  • 2020 Volvo XC90 is named Car of the Decade. Details here!

    2020 Volvo XC90Volvo XC90 SUV has been named a Car of the Decade by the experts at Autotrader, one of the most recognized third-party car listing brands. The XC90 is the only luxury SUV to make the independently-chosen list.

    According to Autotrader, the XC90, which debuted in 2015, is a good example of a contemporary vehicle with the potential to endure the test of time. It features a range of turbocharged, supercharged and electrified four-cylinder power units and also offers good efficiency and a modern interior with tons of features.

    Furthermore, the XC90 represents the essence of what a contemporary Volvo can be. Something more, the XC90 has been completely refreshed and a 6-seater variant has been added, allowing for easier access to the third row of seats.

    The new Volvo family member also comes with confident and stylish exterior design. The vehicle shows off a neat muscular stance with subtle, timeless quality and balanced proportions. The same can be said about the interior design concept – new XC90 comes with a masterfully composed cabin with numerous beautiful materials and cutting-edge technologies – all perfectly blended with one another.

    In terms of the drivetrain system, the gas-powered T6 turbo- and supercharged power unit provides a total of 316hp and the T5 turbocharged engine delivers 250hp. The T8 Twin Engine Plug-In Hybrid offers a blended 400horsepower and doesn’t compromise interior space.

    Additionally, for 2020, XC90 receives a new concave front grille design, restyled front and rear bumpers, new Gloss Black R-Design theme and new wheel design. Standard equipment includes a large 12.3-inch Digital Driver Display, integrated roof rails, integrated tailpipes, 19-inch wheels, Road Sign Information and Automatic Brake system.

    There are also new exterior finishes added and a new Luxury Package, which adds Nubuck headliner, front and rear grab handles and massaging front seats.

  • Audi reveals new 2020 A4 models. Check them out!

    2020 Audi A4New A4 model lineup is already here and expected, it will deliver outstanding features, refined drivetrain system and tons of cutting edge technologies. By introducing A4 sedan, A4 allroad, and S4, the sportier version, Audi surely showcases determination to maintaining its positions as a leader in the premium segment.

    Exterior design

    The midsize model is definitely more dynamic and sophisticated when compared to older models due to the fact that it now features a completely new design concept. The front of the vehicle reveals a new shoulder line that starts at the corner of the headlight and runs through the edge of the hood. At the side, there are pronounced wheel arches whose design pays homage to the brand’s quattro DNA and the lower set of the shoulder line, which visually lowers the center of gravity.

    All A4 quattro models feature a standard S line exterior, which includes titanium black honeycomb in the Singleframe grille, aluminum silver matte inserts and neat 18-inch 5-double-spoke design wheels.

    For A4 allroad, the design team has ensured gray matte body cladding that helps to highlight the vehicle’s adventurous spirit. The allroad also features a unique Q-design Singleframe grille with vertical chrome slats that emphasize vehicle’s increased ground clearance and ride height.

    The S4 Sedan includes a double-slat alu-optic Singleframe grille, alu-optic exterior side mirror housings, body-colored handles, S model specs and can be specified with black optic package that adds black exterior trim with black exterior mirror housing and neat 19-inch 5-V-spoke-star design wheels in titanium finish.

    Interior design

    The cabin of all-new A4 models includes great attention to details and numerous new technologies. The entire design concept is focused on the MMI touch display, which features a new MIB 3 infotainment system.

    With new packages and greater value for customers, Audi Connect services is present for all models in the lineup. The system is offered with available Version Unlimited data connection powered by Verizon’s 4G LTE network that delivers fast and secure internet access.

    Additional features include a standard three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles, standard power sunroof, standard rear child locks and standard heated eight-way power driver seat with a four-way power lumbar for the driver on A4 FWD models. There’s also a standard three-zone climate control and standard ambient LED interior lights.

    Drivetrain system

    A4 quattro sedan comes with an agile 2.0-liter TFSI power unit that generates a total of 248hp and 273lb-ft of torque and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in mere 5.6 seconds. For the A4 allroad this time is 5.9 seconds.

    The 3.0-liter TFSI power unit in the S4 delivers the whooping 349hp and 369lb-ft of torque and finishes the 0-100km/h sprint in a mere 4.4 seconds. This engine is mated to an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, which is further fine-tuned in order to fit the low-end torque of the V6. What is special about this setup is that the lower gears offer short and sporty ratios, while the longer upper gears help reduce the engine revs. Furthermore, every Audi S4 is equipped with quattro all-wheel drive, offering high precision and dynamic handling through active torque distribution to both axles.

    In terms of suspension, all A4 models come with a five-link steel suspension that provides a comfortable and yet agile ride for long distances. There’s also an available sporty suspension that lowers the ride with an additional 23mm.

    The A4 allroad’s standard adaptive damping suspension ensures an increased ground clearance of 34mm over the A4 sedan, achieved through a taller suspension and higher profile tires, making the allroad more capable choice for some off-road action.

    What is special about S4 is that drivers can choose an available S sport package, which adds a sporty damping suspension, red brake calipers and a sport rear differential that enhances cornering agility by actively splitting torque between each of the rear wheels.

    2019 Kia Telluride Kia Telluride remains brand’s most awarded vehicle in the past year. It is also the first SUV to win the “Triple Crown” of the auto industry’s most prestigious accolades: 2020 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year from North American Car of the Year, MotorTrend SUV of the Year and Car and Driver 10 Best.

    The 2019 Telluride model has also won numerous “Best of” honors and has managed to receive top honors from prestigious online, print and video outlets.

    And now the vehicle takes home one more prestigious award – NACTOY jurors have voted Telluride number one based on months of test drives, comparisons and other evaluations. Criteria for MotorTrend’s premier award are safety, efficiency, value, design and engineering refinement.

    In addition to being Kia’s model with the most awards and recognitions in its first year on the market, Telluride is also one of KMA’s best-selling vehicles. Since its reveal in early 2019, there were nearly 60,000 Tellurides that have been sold and the demand continues to outpace supply.   • Vilner Bulgaria showcases its latest project. Check it out!

    2020-Vilner-Porsche-911-Carrera-Cabriolet-910Although being roughly 20 years old, the automobile has retained its potential for revisions and upgrade tweaks. And this is indeed what Atanas Vilner and his fellow team of engineers and designers have done to the lucky Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet.

    The revised vehicle features an entirely new upholstery with fine brown leather and white and blue contrast stitching. What catches the eye is the upper part of the interior: there’s an X-shaped piece with leather inserts, just as with a baseball glove. The face of the apron is covered in blue, while the bottom part features wooden inserts. The steering wheel has also received some special attention: it is covered with leather and wooden pieces.

    As Mr. Vilner states, contrast doesn’t mean only blending different types of colors. It also comprises a strategic placement of different types of surfaces, he continues. In fact, as it seems, the entire idea of the project is to create numerous layers of a design concept that are gradually unfolded and relished upon.

    Atanas Vilner drives attention towards doors’ cover – the new design is both appealing and functional. There are large wooden applications and leather covers that contribute to more comfortable elbow placement. There are large wooden inserts at the central console, in the knee area of both the driver and passengers.

    Additionally, all stock grey-covered plastic pieces in the interior are now painted in new and exclusive “Vilner Copper Rose” – a special paint, especially created by Vilner team and based on the R-M The Code BASF program, first used for the Datsun 280Z project. The interior also features newly painted controls of the electric seats. “Vilner Copper Rose” also covers the new sporty seatbelts, speaker grilles, the button of the selector of the gearbox and the details at its base.

    There are fine details that add to the complete aesthetic figure to the project – there’s a set of Vilner badges, new floor mats with leather inserts and of course, a metal plate with the name of the project and the name of the owner etched at it.

  • Ford launches its marketing ads for the new 2020 Escape lineup

    2020 Ford EscapeFord today kicks off its multi-channel ad campaign for the new Escape, a new model with more space, additional new driver-assist technologies and a new hybrid drivetrain for class-leading EPA estimated fuel economy.

    Named “Built Street Smart”, Escape’s ad campaign is running across broadcasts, digital, social media and print channels that highlight the winning attributes of the new Ford Escape. There’ a series of 30-second tv spots – “Squeeze” and “Built Street Smart”, which focus on vehicle’s improved cargo capacity, advanced features, and the class-leading EPA-estimated fuel efficiency.

    Debuting this month, the campaign for the African-American and Hispanic audiences celebrate smart and independent women, while the spotlight Escape’s striking design and features enable them to go further. Both audiences will see themselves represented by leading ladies from entertainment, sports and activism, with award-winning actress Angela Bassett lending her voice to two spots.

  • Fiat presents first details about the upcoming 500 and Panda Hybrids!

    2020 Fiat Panda and 500 Hybrid editions Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda will be the first FCA models to adopt the brand’s new hybrid technology. 500 Mild Hybrid and Panda Mild Hybrid will make the system accessible to all and will arrive in UK showrooms in February and March 2020 respectively.

    Both new entries will provide efficient and lightweight hybrid driving. And both will be available with a new petrol engine that blends the output of the latest 3-cylinder FireFly 1.0-liter power with a 12-volt BSG electric motor and lithium battery that delivers a total of 70hp.

    Compared to the outgoing 1.2-liter 69hp petrol unit, the mild hybrid version improves fuel efficiency and reduces CO2 emissions with up to 30 percent without impeding performance. It also ensures a high standard of driving comfort thanks to the BSG system, which allows a quiet and vibration-free ride.

    The engine itself, the 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder has a peak output of 70hp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 92Nm at 3,500rpm. The cylinder head has two valves per cylinder and a single camshaft with continuous variable valve timing. This structure includes a compact combustion chamber, high-tumble intake ducts, and external Exhaust Gas Recirculation. Furthermore, the combustion engine is capable to switch off at speeds below 18mph.

    500 Mild Hybrid and Panda Mild Hybrid ‘Launch Edition’

    The special series will be recognized by the “Hybrid” logo on the rear and the exclusive “H” logo, formed by two dew drops, on the central panel. Additionally, there’s a new and exclusive “Dew Green” exterior that suits both models with the themes of nature and innovation. The Launch Editions also feature interior components, comprised of recycled plastic.

    Fiat and Panda remain the Fiat icons that represent the urban mobility in Europe and now with the introduction of their hybrid variants, the popularity of both vehicles is expected to hit new heights.

    Both Launch Editions can be ordered from January at Fiat retailers and the first deliveries will arrive in the first quarter of 2020.

  • BMW introduces new engine systems for X1 and X2 XDRIVE25e models

    2020-BMW-X1-Xdrive-910BMW Group’s ongoing commitment to electrified technology is exemplified in its new electrified drivetrains. Thanks to the recent advances in battery cell technology, new BMW PHEVs extend their possibilities if locally emissions-free driving.

    The plug-in hybrid system of the new BMW X1 xDrive 25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e consists of a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol unit with BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology and an electric drive especially created for this particular model. The petrol unit has a peak output of 125hp and maximum torque of 220Nm and is mated to a 6-speed Steptronic gearbox and drives the front wheels. At the same time, the electric motor generates an output of 95hp and 165Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a single-speed gearbox.

    Together, the combustion engine and the electric motor generate these massive 220hp. The maximum torque of both units is measured at 385Nm. This means that the new BMW X1 xDrive25e accelerates from 0 to 63mph in 6.9 seconds, while BMW X2 xDrive25e does the same in 6.8 seconds. Additionally, the electric boost provided by the hybrid systems ensures a top speed of 121mph for both models.

    The position of the high-voltage battery underneath the rear seat leads to a low center of gravity, which optimizes the agility of both models and ensures larger luggage compartment with a capacity of 450 liters. There’s also a trailer tow hitch with a detachable ball for the BMW X1 xDrive25e, with a maximum trailer load of 750 kilograms.

    Furthermore, new BMW X1 xDrive25e and BMW X2 xDrive25e feature acoustic pedestrian protection as a standard feature. When driving electrically at low speeds, the system makes an unmistakable sound that alerts other road users to the approaching car without impairing the comfort of the occupants. Additionally, the standard equipment for both models includes 17-inch alloy wheels, 2-zone automatic air conditioning, sporty seats and LED headlights.

  • Nissan presents new 4OWER technology at 2020 CES

    2020 Nissan Ariya Concept Nissan is elevating the performance capability of electric vehicles with its new twin-motor AWD control technology called e-4ORCE. The technology ensures instant torque to all four wheels and ensures balanced and predictable power and handling on par with numerous premium sports cars.

    The “e” represents Nissan’s technologies enabled by a 100 per cent electric motor drive system. “4ORCE”, pronounced “force” evokes physical power and energy with the “4” standing for the AWD control driving capability.

    The technology was born from the lessons learned in the development of the Nissan GT-R’s ATTESA E-TS torque split system and the Nissan Patrol’s intelligent 4×4 system. Furthermore, engineers have developed the e-4ORCE technology in order to manage electric vehicle power output and braking performance to be smooth and stable as much as possible.

    The ride comfort is a result of the e-4ORCE’s ability to minimize vehicle pitch and drive. This is achieved by employing regenerative braking from both front and rear motors, making city stop-and-go traffic less jostling. In a similar fashion, on rough and bumpy roads, and especially when accelerating, motor control is optimized to maintain ride comfort by minimizing irregular movement.

    Furthermore, e-4ORVE increases driver confidence by tracing the driver’s intended line thanks to ultra-high-precision motor and brake control. With the confidence to handle such variety of road surfaces, even for newbie rivers on slippery roads, driving becomes more enjoyable.

  • Aston Martin reveals first details about the upcoming V12 Speedster

    2021 Aston Martin V12 SpeedsterAston Martin confirms the production of a limited number of next-gen V12 Speedster machines. The model will make its global debut later this year with discerning drivers around the world being offered the opportunity to acquire this visceral celebration of the prominent brand’s exciting past and bright future.

    This V12 Speedster is created by the prominent Q by Aston Martin team and will showcase authentic, driver-focused interior with elegant and aggressive exterior lines and curves. Vehicle’s design, while modern and dynamic, also pays homage to the legendary 1959 Le Mans winner DBR1 and marque’s Centenary CC100 Speedster Concept that was shown back in 2013.

    This Le Mans winner, the DBR1, which inspired the V12 Speedster, delivered Aston Martin’s most high-profile motorsport triumph to date and does not need an introduction. One of the only three cars in the 1950s to win the World Sports Car Championship and Le Mans 24 Hours in the same year, DBR1 defined not only the motorsport excellency but also showcases exquisite design elegance – the formula for an enduring Aston Martin trademark.

    Brand’s CC100 Speedster Concept, on the other hand, was unveiled in 2013 and celebrates Aston Martin’s centenary. It also helped to inspire the creation of the new V12 Speedster which is the product of more than 12 months of meticulous design and planning work by both Q by Aston Martin and Aston Martin Design.

    The heart of the latest Aston Martin masterpiece is the team’s new and already iconic 5.2-liter V12 Twin-Turbo engine, capable of generating a total of 700hp and 700Nm. It is mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox mounted towards the rear of the vehicle. The engine has an abundance of character, produces a notable roar and, of course, ensures a rewarding driving experience.

    Orders are already being taken and deliveries are expected in the first quarter of 2021.

  • 2019 Audi e-Tron wins a prestigious award!

    2019-Audi-e-tron-9102019 Audi e-tron SUV, the first fully electric vehicle for the brand has managed to ear Green Car Report’s Best Car to Buy 2020 Award.

    Green Car Reports evaluates electric vehicles on driving enjoyment and ease to live with in addition to demonstrating technologies that are created for a lighter environmental impact. 2019 Audi e-Tron can make going all-electric easy and offers an expanded list of support services that altogether ensure confidence in going electric, including dedicated Audi electric vehicle customer service and plug-in-specific features.

    2019 e-Tron comes equipped with the standard electric quattro AWD system, 402hp, and fast charging capability, which means that 0-80percent recharge is achieved in about 30 minutes or 52 miles every 10 minutes using the Electrify America charging network.

    Additionally, the e-tron became the first pure battery-electric vehicle to win the 2019 IIHS “Top Safety Pick Plus” rating, the highest rating awarded by the nonprofit organization.
