the Abarth Punto’s sporting characteristics. The Limited Edition Scorpione is intended for a more mature audience that wishes to express their sporting spirit more discreetly and elegantly, but with no intention to settle for less. Only 199 examples of the model are producesed. The exterior is distinguished by a ton-sur-ton livery where the Scorpione Black of the body becomes matt on the bonnet and roof. The glossy black “passband” element stands out on the latter, with a hand-polishing treatment carried out at Abarth&C. itself, with a view to ensuring customisation with genuine craftsmanship. Moreover, it is equipped with a 1.4 MultiAir engine boosted to 180 HP (132 kW) at 5750 rpm and with a maximum torque of 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) at 2500 rpm, the Abarth Punto Scorpione reaches a top speed of more than 216 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds. The car has glossy black 18″ alloy wheels and front and rear Koni shock absorbers with FSD (Frequency Selective Dumping) valve and specially lowered springs. The exhaust pipe, oversized in the central section, is taken from the now famous “Esseesse” kit. The interior of the special Abarth Punto Scorpione features “Abarth Corsa by Sabelt” black technical fabric seats, with red and yellow stitching and matt black backrest, type-approved and lightened in keeping with the car’s sporting spirit.

Next the attention will be put on the two new models featured in the Abarth 500 Range: “Turismo” and “Competizione”. In both customisation options, the car is fitted with a 1.4 Turbo T-Jet engine whose power has been increased to a good 160 HP (118 kW) thanks to the standard engine tuning kit. The car has 4-cylinder 16-valve 1,368 cm3 engine (with fixed geometry IHI turbocharger), which delivers thrilling torque of 230 Nm (170 kW) at 3000 rpm in Sport mode, top speed of 211 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds. These results are due to the overboost function, activated using the “Sport” button, which modulates control unit mapping and turbo pressure, in addition to load on the steering wheel. Yet this trademark Abarth performance accompanies fuel consumption: 6.5 l/100 km in the combined cycle. Furthermore, in the both models is included the TTC (Torque Transfer Control) device as standard, which by enhancing the transfer of drive torque to the wheels, improves the car’s road holding without compromising fun at the wheel. The vehicled is equipped as standard with Xenon headlights with dipped and driving light functions for improved light emission and excellent performance in all weather conditions. These devices deliver three times the light intensity and duration of standard halogen-lamp headlights. The “Turismo” model sits on magnesium-coloured 17″ alloy wheels with GranTurismo-inspired design, which contributes to the car’s elegance. It also comes with electrically operated manual Abarth Competizione gearbox with controls on the steering wheel as standard. The second model “Competizione”, is dedicated to more extreme sports enthusiasts, to the true “racing purists”, and for this reason it has 5-speed manual gearbox which improves personal driving style through a more direct relationship with the car. This version sits on 17″ titanium-coloured alloy wheels, with yellow Brembo brake calipers. As for the “Turismo” version, side and tailgate respectively are enhanced by the 595 and 595 “Competizione” logo, both in aluminium, just as the front bumper grille and extractor are titanium grey. How about the interior: they also have sporty and aggressive personality, thanks to the “Abarth Corsa by Sabelt” leather and leather-coloured Alcantara seats, bearing the 595 logo embroidered on the integrated headrest. At last, the gear lever knob, sill plate, pedal unit and aluminium kick plate are all decorated with the Abarth motifs. The complete style of the cars is finished with matt titanium side stripes, which also feature on the mirror covers.
Big news! No really, the Fiat 500L (L for “Large”) will be making a debut on the 82nd Geneva Motor Show and today we have the first official images of it. Supposedly it will be targeted at people who want an SUV with MPV passenger space in a B car segment of restrained dimensions and efficiency (picky). The 500L, which complements the 500 Abarth and Cabrio versions, is Fiat‘s best shot at that.
Dimensions stand at 414 cm of length, 178 cm of width and 166 cm of height while inside the single-volume cabin offers seating for five. It is a further development of the concept of ‘cab forward’ introduced by Fiat with the 600 Multipla, a precursor to the concept of the compact people carrier.
The 500L wont hit the European showrooms until the last quarter of 2012 with three engine choices: the TwinAir (2011 international engine of the year), a 1.4 unit and a turbo diesel, 1.3 Multijet II. Although the MPV/SUV/Estate Fiats 500 will hold the latest of Fiat Group’s technology, production will be based in a Fiat factory in Kragujevac, Serbia.
Abarth 500 get some more boost from SuperChips ltd. The specialists has worked its magic on the Abarth’s Bosch MED7.9.10 engine management system to enable the 500’s 1.4-litre turbocharged engine to deliver some more power.
Still, the reliability doesn’t suffer at all, because everything is carefully tested on dyno. The ECU remap gives enhanced performance without any side effects.
Originally, the 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine delivers 135PS (99 kW) at 5500RPM and 180Nm (130 lb-ft) or 206Nm (152 lb-ft) in sport mode at 3000RPM. The tuning gives another 22PS (16 kW) and 46Nm (34 lb-ft), meaning that you’ll have 167PS (115 kW) at 5654RPM and 226Nm (164 lb-ft) at 2942RPM.
On the road, this means significantly improved in-gear acceleration, making journeys more exciting, overtaking safer and fast driving more fun. In conjunction with Superchips attention to detail to ensure sharper throttle response, the end result is an Abarth 500 that feels considerably sharper than before!
The Superchips Abarth 500 upgrade requires installation at one of approximately 80 Superchips performance centres and is covered by a full Customer Service Guarantee and an industry-leading 12 month / 30 000 supplementary full vehicle warranty.
The Superchips ECU remap is available now directly from Superchips and its UK dealer network, priced at £455 and will fit on all Abarth 500 cars from February 2009 onwards.
Aznom Fiat 500 Abarth features a mid-mounted 1.4 liter turbocharged engine with 230PS (169 kW) and 330Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque. The car is rear-wheel drive, which means awesome handling and extraordinary fun. The performance characteristics are great, too. 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 245 km/h.
Here is a video from Marchettino, where the R230 makes some donuts and drifts. Note that, it is extremely hard to control a RWD car with such small wheelbase and so much power. R230 is very nervous and unstable, especially, when it is driven to the limit.
The curb weight of the car is just 1050kg, but thanks to the position of the engine, the small car has a perfect balance and it will be a great to drive at the race track.
Last, but not least, the R230 also gets Tar-Ox brakes system, Bilstein B14 race suspensions, new Turbo and some more modifications.
