  • 2015 Peugeot RCZ R Bimota with a Special Paintwork

A new range-topping version of the Peugeot RCZ R has been introduced at Motor Bike Expo in Verona, Italy. The French sports car is titled Peugeot RCZ R Bimota Special Edition, and as it becomes obvious from the name, it is the result of the collaborative work between the automaker and the well-known bike maker Bimota.

From a mechanical standpoint, the new RCZ R Bimota has been equipped with an upgraded variant of the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. Its initial 266 HP has been developed to 300 HP thanks to the installation of a custom exhaust system along with a refined bypass valve for the turbocharger.

But there are other changes beyond those of the engine as well. For instance, the car also arrives with revised brakes which now have four-piston calipers and 380 mm discs. In order to promise more than just fine handling, 2015 Peugeot RCZ R Bimota Special Edition benefits from a new suspension that has been dropped by 10 mm.

Visually, the Bimota Edition can be immediately distinguished due to its special paintwork that incorporates black, red and white colors borrowed from Bimota’s race bikes. HID headlights and black multi-spoke alloy wheels with contrasting red elements adorn the car on the outside too.

Alterations continue inside for the cabin now is spruced up with more leather and Alcantara upholstery on the steering wheel and the dashboard. There are red bezels around the gauges and the air vents as well as an installed TomTom Bridge infotainment system. The latter is controlled by a seven-inch screen. Last but not least, there are two GoPro cameras mounted in the headliner.

  • Renault Kadjar – Weird Name and an Adventurous Experience

Today Renault revealed that very soon they are going to present a bran-new compact crossover with a rather odd name – “Kadjar.” The official public premiere of the new car is going to take place in March at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Sales are expected to begin this fall.

This strange name consists of two parts – KAD and JAR, obviously. The first part is inspired by “quad” and stands for the excellent off-road capabilities of the “go – anywhere four – wheeled vehicle.” JAR, on the other hand, refers to the French words “jaillir” and “agile.” They express the smooth agility of the new Renault Kadjar as well as its sudden appearance from somewhere.

With such subtle hints regarding its characteristics, the crossover seems to be designed for passionate enthusiasts who want to discover new horizons and try new terrains. The best thing is that Kadjar is believed to allow them to do it. Going into the wild and coming back to the civilization will be an adventurous experience which will be taken to another level thanks to Renault’s new model.

The automaker hasn’t announced any other details at this point but Kadjar is thought to be based on the second generation Nissan Qashqai to some extent.

Images and videos will be available on social media daily until the 2nd of February when the wraps of the Renault Kadjar will finally come off.

  • Porsche 911 Carrera Tweaked by Exclusive Motoring

While Porsche is still testing their facelifted 911 Carrera, Exclusive Motoring showed images which revealed some minor but very exciting improvements on the same model.

First and foremost, Exclusive Motoring Porsche 911 Carrera is equipped with front and rear bumpers from the notable Porsche 911 GT3. The sporty overall impression is additionally characterized by the roof and the new engine cover both of which have now been painted in gloss black. By choosing a bright yellow color for the brake calipers, the tuner manages to create a contrast which distinguishes the look of the 911 Carrera even more than before.

This refreshed and somehow playful appearance is further underlined by the COR wheels. Being, perhaps, the most attention-grabbing component of the car, they arrive in 21-inch at the front and 22-inch at the rear and have brushed gloss red centers as well as color-matching lips. On the one hand, such large dimensions contradict the compact and agile look of the 911. On the other hand, they successfully enhance the all-embracing sportiness of the car.

The base model is motivated by a 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine that generates 350 HP at 7,400 rpm and 287 lb-ft of torque at 5,600 rpm. The manual-equipped 911 Carrera accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds, while the PDK variant covers the 60 mph run in 4.4 seconds (4.2 with Sport Chrono).

  • DMC Lamborghini Huracan is Already TUV-approved

Safety, high-quality and class have always been among the top priorities for DMC. Always showing the best of their skills, the tuning experts know what’s missing in the style of a certain automobile and, therefore, manage to add it. Thanks to the excellent craftsmanship of the luxury tuner, different Lamborghini models and other sport cars have received some of the best enhancement packages ever.

Now, the TUV in Germany has tested DMC’s carbon fiber and stated that it is not only safe and reliable but “extremely strong” as well. Thirty samples from DMC were received and were set to undergo quality, integrity and strength tests. But why is this so important?

In order to explain the significance of this matter, let’s take DMC Lamborghini Huracan as an example. Its rear wing arrives with another base spoiler under it but if you wanted to install any after-market wing on the regular Huracan base spoiler, there is a huge chance it might be ripped off when driving at high speeds. And you really wouldn’t like this to happen, right? Since the material of the original part is fragile and too light, an additional wing on top would turn into a disaster. BUT! The team of professional at DMC didn’t simply model their base spoiler after the original. What they also did was tweaking it so it could be stronger and more reliable on the inside.

The refined interior design of this Lamborghini Huracan features Italian fine leathers and carbon fiber components. There are also a lot of buttons and trims that come as a small package and to make things even more interesting. The already redesigned steering wheel can be reworked once again for the VIP package.

Future owners, enthusiasts and fans can see the DMC Huravan in its TUV approved splendor during Geneva Motor Show. There, the tuning company will also present their new rims which come in a 20″/21″ setup. They are considered to be the widest sets in the market so far.

  • Should You Consider an Electric Vehicle For Your Next Purchase

Electric vehicles have long been on the periphery as a growing technology, and as a sustainable choice for our environment. Yet the lack of knowledge about how they work and function has left possible buyers wary of researching further, when an electric vehicle may mean incredible savings. For the 2015 year, it is obvious that more and more of the largest automobile manufacturers are engineering great electric vehicles that you should totally keep on your radar if you are in the market for a new vehicle.

One of the best selling points for an electric vehicle is the inevitable amount of money you will save in gas fees. The United States Environmental Protection Agency has done the research, and predicted that on average, an electric car costs $3.74 worth of electricity to run for 100 miles. In comparison, a conventional car will cost around $13.36. Though these numbers will vary by your individual needs, the difference of $9.62 which could add up to some serious savings over the course of your ownership.

You could look at that previous factoid and think to yourself, “That’s great, but electric cars cost more, so the savings are nullified.” Not so fast! Electric cars are increasingly becoming more and more affordable, and competitive with their conventional sedan counterparts, so the savings stay. On top of that, the federal government offers a tax credit of up to $7,500, in an effort to encourage drivers to drive electric cars and reduce their emissions. Furthermore, there are additional incentives offered at a local level. With the potential for massive savings, an electric car is not any more expensive than a conventional sedan.

Electric cars also need less maintenance than their fuel-filled counterparts do. Electric vehicles have ten-times fewer moving parts, so essentially they are a much more simple machine. There is no transmission, engine, valves, spark plugs, tailpipe, fuel tank, starter, distributor, catalytic converter, muffler or clutch – so there is less that can possibly go wrong.

Regardless of the potential for incredible financial savings, an electric car is also a responsible choice. The choices you make now will affect your children and grand children, and if you want to begin contributing towards a better environment for them, consider an electric vehicle as your chosen vehicle. Not only will it offer incredible savings over the years that you drive it, it is also an environmentally responsible choice.

  • Importance of Tire Pressure

It is easy to overlook your tires during the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Between getting the kids in the car, buying gas, getting the kids out of the car, and getting yourself to work, it is easy to find yourself doing the bare minimum when it comes to weekly or monthly car maintenance. However, if you find yourself overlooking regular maintenance of your tires, you need to figure out how to set aside a chunk of your day each week to look after your tires and check their pressure.

Tire pressure measures the amount of air within the vehicle’s tires, and is measured in pounds per square inch (psi). To check the pressure, you need to have an electronic tire pressure gauge, which will give you an instant reading as to their psi. Keeping up with your tire pressure is a crucial maintenance task, as the tires are quite possibly the most important aspect of your car to keep you safe. If the tire pressure of your vehicle is off, even by a few pounds, it can affect your ability to brake, as well as the stability of your car and the fuel efficiency during your daily commute. Incorrect pressure can also, in the worst-case scenario, can lead to tire failure which could cause an accident, putting you and your passengers at risk.

Ken Garff Dodge states, “the incorrect psi can affect your vehicle and tires in a number of ways, depending on whether the psi is too high or too low.” A psi that is to high creates less of a grip on the road, and can cause your vehicle to bounce more violently over every bump and leading to a less enjoyable, smooth ride. If your tires are not touching the ground correctly because the psi is too high, the traction of your vehicle lessens, which can create issues with the responsiveness of your brakes. Alternately, if your tire is too low in psi, too much of the tire will be touching the ground, which will lead to an increase in friction. This friction will encourage your tires to heat up, which will consistently wear away at the tread and lead to a tire that does not work correctly.

It is important to check your tire pressure weekly, so that you can consistently keep tabs on the effectiveness of your brakes. If you find yourself consistently having to add air to your tires, you will know that there is something wrong with the tire itself, and can proactively take it to the mechanic and have it fixed. You owe it to yourself and your passengers to consistently check the pressure of your tires, as the outcome can not only affect the enjoyability of your ride, but the safety of you and your passengers.
