  • Shanghai Meets Lexus ES and RX Models

    Lexus ES Side ViewThe next news regarding Auto Shanghai is about two Lexus’ models: the RX 200t and the ES luxury sedan. The first one was displayed in the turbo-engine form and precisely, it will be driven by the 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The unit includes VVT-iW intelligent/wide variable valve-timing, a low-inertia turbocharger and an air-to-liquid intercooler. This makes the RX capable of producing 225 hp (165 kW).

    There is a second engine choice for the RX: the 3.5-litre V6 petrol one, which will be mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This unit will be responsible for the 300 hp output. At last, the range is rounded-out by the full hybrid version of the RX, which will utilize an Atkinson cycle 3.5 V6, together with an electric motor, delivering the same horsepower.

    On the other hand, the updated ES model currently wows the public in Shanghai with its elegant and progressive styling package, luxury interior and innovative Safety System +.

    To go into details, the refreshed ES features company’s unique spindle grille in satin chrome to LED headlights, L-shaped DRLs, fog lamps positioned at the outer lower corners, new taillight design with L-shaped theme and a chrome-tipped rectangular exhaust. In addition, the ES runs on 17-inch alloys that perfectly complement the new exterior color.

    Inside the enhanced cabin one sees a brand new instrument panel, refreshed new steering wheel, 4.2-inch TFT display and versatile color combinations which deliver a sense of elegance. The colors for the seats for instance include Topaz Brown, Ivory, Moonstone and Black. In addition, there are three interior trims: Piano Black, Bamboo and Shimamoku.

    Like the RX, the ES is powered by refined 3.5-litre V6 petrol and hybrid powertrains. Both models will also get updated handling and sound-reducing layer behind the dashboard.

  • Redesigned Lexus RX Makes debut at NYIAS

    Once again, Lexus takes the boundaries of luxury and capability to set them even further with the 2016 RX. As you know, the previous model, the 2015 RX is the best selling vehicle for the brand’s 26-year history. The 2015 RX recreated the meaning of luxury, just to be defined one more time with the almighty 2016 RX version.

    The RX makes a powerful impression with the striking design that includes metal sheets, completely redesigned spindle grille, L-Shaped LED lamps and overall more aggressive front side. The character adds even more dynamics, thanks to the blackened-out C-pillars. They actually create the beautiful illusion of floating roofline. How cool is that?

    The wheels are larger, exactly measured at 20-inch. This brings style and stability never seen before. The rear side of the RX is somehow sharpened and brings the feel of solidness. Further design wonders bring the LED L-shaped taillights that make the vehicle even wider. And the dual exhaust pipes bring the finish to the premium look and feel to the RX.

    The interior is crafted with style and precision. It is elegant and brings high levels of comfort. There is a 12.3-inch monitor and a heads-up display, which projects information on the windshield. The rear seats are especially designed for even bigger comfort. They come with extended area for the legs and knees. There are even additional 11.6-inch screens to keep you in the mood.

    And now, the very special part. The  RX 350 powerplant is upgraded and more powerful than ever. It is a 3.5-Liter V6 system brings 300hp (220 kW) with direct injection for even better reaction. You will deal with an engine especially built for incredible fuel economy and an 8-speed auto transmission. And, of course this titanic power comes with improved handling system. You will feel the pleasure and reliability with all the technology, implied in the handling system.

    There is a Vehicle Stability Control system included and a special suspension to bring you that smooth driving experience. And all that power and reliability comes with an incredible safety system. You get the Pre-Collision System, an LDA, AHB, PVM and many other technology tweaks, that make sure the driver and passengers had that wonderful smooth and save drive.

  • Have a Glimpse at the Next Gen Lexus RX [VIDEO]

    2016 Lexus RX TeaserThe original Lexus RX was launched seventeen years ago and this was also the time when it redefined the automotive industry with its luxury characteristics for a mid-size utility vehicle. Now it is somehow normal to a priori perceive SUVs as luxury cars. The good news is that the RX model has continued its presence during the years and its next generation version of the 2016 model year is near debut. Lexus announced that the vehicle will be revealed at the auto show in New York on 1st of April.

    Next to the announcement, the company also released a teaser image and a video to promote the future premiere. The short film is pretty expressive and gives a glimpse of the “full volume” luxury that the new RX will incarnate. This is very promising and imbues us with the thrills to expect the best.

    In addition, below you will find a lightened version of the picture above so you can see more details. Judging from it, it looks like the fourth generation RX has been entirely redesigned. It appears to be sleeker and closer to the ground, and in fact – to have this sedan-like stance.

    At the rear we see completely different taillights from the outgoing model as well as more prominent wheel arches. At last, the slim stance creates a flow-like impression that is further emphasized by the lower roofline, thin door handles and angular design.
