  • 2015 Lexus NX 300h is Rich in New Technologies

Lexus-NX-300h-THUMB2015 Lexus NX 300h is rich in new technologies for driver information, control and on-board entertainment. The new SUV features the first Lexus use of a wireless phone charging tray, G-Monitor and 360-degree Panoramic View system. In addition, another first is the in-car use of ClariFi technology which enhances the music reproduction from compressed digital files. ClariFi also features Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system. The new technology features will defintely make life on board easier, better informed and more enjoyable. NX 300h has a full hybrid powertrain and includes advanced safety and handling systems.

The passengers in the crossover can recharge their smartphones by placing them in a special charging tray located handily between the front seats. And there is no need for a cable connection. The tray comes as a standard with the F Sport and Premier models and is an option in the NX 300h Luxury.

Panoramic View Monitor is a no-cost-option on the NX 300h Premier, thus giving the drivers better reassurance, especially when moving in confined spaces, on or off-road, at speeds up to 12mph (20km/h). An ECU positioned behind the C-pillar monitors input from four interconnected cameras located on the door mirrors, front grille and rear trim.

Then, it processes the images and relays them to the audio and navigation display monitor in a range of seven sequences. The display allows the driver to see the obstacles that would remain concealed in blind spots.

This technology works together with the parking assist system and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It finds obstacles coming from either side in the driver’s blind spot when reversing out of a parking space.

The next technology is the Remote Touch Interface touchpad on the centre console. It includes features such as the climate control, audio and navigation. NX 300h F Sport is fitted with Lexus’s first G-force sensors, called the G-Monitor. It sends live data to the multi-information display.

At last, 2015 Lexus NX 300h Premier is also equipped as a standard with Mark Levinson Premium Surround System with Clari-fi. The 14-speaker Premium Surround Sound System is the first in-car package to uutilize the Clari-fi. The latter reproduces sound from digital sources, enhancing the quality of music sourced from compressed digital files. The Mark Levinson system package includes a 12-channel Class D amplifier and new Unity technology that places 9cm speakers at each end of the instrument panel.

  • 2015 Lexus NX Redefines SUV Design

2015 Lexus NXLexus is redefining SUV’s design with its new NX, which has characteristics more typical to sportscars than slab-sided 4x4s. The model has muscular curves and agile angles that perfectly exemplify the development of Lexus’s L-finesse contemporary design language. The exterior features a low, sloping roofline, a cab-forward silhouette and flared wheel arches. The defining bodywork lines flow directly from the signature Lexus spindle grille.

One of the most striking features of the exterior of the car is that it looks like made from a single piece of metal. Lexus actually poured molten metal over the die. The next thing that grabs the attention is the grille flanked by new LED headlamps and daytime running lights. This forms the distinctive “face” of the NX.

Furthermore, the C-pillar has a wide angle to optimize internal storage width. The crouched look is linked to the NX’s good ramp-over angle performance, while the high point of the roof ensures more headroom for rear passengers.

The design of the exterior is also made in such way so that it can achieve the perfect balance between distinctive design and aerodynamic efficiency. The rear spoiler ensures smooth flow of air away from the back of the vehicle. In fact, the extensive wind tunnel testing revealed that the best results came from giving the leading edge of the fin an upturned lip.

The door mirrors and handles have air-cheating design. It features concealed key barrel and integrated single-LED illumination. Beneath the car, away from the direct sight, the designers added undercovers and spats to deliver clean airflow.

Inside, the cabin offers ample space for everyone. Its front-to-rear couple distance of 962 mm and the high roof design provides exceptional head clearance. What is more, the rear knee room is even greater than in some larger SUV models.

More space is also offered in the luggage area. The maximum loadspace width is 1,347mm. More storage space is accessible under the luggage board, taking the total luggage capacity to 555 litres in hybrid versions and 580 litres in the turbo petrol.

There are also various storage points around the cabin. For instance such are the glove and console boxes, a console tray, utility box, sunglasses hold, cup holders and door pocket holders for half-litre bottles.

The new hybrid NX 300h will be available for order now. Next year Lexus will introduce the NX 200t model, which will adopt Lexus’s new 2.0-litre petrol turbo engine.

  • 2015 Lexus NX 300h SUV To Score Five Stars Via Green Vehicle Guide

Lexus-NX-300h-THUMB2015 Lexus NX 300h SUV is anticipated to achieve top efficiency. In other words it is expected to score five stars via the current Green Vehicle Guide (GVG). This means that the NX 300h has to consume as little as 5.6 l per 100 km on the combined cycle, while the emissions has to be as low as 131 g of CO2 per kilometer. These numbers for the All-Wheel Drive models are the following: fuel consumption at 5.7 litres/per 100 km, and CO2 emissions at 133 g. Receiving the top ratings will make the NX 300h sitting atop all of its category rivals.

The reason for these numbers is the combination of the efficient 2.5-litre four cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine with an electric motors. They both produce 197 horsepower (145 kW) in total. The AWD models will utilize an additional electric motor at the rear. In this way they will form part of Lexus‘ innovative E-Four AWD system.

This system will make its debut on Lexus RX hybrid models. It will enable the rear wheels to be driven solely by electric power, thus removing the need for a mechanical link to the rear of the vehicle and associated losses due to friction.

Furthermore, the hybrid drivetrains will be coupled with an efficient CVT transmission. It includes a six-step sequential shift with new kick-down transmission logic. Furthermore, the NX will be the first model to be fitted with Lexus’s Pre-Crash Safety system and Adaptive Cruise Control as standard.

Other innovations in the NX include a wireless charging tray for easy charging of mobile phones and other devices and the first application of a new Remote Touch Interface with a touchpad control. As an option Lexus has provided the convenience of Panoramic View Monitor, a comprehensive multi-information display, head-up display, blind spot monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
