  • 2015 Shelby Super Snake with 750HP is What We Have Been Waiting For!

2015 Shelby Super Snake Front and Side View2015 Shelby Super Snake has returned and it is more vigorous than ever! Based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT, the legendary Snake is now 750HP strong. The other enhancements included are to the handling, braking and cooling of the famous pony car. What is more, it will be the first Super Snake to be offered with an automatic transmission.

The perfect basis for this new project is the latest Mustang from the 2015 model year, which rides on sophisticated new independent rear suspension, and is powered by a potent V8 engine connected to a slick shifting six speed transmission. Another interesting fact for the new model is that it was designed for the first time for international markets.

    Performance

    2015 Shelby Super Snake's Engine

Shelby American has tuned and modified key aspects the iconic muscle car by giving it better handling and more power. On top of the standard V8, Shelby has added performance suspension components and a throaty Borla exhaust at no additional cost.

SEE ALSO: Meet the Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake!

Available features include a more powerful supercharger, as well as a better performing intercooler and heat exchanger system. They have been all designed to generate more than 750 horsepower on pump gas.

In addition, it will be the first Super Snake available with an automatic transmission. The standard option is Mustang GT’s six-speed manual.

This power is transmitted onto the new 20-inch WELD Racing Super Snake wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, behind which we see seat-belt-tightening-six-piston Wilwood brakes.

    Exterior & Interior

In terms of aesthetics, the car carries the signature Super Snake striping. It also features carbon fiber hood with a forced-air scoop plus and a wide range of other aerodynamic enhancements like the larger rear spoiler for example.

On the other hand, the interior includes special badging, upgraded badged upholstery, floor mats and a very cool three-gauge dash pod.

    Pricing

2015 Shelby Super Snake will be produced in only 300 units. Each car will have a starting price of $49,995 USD and this does not include the base Ford Mustang GT.

  • Ford Starts Shipping 2015 Mustang Convertible to Dealerships

2015-Mustang-Convertible-THUMBThe keys of the first produced 2015 Ford Mustang Convertibles will be in customers’ hands very, very soon. We are talking about those who live in United States, because the company has just began shipping the pony cabrio car to dealerships nationwide. The Mustangs will come with heated seats and remote start and selectable drive modes with a snow/wet setting. This comes exactly for winter time and cold weather, and this car is the perfect present for Christmas. In my opinion … at least.

Heated seats also have a cooling feature. But owners will have to wait until temperatures go little higher. Unlike them, the remote start is standard only on the automatic-transmission models. This feature allows customers to fire up their drop-top from the comfort of their home. When one uses the remote start, the Mustang not only warms up its engine, but also warms the interior of the car to a comfortable temperature.

There are also selectable drive modes that come as a standard on premium Mustang models. It includes a wet/snow setting. It tweaks throttle response, steering effort and traction control in order to “soften” the wheel spin and maximize vehicle control.

This year the Mustang model celebrates 50 years of its birth. Since its debut in 1964 more than 9.2 million Mustang models have been sold. Now, Ford is offering the musclecar with even more options to choose from.

The car, be it in a fastback or a convertible form, can be powered by an upgraded V8, 3.7-liter V6 or a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. The first one is offered only for the Mustang GT and now produces 435 horsepower (320 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb.-ft.) of torque, while the V6 generates 300 horsepower (221 kW).

The new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine uses direct injection, variable cam timing and a twin-scroll turbocharger to offer an output of 310 horsepower (228 kW) and 434 Nm (320 lb.-ft.) of torque. 2015 Ford Mustang is turning on dealership lots in eight days.

  • John Hennessey Test Drives Stock 2015 Mustang GT up to 150 mph [VIDEO]

2015-Hennessey-Ford-Mustang-GT-THUMBRemember the Hennessey Performance Ford Mustang GT HPE700? Well, if you do than you will be satisfied to see the video below. In it John Hennessey test drives the stock 2015 Mustang GT up to 150 mph. Stock baseline dyno testing was also performed. Hennessey’s 717 horsepower supercharged 2015 Ford Mustang has firepower to battle the Corvette Z06 or the SRT Hellcat! And this makes it the most powerful Mustang currently on the market. And also the fastest!

The car with superpowers runs from 0 to 100 km/h in mere 3.6 seconds. Key to that are not only the 717 hp (527 kW), but also the torque, which is 856 Nm (632 lb-ft) at 4400 rpm. Helping the Coyote V8 breathe more deeply is a high-flow throttle body and stainless-steel exhaust system.

Upgraded injectors and fuel pumpfeed the V8, but this happens under the command of the proprietary engine management calibration. More personalization and performance can be achieved with the optional CarbonAero carbon-fiber bodywork. The pack includes front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser and rear lip spoiler.

Available are also the 20-inch Hennessey H10 wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport 2 tires, behind the spokes of which we see Brembo brake package with 15.1-in. front rotors. With this package Mustang gets better downforce, corneing and braking.

Great news is also that Hennessey announced a 2.3-liter EcoBoost-powered Mustang, which is under development. Note that only 500 units of the HPE700 will be produced. The pricing starts at $59,500 USD.

  • 50-Year Limited Edition 2015 Ford Mustang at Ford Championship Weekend

The sixth generation 2015 Ford Mustang appeared right in time for the golden anniversary celebration of the monumental pony car. The 50-Year Limited Edition 2015 Ford Mustang will serve the role as a pace car for Ford Championship weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, between November 14th and November 16th. This is really exciting and special because this Mustang is based on the 50-Year model which is actually limited at just 1,964 units.

Specifically, the muscle car will be powered by 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine and will lead the field to the green flag for the Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on November 16th, 2014 and the Ford EcoBoost 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on November 15th, 2014. The pace car will be driven by Mark Fields, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company.

Furthermore, there are also going to be some other vehicles which will take part in the races. For instance, the Wimbledon White ’Stang will be joined by the Race Red Mustang GT. It gains its power from a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine that produces 435 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Two other engines, a 3.7-liter V6 and 2.3-liter EcoBoost which generate more than 300 hp, will also be available when the car is distributed to showrooms later this year. The 2015 Mustang GT comes with a number of new features such as an all-new state-of-the-art front suspension and an independent rear suspension that is exclusively designed for this new platform and car.

Another addition will be a pair of all-new 2015 Ford F-150 pickup trucks. They will pace the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami on November 15.

  • King Cobra Parts Package for 2015 Ford Mustang GT Depicted at Sema Show

There is no question that the newly built 2015 Ford Mustang GT with exclusive Ford Racing performance parts is one of the most striking hits at this year’s Sema Show. What is the best part about it? Since it is built with the initial idea to be a high-performance street-and-drag strip car, the King Cobra can be duplicated by anyone who owns Mustang with the help, of course, of Ford Racing’s extensive parts catalog.

As usual, Ford once again has pushed the boundaries of its productivity and has achieved some spectacular results with the King Cobra package for Mustang GT. The car is equipped with Ford Racing’s “Drag Pack,” “Handling Pack,” and “Super Pack” supercharger kit that helps the King Cobra produce about 200 hp more than Mustang GT’s 435 hp.

Nevertheless, the most important component of the Super Pack is the 2.3L Twin Vortices Series (TVS) supercharger assembly which is a product of the cooperative work between Ford Racing and ROUSH Performance. In combination with the supercharger, there is a six-rib belt drive system, air inlet system, electronic throttle body, fuel rail, high-flow fuel injectors, intake manifold, complete air-to-liquid intercooler system and, last but not least, Ford Racing performance computer calibration.

On top of this, there is the scale-filled cobra-skin paint contours which are synonym for originality and creativity. With the black, gold, and red shades that fade into one another, the wow-factor is pretty obvious. 2015 Ford Mustang GT King Cobra, then, is bold, stunning and, really, one of a kind!

  • Measuring Powers: 2015 Ford Mustang GT vs 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Attention please! Let me present to you the clash of the titans; the battle of the 2015 Muscle Cars; the wrath of engines; the power-measuring between 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE and 2015 Ford Mustang GT! This is not a movie. This is the ultimate rivalry and desire for supremacy.

The rivalry between Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro is perhaps older than the Universe. Ok, not that old but slightly older than our plant. Well, maybe I exaggerated a bit too much but the important thing is that you got the point. Nevertheless, with the modern-day enhancements the two vehicles have never been functioning better than now. Both the 2015 Camaro SS and the recent 2015 Mustang GT pull out more than 420 HP and have 6-speed manual transmissions. But which one is the winner of this race? (I’m not going to spoil it for you right away and say it is the 2015 Camaro… Oops. I just did it.)

When you put the Camaro and the Mustang side by side it is probably more than just obvious enough to spot who is going to be the wolf and who is going to be the sheep. Or is it…? Exceeding in almost every feature and characteristics, 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS is expected to eat up the 2015 GT. Yet, many of the Ford fans still kept their hopes up for the next generation Mustang was introduced with an independent rear suspension setup that would improve the handling and had a little more horsepower than that of the Camaro.

    httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTJPDurLEKw

In order to see if the improvements on the Ford Mustang will help it win, Motor Trend set the two cars through the paces to show which would demonstrate better time.

In the video we see Carlos Lago who continues to compare the two cars. The first one to be tested is the Ford Mustang GT. Despite the fact that it loses (not really surprising after all), the muscle car shows some spectacular results too. It is slightly faster than the Camaro – and it covers ¼ miles in 12.8 seconds at 112.2 mph while the Chevy accomplishes its ¼ mile in 12.9 seconds at 110.5 mph. Just like the winner, though, the GT braking performance hits 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. As for the figure eight, the Camaro beats its opponent with the final result of 24.5 seconds at 0.87g (avg).

My personal favorite though is the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro. It burns with tight and strong power and it also has really good turning and balance-management at a high speed performance. It is pulling some serious leading characteristics there! Mustang is less track-focused and it lacks the high level of stability that the Chevrolet hits us with. The latter is really kind of what you want and expect out of such car.

  • Hennessey Supercharges 2015 Ford Mustang GT with 717 HP

2015-Hennessey-Ford-Mustang-GT-THUMBHennessey Performance has made an HPE700 Supercharged Upgrade for the 2015 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8. Only 500 units will be built for the model year 2015, making the vehicle a limited Edition. What is more, thanks to the refinement, the Mustang is now capable of delivering 717 horsepower, meaning that it can finally battle Chevy’s Corvette Z06 and Dodge’s SRT Hellcat. In fact, with this project, the tuners are offering a 2015 Mustang that will outperform some of the fastest cars currently offered, but at a lower price point.

Key to that 717 hp (527 kW) and the 856 Nm (632 lb-ft) of torque at 4400 rpm is the Roots-type high-helix supercharger packing 7.25 psi of boost. • 2015 Ford Mustang GT Gets Performance Pack

Ford-Mustang-GT-with-Performance-Pack-HUMB2015 Ford Mustang GT will get a performance pack next to the inherent fully independent front and rear suspension systems. The sixth-generation model has lighter body in comparison to the previous version. This was achieved via wide use of advanced technologies and materials such as hydroforming, laser welding and high-strength steels. For instance, lightweight aluminum was utilized for the hood and front fenders. This not only minimizes body mass but also enhances weight balance. The structure of the 2015 Mustang includes other components also made of aluminum that include rear suspension knuckles, rear axle housing on automatic transmission cars, rear control arms and rear brake calipers.

Every 2015 model of this muscle car includes new integral-link independent rear suspension. It has an architecture that is based on a lower control arm, integral link, upper camber link and a toe link. The geometry, springs, dampers and bushings have all been specifically modified and tuned to deliver enhances mechanical grip for high-performance results. Furthermore, the new double-ball-joint front MacPherson strut system allows for larger, more powerful brakes without resorting to excessive wheel offsets that would hurt steering feel.

Three brake packages are available for the new Mustang. The first one is the Mustang V6 for the Mustang EcoBoost which adds two-piston, 43-millimeter floating calipers, 320- millimeter rotors, front; single-piston, 45-millimeter calipers, 320-millimeter rotors. The second one is the Mustang EcoBoost performance pack for the Mustang GT, which includes four-piston, 46-millimeter fixed calipers, 352-millimeter rotors, front; single-piston, 45-millimeter calipers, 330-millimeter rotors. And the last one is the Mustang GT performance pack. It adds six-piston, 36-millimeter Brembo calipers, 380-millimeter rotors, front; single-piston, 45-millimeter calipers, 330-millimeter rotors.

Ford is also offering the option of performance pack that can be added to the Mustang EcoBoost fastback and convertible or Mustang GT fastback. Both performance packs get retuned springs, bushings and monotube rear dampers, additional cooling capability for track-day durability, thicker rear sway bar, K-brace connecting strut towers, tuned ABS, electronic stability control and electric power-assisted steering and center gauge pack.

Specifically, the EcoBoost performance package features four-piston front brakes with 46-millimeter fixed aluminum calipers with 352-millimeter rotors. Single-piston rear brakes with 45-millimeter floating iron calipers with 330-millimeter rotors, 9×9-inch alloy wheels painted Ebony Black and fitted with Pirelli 255/40R19 Y-speed-rated tires.

Next, the 2015 Mustang GT performance package benefits from six-piston Brembo front brakes with 36-millimeter fixed aluminum calipers with 380-millimeter rotors, single-piston rear brakes with 45-millimeter floating iron calipers with 330-millimeter rotors. This enhanced Mustang rides on 19×9-inch Ebony Black painted alloy wheels with Pirelli 255/40R19 Y-speed-rated tires at the front, and 19×9.5-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli 275/40R19 Y-speed-rated tires at the rear. There is also a strut tower brace, 3.73:1 final drive ratio with Torsen differential as well as front splitter to channel cooling air to the front brakes.

  • 2015 Ford Mustang GT – Electronic Burnout Control System [video]

Ford US has won my heart with their latest technology called Electronic Burnout Control System. This is probably the best feature that car can have and will make you smile all day long, especially if you are behind the steering wheel of an all-new 2015 Ford Mustang GT.

The Electronic Burnout Control System is essentially a line-lock, which keeps the front brakes locked while releasing the rear brakes. The driver can hit the accelerator to do a burnout without having to balance one foot on the brake and the other on the gas. This also protects your rear brake pads and the clutch.

Of course, the spectacular system is  “intended for use only on racetracks”. The 2015 Mustang GT is powered by the upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine – 420HP (310 kW) and 530 Nm (390 lb-ft).

“We’re using advanced controls technology for the all-new Mustang to provide some of our most dedicated fans with an industry-first feature they can use when they go to the track. With electronic line-lock, customers who drive their Mustangs to work all week and then compete on the weekends will appreciate not having to modify their brake systems to be able to do effective tire prep at the drag strip.”, commented Mustang Chief Engineer Dave Pericak.

    Enjoy!

  • Ford Auctions First 2015 Mustang GT For $300,000

2015-Ford-Mustang-GT-First-Unit-shadow2015-Ford-Mustang-GT-First-Unit-medium-1Last week we talked about the Barret-Jackson sale where the rights to buy the first production Camaro COPO for 2014 and the first Z/28 were auctioned off. However, there were even more production firsts that went under the hammer. Car collector and North Texas Ford dealer, Sam Pack signed a $300,000 check after placing a winning bid for the first retail production 2015 Ford Mustang GT. Yikes.

It’s not just money spent for bragging rights though. A part of the sum goes to the JDRF charity, a leading diabetes research organisation that has been endorsed from Ford since 1983. Mr Pack will also have the benefit to peruse the options list and customize the GT to his liking. He can choose any colour scheme he fancies for the inside and outside, and he can go with either a manual or an automatic. (fingers crossed for stick). Oh, and the design team will sign the car as an act of appreciation of the donation to JDRF.

The 2015 Ford Mustang brandishes a throaty V8 that turns out “more than” 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. It also doesn’t fall behind in terms of connectivity and ease of use. And by that we mean launch control – for that exquisite off-the-line start. A pony that actually doesn’t want to destroy it’s tires. Who would have thought?

  • 2015 Ford Mustang Debut

    2015-Ford-Mustang-shadow2015-Ford-Mustang-medium

After Chevrolet’s jab yesterday about how the Camaro is thrashing the Mustang in terms of sales, Ford delivers a hasty comeback. It’s a brand new pony! The 2015 Ford Mustang got unveiled today simultaneously in six cities across four continents.

How do we know it’s a Mustang? Well, the press release says so, but also just look at it. It is a modern reinterpretation of a classic shape: a long hood and a short behind, still low, and still sloping at the back. So not many surprises on the outside then.

What did shock us a bit, however, was the fact that it will now be available with a 2,3-liter EcoBoost. Never thought that you can put “Eco” and “Mustang” in one sentence. But because of some clever engineering (variable cam timing, a special intake manifold and turbocharger housing) you expect around 305 hp and 407 Nm of torque which is pretty decent to say the least. Of course, purists can still refer to the 5.0-liter V8 engine that goes all the way up to 420 hp and 529 Nm of torque. An automatic gearbox with paddle shifters is available as an option.

The good news is that whatever power grade you get, you will be able to put it to good use. The 2015 Mustang has an all-new suspension system. The front gets treated with a new perimeter subframe that stiffens the front structure yet remains lighter than its predecessors. The back axle is mounted on an integral-link independent suspension. The geometry, springs, dampers and bushings all have been specifically modified and tuned for high-performance cornering. Aluminum knuckles help reduce the curb weight. All Mustang GT models in Europe will come as standard with 19-inch wheels and performance brake packages.

It’s not just the materials used that are clever, but the nervous system that operates them as well. There are different modes selectable from the plane cockpit-inspired cabin. Thus you can adjust the throttle response, steering feedback, and transmission and ESC behaviour to your taste. There’s torque vectoring for the wheels and the manual transmission GT Mustangs have launch control which should be loads of fun on the track. Optional conveniences include the 8-inch navigation system accompanied by a 12-speaker sound system.
