  • Nissan reveals Drowsy Driving Awarness System

Nissan Driver Alert SystemRight in time for the “Drowsy Driving Awareness Day”, Nissan reveals the Driver Attention Alert (DAA), that will be available on two of the brands best eye-catchers: the 2015 Murano crossover and the anticipated 2016 Maxima sedan. Actually, the drowsy driving has been the main subject for a long time for the National Highway Transportation Safety Association and the American Automobile Association. Sadly, there are more than 300,000 crashes a year, that include drowsy and inattentive drivers.

The system is already in the standard pack of the 2015 Murano SL. The DAA  adapts to the driver and monitors the steering and reaction input, which makes a further statistic about the each individual driver and uses that baseline for detecting unusual driver behavior.

The DAA uses technology, that detects road curves, lane changes and even the road conditions. It turns off automatically, when the engine is turned off, but anyone can manually reset it, if desired. In fact, the DAA system only warns the driver, when it notices any lack of attention and cannot control the car. As we know, it is the drivers responsibility to drive safely, not the system.

The revised 2016 Nissan Maxima was shown at the New York International Auto Show and it is planned to go on sale this summer. The other model, the 2015 Murano, is already available for purchase worldwide.

Along with the wonderful safety systems both models stand out to show beautiful styling, that includes the signature V-Motion front end, boomerang lightning and floating roof appearance.

  • Is Nissan Maxima Going to Give you the Maximum?

2016 Nissan Maxima Side ViewAfter a strong advertisement campaign, the new Maxima was finally revealed in New York. The car is totally redesigned and in my opinion is stunning. And yes, I do definitely expect the best from this four door sports car. Let’s see why. Dramatic styling is the other name of Maxima since there is literally nothing else like this in the present automotive scene. As a matter of fact, the exterior of this car as well as its driving characteristics has been created by enthusiasts with the aim to deliver uniqueness in the segment of large sedans.

The first reason for this is the application of Nissan‘s new design language. In particular, it comprises of a V-Motion front end, boomerang lights, very tiny C-pillars and this feeling of a “floating roof”. Stepping inside, one looses their selves in luxury. Here we have bespoke interior with an emphasis on driver’s cockpit.

Under the hood of this sports sedan is positioned the 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 engine. You won’t find it in any other car, since it has been also modified and includes more than 60% new parts. Xtronic transmission with wider ratio has been linked to the engine.

The output is rated at 300 horsepower (220 kW), but this does not sacrifice on fuel economy, which by the way is expected to be improved by 15%, meaning EPA estimated 30 miles per gallon. Superb, isn’t it?

Next, there are a lot of new technology standards set with this new Nissan. The Maxima is filled with goodies like the NissanConnectSM with navigation and 8.0-inch touch-screen display, as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio and Travel Link. In addition, the instrument cluster gets a 7.0-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display (ADAD).

Safety and security is ensured via the Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) and Blind Spot Warning (BSW) features. For an additional protection, the Japanese company offers also the Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system.

2016 Maxima will be offered in five trim levels. The starting price begins at $32,410 USD. What more could we want?

  • All-new 2016 Nissan Maxima Officially Confirmed

Following the 90 – second Super Bowl commercial which we showed you just a few days ago, Nissan has now confirmed that the vehicle that was spotted right before the end of the video is actually the long-awaited Nissan Maxima.

Despite the so many attempts conducted by the automaker to reveal as scarce information as possible (or not to reveal anything at all), the automotive – world enthusiasts have finally received a stable “yes” from Nissan, answering the countless questions which were circling around the new vehicle. Now in order to stabilize our shaken thoughts, there are two official images revealed, finally showing 2016 Nissan Maxima.

Nevertheless, the new Maxima could not surprise anyone. From what we can see, it looks very similar to the Sport Sedan Concept which was displayed last year. And this is not really something unexpected. The flowing lines form a smooth and simple shape. There is, though, a pinch of assertiveness that underscores the overall appearance of the car.

Among the things that are missing from the picture is the information about the power unit. If we base our expectations on the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept, Nissan Maxima could be fitted with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, matched to a CVT and generating 260 HP (194 kW) minimum.

The premiere of the Nissan Maxima is going to be during the New York Auto Show in April.

  • Nissan Previews 2016 Maxima in Super Bowl Ad [VIDEO]

Cheeky Nissan has managed to trick us in terms of the new Maxima. When we got our first look at the concept version of the next-generation Nissan, the automaker refused to confirm that this was actually it! While now the truth came out. In a 2015 Super Bowl commercial, the manufacturer teased us with a glimpse of the vehicle in question.

Nissan is staying tight-lipped and still hasn’t revealed any specific information about its 2016 Nissan Maxima but judging from the touching and full-of-emotion “With Dad” ad, which came out during last night’s Super Bowl, the new sedan implements the latest language design. From what we can see, the exterior of the vehicle is an amalgamation of a healthy dose of audacity and ambitiousness which perfectly match the stylish look of the Maxima.

From a mechanical standpoint, the car is supposed to be fitted with a V6 3.5-liter engine that is capable of producing at least 260 HP (194 kW). Yet, nothing has been officially confirmed so far, so we will have to wait little bit longer until that happens.

As if trying to compensate the lack of information, Nissan introduced its seductive and aggressively-looking GT-R LM Nismo in the short video too.  The racer will take part in the LMP1 class at Le Mans.

Have a look at the commercial and share your opinion regarding the highly-anticipated Nissan Maxima.
