  • 2016 Audi A8 L: There Are no Boundaries for Experienced Manufacturers

    2016 Audi A8 L Extended Audi has gone to even further with the latest flagship A8 L: there is a special request of an European client, who wanted even more from the well-known brand. Audi team exclusively created a model, measuring 6.36 meters (20.9 ft) in length and a wheelbase of 4.22 meters (13.8 ft). Of course the long vehicle includes high levels of comfort, premium components and overall luxurious ambience.

    Also, the exclusive A8 is lighter and grants buyer with the new Audi Space Frame design, featuring mainly aluminum. Also, engineers extended the side sills and central tunnel, also by using aluminum components. Also, this distinctive XXL saloon offers 1.9 meters more wheelbase, compared to standard A8 models and maintains harmonious roof line. In fact, the whole body design has been reworked to offer these eye-catching lines and overall incredible visual impact.

    The interior includes six seats, covered with extra-supple Valcona leather in velvet beige color. The second and third rows also feature electrically adjustable individual seats. The third row offers continuous central console  and a Rear Seat Entertainment display. And let’s not forget the cool box.

    In terms of performance and drivetrain system, the unique Audi A8 is geared with a 3.0-liter TFSI power unit, capable of developing 310hp (227kW) and 440 Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox, delivering power to all the four wheels.  The vehicle sprints from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 7.1 seconds and can reach an electronically governed top speed of 279km/h (155mph).

  • 2014 Audi A8 L Security – VR7 Ballistic Protection

    Audi has unveiled 2014 A8 L Security meeting the class VR7 ballistic protection. The bullet-proof premium saloon is available with two engines and a number of upgrades.

    The dimensions of the vehicle are 5.27 meters long and with a 3.12 meter wheelbase. The V8-powered model features LED headlights, while the W12 version gets the Matrix LED technology.

    The engine range includes a 4.0 liter V8 TFSI – 435HP (320 kW) and 600Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and fuel consumption of 10.9 liters / 100 km (21.5 mpg US or 25.8 mpg UK). The powerful 6.3 liter W12 FSI naturally-aspirated engine has 500HP (368 kw) and 625Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). It needs 13.5 liters / 100 km (17.4 mpg US or 20.8 mpg UK).

    The model has been certified by the German Ballistics Testing Center in Munich. It complies with the VR 7 ballistic protection standard requirements. What is more, the car has some areas with armor complying with VR 9 and VR 10 classes.

    The additional safety equipment of 2014 A8 L Security include an emergency exist system, a fire extinguisher system and an emergency fresh-air system. Other special features are a smoke extractor, selective unlocking of doors, LED signal system for convoy driving, siren, flashing lights and an accident data recorder.

  • 2014 Audi A8 L TDI – US Price $82,500

    Audi US has announced the pricing of the new 2014 A8 L TDI. The luxurious saloon offers stylish exterior, superb comfort, technology, performance and efficiency. All this comes at reasonable price of $82,500.

    2014 Audi A8 L TDI has a 3.0 liter diesel with 240HP (179 kW) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.4 seconds and an an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city / 36 mpg highway/ 28 mpg combined.

    For the 2014 Audi A8 L TDI, the package options were optimized to better reflect customer demand. The available Premium Package now consists of Audi side assist and pre sense rear, 22-way multi-contour comfort seats, font seat ventilation with massage and full LED headlights.

    The A8 L TDI joins an expanding model line-up including the A8 3.0T, A8 4.0T, S8 4.0T and A8 W12. The A8 L TDI will be available in the long-wheelbase version only.

  • Audi A8 L W12 Exclusive Concept

    Audi has introduced A8 L W12 Exclusive Concept at the current Frankfurt Motor Show. The luxury sedan presents an exclusively finished interior – with leather of the prestigious Poltrona Frau brand and olive ash natural inlays.

    It is powered by the famous W12 6.3 liter petrol engine with whopping 500PS (368 kW) and 625Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque. 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds and a top speed of of 250 km/h (155 mph), electronically limited of course.

    The seats are upholstered in Cognac-colored leather by the exclusive Italian manufacturer Poltrona Frau – a grade with an exceptionally soft, even, natural finish. There are highlights of granite gray piping on the center sections of the seat and seat backs. Leather elements on numerous parts of the interior – such as the dashboard, the center console, the tunnel, the door trims and seat consoles – round out the equipment; even the car key is trimmed in leather.

    Audi A8 L W12 Exclusive Concept will be available in limited series of just 50 units as each will receive a number plate.

    Audi A8 L Security will carry some very important persons, when it go out.

    In fact, it is a standard A8 L, but with 720 kg of armour including armored steel, polycarbonate-coated multilayer glass, reinforced side sills and acres of aramide fabric. However, this is not everything – the door and window modifications add additional 660 kg. Thanks to these upgrades, the car is certified for VR 7 class ballistic protection.
