  • BMW M6 GT3 Street Legal Doppelganger by M&D. Yes, it exists!

M&D BMW 650i PD6XX GT3 Front View - Exterior PD6XX GT3 is the name of a very special project made by the talented tuners at M&D Exclusive Cardesign. Believe it or not it is based on the 650i F13 BMW, although it looks a lot like the M6 series. Actually, BMW recently unveiled the M6 GT3 announcing it as the new GT3 category challenger for the 2016 motorsports season. And as much as we like it, we are 100% sure, that the car won’t see the streets. Here the M&D specialists step in and they offer us a solution: a street legal doppelganger.

    Wide-Body Aero Kit

The transformation of the 650i F13 starts with the addition of an aero wide-body kit. First, it includes front bumper with enlarged front air intakes. There is also a front splitter and dive planes on each side, which act in terms of reducing lift. Then, the wheel arches both front and rear were extended and are housing wider wheels, too. A new bonnet with a prominent power bulge speaks of an enhanced twin-turbo V8 motor beneath.

The side skirts are more prominent now and they merge into the new rear bumper, which in turn has received four big exhaust tailpipes. At last, the aero kit also adds a boot-lid mounted spoiler that helps to reduce lift over the rear axle.

    Wheels & Suspension

    M&D BMW 650i PD6XX GT3 Rear and Side View - Exterior

PD6XX GT3 project car runs on in-house made three-piece Rennen Forged Type R-55 alloy wheels in 10.0 and 11.0×21-inch sizes, at the front and rear, respectively. These alloys were shod with 255/30R21 and 295/25R21 ultra-low profile Continental Sport Contact 5 tires. As you can see, the wheels are deeply dished and are painted in matte gold, with the outer rims in a glossy gold. But can you spot that the interior surfaces and wheel bolts are painted in black. Finished in Racing Red, the big brake calipers stand out behind the wheel spokes. In terms of suspension, the height of the car has been dropped by 30 mm, with the help of lower sport springs.

    Other Advantages of the Exterior

M&D tuners are also specialists in foil wrapping. They have applied the red and blue BMW motorsport colors to the mineral white base car in a pattern that clearly mimics the dynamic color scheme of the M6 GT3. What is more, several exterior parts were also emphasized with gloss black paint to create strong visual contrast, while the bonnet includes colorful flashes in Racing Red, black and blue.

    ECU & Exhaust

    M&D BMW 650i PD6XX GT3 Exhaust Tailpipes

The standard engine under the hood of the 650i F13 is the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, which produces 408 hp (300 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. After an ECU software optimization however, the unit is more forceful and boasts 495 hp (364 kW) with 722 Nm (533 lb-ft) of torque.

At last but not least, custom-made sports exhaust system with X-pipe and a pair of rear silencers and 80 mm diameter black chrome finish tailpipes, help in the production of throaty sound.

Despite BMW M6 GT3 will ever make it to the streets, we are definitely sure that the PD6XX GT3 is a worthy doppelganger! Oh, and by the way, have I mentioned that the car in the pictures below is for sale?

  • M&D Exclusive Cardesign Converts BMW 650i into M6

M&D Exclusive Cardesign made something very impressive: they have converted a 650i Coupe into a monstrous M6. Even more, they claim that this car can outperform any M6. The powerful transformation started with the installation of a special PD6XX-wide-body kit. The result is an increased width at the front axle via the new mudguards as well as at the rear axle via massive new side walls. Wide side sills with swords connect the front and the rear.

In addition, the tuners added at the front completely bumper with lateral flaps and a spoiler sword. What is more, they gave the 650i the performance kidneys of the M6. Can you see the BMW logo on the motor cowl? Don’t look for it, because it was removed. Air escapes trough new special air outlets.

At the back, the 650i features entirely new design. This is a result of the addition of new rear bumper with integrated diffusor and a rear flap spoiler. This BMW model also received a new full coat of paint in mineral white metallic. In contrast, parts such as the front spoiler lip, the rear diffuser, the roof and the rear flap spoiler are painted in a glossy black.

The M&D BMW 650i runs on gold. Of course, not literally. The car got new glossy gold Rennen forged light-weight metal wheels. For the front, the size combination for the wheels and tyres is 10×21 inch and 255/30R21, while for the rear, it is 11.5×21 inch and 295/25R21. The rubbers are Continental Sport Contact 5.

The wheel rims cover red brake callipers. To further strengthen the athletic stance of the car, the tuners lowered its chassis with special sports springs. More importantly, the sporty spirit of the 650i was supported with optimization of its engine.

After a software optimization, the engine of the M&D BMW 650i now generates 510hp and 750Nm.

This happened via software, thus helping the vehicle reach 510 hp (375 kW) and a maximum torque of nearly 750Nm (554 lb-ft). The engine compartment was also visually improved. Its cover was painted in three colours: racing red, deep black and white.

The new sport exhaust system with two black-chrome-plated sharp, diagonally cut and slightly offset 80 mm end tubes each, as well as a pre-muffler replacement by X-Pipe ensure that the engine will produce better sound.

But the tuning does not end with the exterior. Inside, M&D also applied comprehensive improvements. BMW M-technology leather steering wheel was padded for better control and covered with Nappa, smooth & punched leather.

Furthermore, the steering wheel bracket and the switching rockers were painted in red. The same color was applied on the door openers and the start/stop button. The tuners refined the decorative strips in glossy black ad combined it with a red ornamental stripe.

  • Prior Design BMW 6-Series Aerodynamic-kit

Prior-Design-BMW-6-Series-thumbPrior-Design-BMW-6-Series-mediumIntroducing the Prior Design aerodynamic kit for the new BMW 6-series. It’s largely unnoticeable, we admit, but the good news is that aftermarket shops are slowly starting to integrate the BMW F12/F13 series.

Yes, close to 3000 Euros ($3,719) is a lot of money for a bunch of plastics with a fancy name (Dura-Flex). You get a Prior Design PD6 front bumper, a PD6 rear bumper and two PD6 side skirts and that’s it. No options, no nothing.

The BMW itslef on the other hand may have more to offer. If we are talking about the top of the range 650i, we get 407 hp generated from BMW‘s N63 V8 engine. That means an acceleration from a stand still to 100 km/h in just under 5 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h while the max torque is 600 Nm at 1750-4500. All impressive figures that deserve a more thourough treatment from aftermarket dealers. Hopefully, we are getting there.
