  • Have You Heard About 2016 Toyota Tacoma? It’s the Best Tacoma Ever!

2016 Toyota Tacoma Front View2016 Toyota Tacoma has surprised us with additions for the new model year, which are more than satisfactory. The car has been literally rebuilt, both in terms of interior and exterior. In addition, it also features new engine and enhanced suspension tuning. Regarded as the toughest and most durable pickup in the segment, the new generation Tacoma continues the legacy of the famous Toyota trucks. In fact, the company even says that this it’s the best Tacoma ever, inside and out.

    Tough and Rough

Tough and rough are two synonym words for the new generation Tacoma. The reason for this is that the frame has been reinforced with high strength steel and this has resulted in enhancing its rigidity. The same material was also integrated into the body shell. What is more, the suspension was fine-tuned to make sure that the ride is smoother on the road, while off-road it still offers more capability.

    Two Drivetrains

    2016 Toyota Tacoma V6 Engine

2016 Tacoma will be made available with two engines. The first one is the 2.7-liter DOHC four-cylinder with VVT-I, which produces 159 horsepower (117 kW) and 244 Nm (180 lb.-ft.) of torque at 4000 rpm. Its EPA fuel economy has been estimated 19/23/21 mpg city/highway/combined mpg for the 4×2 with an automatic transmission. The estimated fuel efficiency for the 4×4 with the manual and automatic transmission is 19/21/20 mpg and 19/22/20 mpg, respectively.

Tacoma can be also equipped with V6 powerplant. The unit is 3.5-liter Atkinson cycle with Variable Valve Timing with Intelligent Wider Intake equipped with Toyota’s D-4S technology. The latter features both direct and port fuel injection. The V6 generates 278 horsepower (204 kW) and 359 Nm (265 lb.-ft.) of torque at 4600 rpm. This is an increase of 42 horses over the previous V6. This engine achieves 19/24/21 mpg in the city/highway/combined cycles for the 4×2 automatic. The estimated mpg for the 4×4 manual is 17/21/19, while for the automatic is 18/23/20.

There is also a new six-speed automatic transmission with electronic shift delivering quick and easy shifting. Two other options are available for the V6 – the six-speed manual transmission and the four-cylinder – the five-speed manual.

The next great news is that if one equips the truck with the V6 Tow Package, the new Tacoma can tow up to 6,800 lbs. This is an impressive increase of 300 lbs. over the previous V6.

  • 2016 Toyota Tacoma to get new LED Running Lights?

The second teaser of 2016 Toyota Tacoma is here. We have seen already the back of the truck and now it is time to take a look at its front. The vehicle will be introduced officially at the North American International Auto Show on 12th of January. Probably this is when the full reveal will happen and we are not going to see anything else but teasers ahead of it. The new vehicle is expected to raise the bar again and take everything to a new level.

Details released by Toyota are extremely scarce. And although it is a single image shared, it tells a lot. First, the grille – it is hexagonal and outlined in chrome. Next – the intake is positioned below the grille and visually connects the fog lights.

We continue with the most exclusive element of the front design which is the lights. The truck received brand new headlights that obviously feature LED running lights.

In terms of performance we expect that the Japanese company is to set a new benchmark for midsize pickups. There is no information on powertrain but rumors say that it is a brand new one, specifically developed for the Tacoma. What we are sure of is that the new pickup-truck will have a 4×4 driving configuration.

We also assume that the new model will look like all the new midsize trucks, especially like the TRD Pro Series. Stay tuned, because Toyota has promised to release more information on the 2016 Tacoma very soon.

  • Toyota Teases 2016 Tacoma

2016-Toyota-Tacoma-THUMBToyota will roll out the 2016 Tacoma model at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The event will start on 12th of January and this is where we will get more details around the vehicle since they are extremely scarce. What the Japanese company has just told us is that the new vehicle will raise the bar again and take everything to the next level.

2016 Tacoma is readied to set new benchmark for midsize pickups … in terms of performance. Thanks to its heritage of confident capability and unbreakable attitude, this new model promises more off-road prowess than ever!

The teaser image released along the minute information, tells us also very little. We see the Tacoma “bathing” in mud. We can actually see only the tailgate of the truck and the left taillight. The new Tacoma will also feature its name on the tailgate as well as the signification that it has 4×4 driving configuration.

We assume the new model will look like all the new midsize trucks, especially like those recently introduced TRD Pro Series. At last, there will be two key pickup trucks to be unveiled. Next to the 2016 Tacoma, Detroit will also celebrate the introduction of the powerful 2016 Nissan Titan.

    The adventure has just begun.
