  • McLaren 570S Coupe M2B Edition is Formula 1 inspired anniversary car

McLaren 570S Coupe M2B Edition and The M2B Race CarCan you believe that it is 50 years since McLaren appeared for the first time at Formula 1 at the 1966 Monaco GP. And ever since then all models of the brand feature technology used in motorsport racing, in one way or another. Such example is the 570S Coupe, which is the first Sport Series road-legal model with its carbon fibre MonoCell II, carbon-ceramic brakes and Brake Steer technology all derived from the pinnacle of motorsport.

To celebrate these remarkable 50th years of success, the company has introduced the McLaren 570S Coupe M2B Edition, which is inspired on brand’s first Formula 1 car – the M2B. The festive 570S Coupe features the same livery as the M2B: central green stripe and silver edging.

SEE ALSO: McLaren F1 #069 Concours Condition exclusively for sale by MSO

Like all other McLarens, this 570S has been hand-built at the McLaren Production Centre (MPC). The build process started with the carbon fibre MonoCell II, which is an innovative passenger cell that forms the core of the 570S and is strong and stiff. It also contributes for 50kg less weight when compare to the aluminium and steel-based rivals.

1966 M2B Race Car and McLaren 570S Coupe M2B Edition

The M2B served as inspiration for another feature: the car-style double-wishbone suspension with adjustable dampers. Along with it, the 570S also gets Adaptive Dynamics Panel with three modes (Normal, Sport and Track), located in the centre of the luxurious hand-stitched leather interior.

McLaren 570S Coupe M2B Edition is driven by the 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 unit connected to a Shift Gearbox with rocker-shift controls. The engine produces 570PS (562bhp), helping the 570S to accelerate from 0-100kph (0-62mph) in just 3.2 seconds. The top speed has been electronically limited to 328kph (204mph).

The stopping power of the model is ensured by the carbon-ceramic brakes, which have been also derived from Formula 1. The advantage here is that they resist fade even under very hard utilization. In addition, the 570S also uses Brake Steer technology.

All in all, this 570S is the perfect example for what McLaren has always stood for, since the day of M2B’s debut in Monaco.

    Details About McLAREN 570S GT4

    McLaren 570S GT4 Rear View

570S GT4 is track-only and has the carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis architecture just like the other models in the Sports Series. The carbon material will provide not only inherent strength to car’s body but will also make it light in weight. Driver’s protection is secured by the FIA-approved rollcage and fire extinguisher system. Except for the architecture, carbon (and aluminum) has been used for the reprofiled bodywork. Cast magnesium alloy wheels shod with slick Pirelli racing tires carry this exclusives-looking body. Driving dynamics are ensured by the two-way adjustable motorsport dampers with coil-over springs at the front and the rear. The on-board air jacking system is fitted as standard.

The aerodynamic package is a must when it comes to focusing on the laptimes. Therefore the 570S GT4 is fitted with high level rear wing, mounted on aluminium pylons, a larger front splitter and reprofiled floor assembly. There is an additional front centre high temperature radiator, which sits below a GT3-inspired bonnet with radiator exit ducts, optimizing performance and cooling at the same time.

Carried over from the road-going Sports Series model is the engine, which is the 3.8-litre twin turbo V8. It is connected to a seven-speed seamless shift gearbox that drives the rear wheels.

McLaren 570S GT4 will be revealed at the opening of the British GT Championship at Brands Hatch, UK between 16th and 17th April. It has a starting price of £159,900. We do expect in the upcoming weeks additional details, pictures and pricing for the 570S.

Although the specifications of the engine haven’t been changed, it is still impressive. Here is why: the efficient 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 unit generates nothing less than 570PS (562bhp). This force accelerates this McLaren car from start to 100 km/h (62mph) in just 3.2 seconds. And note that the top speed is 328 km/h (204mph).

McLaren North America, along with brand’s exclusive distributor in Canada, Pfaff Automotive Partners announced pricing for the latest Mclaren Sports Series. Now, the focus is onto the 570S Coupe, that was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show in April: pure sports car, that brings incredible levels of performance and optimizations and the McLaren 540C, that is the most attainable McLaren yet and has the same genes, that models from Super Series and Ultimate Series have. Let’s see what do both models have to offer.

    Drivetrain system

Both models come with one of a kind carbon-fiber MonoCell II chassis, that deliver improved ingress and egress from the cabin. Furthermore, both models are powered from the rear wheels with a special seven-speed seamless shift transmission, that improves the overall performance: with this gearbox the 540C goes from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds, while the 570S completes the run in 3.2 seconds.

In fact, there are some more slight differences in the drivetrain system of the vehicles: the 540C is geared with twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine that produces a total of 540 hp (397 kW) and 540 Nm of torque. The top speed of the vehicle is 320 km/h (199 mph). On the other hand, the 57C comes with upgraded twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine that produces562 hp (419 kW) and 600 Nm of torque. And after the 3.2 sprint to the 100 km/h (62 mph) it can chase the top speed of 328 km/h (204 mph).

  • McLaren Reveals 570S Coupe One Day Ahead of Debut

McLaren 570S Coupe Front and Side ViewGreat News! McLaren has actually revealed the 570S Coupe a day before the start of the New York Auto Show. The first in the trilogy Sports Series family is typical for the brand due to its design cues and aggressive sports characteristics. At its heart this is a pure sports car. It has a layout optimized for the driver and shows spectacular performance.

It is no secret (given the name) that this McLaren will be capable of 570PS (562bhp). What’s not known however is the fact that it can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) in only 3.2 seconds, while the 200 km/h (124 mph) is covered in 9.5 seconds. The top speed stands at 328 km/h (204mph).

The other important fact about the 3.8-litre V8 twin turbo engine is that it includes 30 percent of bespoke components, specific to the model. Next to the 570PS at 7400 rpm, the car can also achieve 600Nm (443 lb-ft) of optimum torque at 5000-6000 rpm. This power is distributed to the rear wheels via seven-speed SSG transmission.

Furthermore, this coupe is actually the first one to carry a specific body-style, which will be then applied to the other vehicles in the Sports Series. Its great power characteristics are due to the bespoke aerodynamic package added to its bodywork.

The aero kit adds aero blades below the front bumper, huge bright LEDs in the headlights and in the blade rear lamps, sculpted bonnet, new design for the doors, aluminium rear fenders and a signature concave rear window. Also notice the twin exhausts exit below the rear bumper.

What we can’t see however is the brand new suspension system that utilizes adaptive dampers with front and rear anti-roll bars. Behind the Pirelli Zero Corsa tyres on the new alloys there are carbon ceramic brakes.

The minimized weight of the car due to the aero components and the carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis not only results in great performance, but also contributes towards fuel efficiency of 25.5mpg and CO2 emissions of 258g/km.

The cabin of every 570S features standard leather wrapped sports seats, dashboard and steering wheel, more stowage space and wide range of technology tweaks like the full infotainment system.

Additional details will be confirmed tomorrow after McLaren 570S debuts at the New York Auto Show.

  • McLaren Teases First Sports Series Model [VIDEO]

McLaren 570S Coupe What’s going on in McLaren’s garage? Pretty much everything since the company has just released a teaser image of a brand new upcoming model. The car is the first one that is going to be introduced to the Sports Series family and will be crowned 570S Coupe. Other official details are very pleasant to hear, because the 570S will be obviously powered by a V8 unit. Given the fact that we know the name of the car, we know its output and it is 570PS (562 hp or 420 kW).

We do not expect anything less than carbon fibre structure from this two seater and the same counts for its aerodynamic characteristics. Where we’ll see the car? There is no other place like New York, so the debut is scheduled to happen there.

McLaren will also show at the event its three tier model strategy. As a matter of fact, every Sports Series model will be endowed with the DNA typical for the Super Series and Ultimate Series. They are positioned very high in McLaren’s range of vehicles.

Other details about the teased car reveal that it will offer one-off performance, well-treated handling with better characteristics and exceptional driving dynamics. It will be equipped with new race-derived technologies that will influence future sports cars in the segment.

Fortunately, McLaren 570S Coupe will be revealed prior its reveal on 1st of April, so we don’t have to wait that much longer. Below you can see I vide wee found on YouTube, which shows some spy photos of the upcoming car. Enjoy!
